Thanks Kimberly! Yet another video that feel through the cracks and never got seen by many on this channel. It was uploaded almost three years ago when I didn't have very many subscribers or much of an audience yet. It did well on Vimeo in 2020.
@@mikemunrowsretro8973I have it on one of my playlists and all of my playlists are listed private for a reason and it is a good reason that's for sure. ❤
I’ve seem a lot of movies and videos but this one knocked me off my feet. Thanks for sharing well done, But please what is this from? Super curious. The first part of the video the dancing. Thanks again.
Thanks so much! I'll have to let you know later. The film is not coming up by date, which means I was holding on to it for a while before I used it for this video. It may take some time to hunt down on my hard drive.
Hi again, John. Oh, silly me, all I had to do was load up the work file from 2020. The film is called Paracelsus (1943), and this scene is known as Fliegenbein's Dance of Death (Totzentanz). That is what compels all the people to join in. In Germanic lore, the dance of death was infectious and if one did it, everyone nearby did.
It's not. I use all kinds of footage in my videos to go along with the song I am working with. Sometimes I find myself doing the opposite, I may work with footage for a song, not like it, and find a better song, although I am usually not that far into the video when that happens. Occasionally lightning strikes and I have an idea for a song right away. Sometimes though I will do the original music for a film and do a visual essay to go with that music, such as my video for "Town Without Pity" by Gene Pitney, where I featured the film as his song was part of the theme music for it. That may have been my best video made in 2019.
@mikemunrowsretro8973 I will check it out. I have been going through your videos as time allows. I savor each experience. Btw my comment was not serious. The song tempo fit the dance quite humorous.
Pretty cool video if you ask me.
Happy Thanksgiving 🍂🦃🍁🦃🍂🦃🍁
