[MRMOBILE’S FAVORITE IPHONE 15 ACCESSORIES]
As another Techtober takes another year off my life, and the notion of a video “review” on TH-cam continues to evolve, I hope to start talking more about not just single products on this channel, but how those products can bring more value to people by working together.
I’m already working on videos that will talk about how different brands try to accomplish this with their various ecosystems. But Apple, thanks to its sheer scale, has an additional advantage that I’ve envied for most of the 13 years I’ve been an Android user: a rich constellation of accessories made just for the iPhone. Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to get to know a few companies that make really great stuff for the iPhone, and for this video, I’ve rounded up my personal favorites.

I really appreciate Michael being a tech-forward Android freak who doesn't just jump to the tired old "Apple only makes money because its users are idiots" routine. Apple is, in many ways that matter more to the average consumer, superior, and I type this from a Galaxy Z Flip 2 that I've been using since launch.
Magsafe is probably the only new feature I like from Apple. I ended up buying a magsafe ring (from ESR) for my old Android phone and using it with magsafe compatible powerbank. It's literally just a magnet, super simple and works wonderful, super strong.
nobody asked
@@stellviahohenheim nobody asked if anyone asked
@@stellviahohenheim Do you not expect people to use the comment section to share their experiences related to the video?
Last I heard Magsafe is going to be coming to Android phones in the future which is nice because like you, it is the one feature from the iPhone I would like to come over. Accessory makers are going to be making bank once it does come to Android.
@@stellviahohenheim😂
There’s no question Apple has better third-party accessories but Moment has been great at supporting the latest Android flagships.
Edit: I said MOFT and no one corrected me. Had to change the company name.
As a person who JUST started using Moft products, they’re PHENOMENAL 👌🏾

@@SuperTrey807😅y 8:53 😅
What Android stuff do they have? I'm on their website now, seems to all be about Apple?
@@MikeStevens Unfortunately nothing to my knowledge is available for Android phones. I know, tragic… 😅
Imagine the book book case on a foldable. That would be a dream. My main ebook reader in a case that looks like a book!
But technically, with a mag ring sticker, you could turn any android phone into a device that could use the accessories, so they’re not exactly exclusive to Apple. It just requires an extra step.
Qi 2 should be bringing magnets to everything so hopefully that isn’t required much longer.
Aside from what was already said about Qi2, the stickers are usually pretty weak and lead to an experience that’s more frustrating and unreliable than it is pleasant, at least with the ones I’ve tried.
@@teguh.hofstee but also many of the case makers that make MagSafe for Apple also makes some for Samsung and pixel! Unless the magnet in the android equivalent isn’t as strong as the iPhone version of the case? Also what’s to say that qi2 requires the same ring design as the one used in apple’s magnetic ring? It could be slightly smaller or bigger than apples one!
That's what I've done the last few years. From my fold phones to my nothing phones to my xperias
@@matthewburno
Belkin announced some Qi2 chargers that they claim are also MagSafe compatible and the iPhone 15s are supposed to be Qi2 compliant so the ring should be the same though it may not include the alignment magnet but thats not really a necessity in my experience.
Just Googled it, per Apple Insider Apple contributed the magnet design to the WPC as the basis for Qi2.
These „book“ cases/covers are available for pixels, some vendors have really cool ones in stock. Just saying if someone wants one, I personally like the „naked“ stile, too, with just a skin in 5he back for better gripping 😁😉
The MagSafe ecosystem on Apple is everything I wanted Motorola to be. Thanks for sharing this video, I’ve used my iPhone 13 mini with multiple MagSafe accessories and enjoyed 15 hour screen on time with the battery pack accessory. I’m very curious to see how USB-C will only further enhance this ecosystem.
Ah, Moto Mods. Brings back memories…
Always waiting to see the Mr. Mobile version of any review. Michael, you Sir, are a huge gift to Tech nerds all over the world. 10/10.
Your videos are some of the best I've seen on tech. You and MKBHD are in a league of your own!
Okay the Book Book case actually impressed me.. might have to pick one up
I've been carrying that MOFT Invisible Tripod with me anytime I go out.. it gives me that peace of mind knowing I have a 'tripod' with me for those just-in-case shots, plus no bulge or bulk in the pocket is satisfying
Absolutely! If I carried the iPhone more regularly, the tripod would be on there permanently.
This is one of the reasons I have an iPhone. The diversity and scale of the accessories that I can just purchase.
So you use your accessories more than the phone?🤔
@@Murillos1 No. It just extends the capability of my iPhone without the hassle of trying to find something compatible with it.
Nothing hurts me more than when I visit Japan and see thousands of beautiful phone cases, but only for iPhones.
Great episode. Loved the book book case 😂
Moft’s Wallet is an even slimmer accessory than the invisible tripod, but gives it similar functionality along with holding up to 3 cards too. Moft’s sheer depth of offerings is incredible.
I hadn't thought about the Book Book case in years. I first learned about them when I saw someone with one on their first-ish gen iPad back when they first came out. As someone that had e-ink eReaders, it was something I was super jealous of and wanted, and frankly still want, for them.
They make one for the Kindle Paperwhite.
@@mabolzitch7743 Glad to here they get some support. Going with a lesser known brand that has Android app support and I can't seem to find much for them unfortunately. Wish they would get more, but admittedly I can't see them having much of a market as is.
Moft, BookBook Case and Mobile Studio were the best things in this vid! 🤩🤩
I use an Anker 5,000 MaH MagSafe battery pack all the time, and it’s one of the things I normally have in my pocket. Super convenient and easy to carry!
thank you for making this video. I just bought my first iphone in 7 years and i needed a good source to tell me about some good accessories
I have always been jealous of the amount and variety iPhone accessories, but thankfully now that the iPhones are USB-C and Qi2 is rumored to be including magnets(hopefully compatible with MagSafe), i´m excited to get all that goodness on the Android side as well.
My go to 3-in-1 MagSafe charger is the Anker 3-in-1 Cube. It’s great for traveling and keeping it on the nightstand. I have a ESR wallet stand that I use everyday. I also have three different MagSafe battery packs. The Apple one, the updated 622 from Anker, and a 10,000 milliamp from Baseus. I also have a MagSafe car vent mount. For cases I switch them up every now and then. I got a Nomad leather case, Andar Aspen case, cases from Casetify, and a Mous case. I have a case addiction, haha. So yeah, I get a lot of use out of MagSafe.
I've used a random cage from AliExpress for my Android phones, the cage being equippedwith cold shoe mounts for accessories, for years now. It fits all my real cameras (biggest being an APS-C shooter) and currently s21 Ultra with an easy adapter.
Mr. Mobile is so nostalgic of the era I used to browse GSM Arena. When Androids used to be fun (HTC, Galaxy, Nokia etc…) I love your channel dude!
People preach plastic in packaging cause its bad for the environment but praise wireless charging even though it waste a lot of energy.
I really like the Peak design case for my S23 Ultra, so I'd have to imagine it's pretty great for iPhones too. I know there was some issues with the action button on the Pro phones though.
for a phone cage, I use the Beast Grip. Works great for any phone AND they do make actual cages specifically for iPhones!
It seems like most of the accessories are magsafe based, and with a magsafe cover for an android phone, what's stopping you from using those same accessories with an android?
Motorola did it years ago with the moto z, shame it wasn't popular enough.
The lovely sponsor block extension for safari and chrome removed the useless sponsor messages in this video
I think the one thing Andriod is missing in terms of accessories are kickass cases all we get is the generic looking cases
I've always been jealous when it came to iPhone accessories but I'm the recent years 3rd party companies have started focusing more on Android flagships including the Pixel lineup. And with Qi2 and with Apple adopting type c there should be more accessories that work for both.
Some of the shown accessories, like book cases for example (or the lenses he already used on a pixel) are already available, even if it’s from another manufacturer 😁👍
That AOL instant messenger sound que was a nice touch I haven't heard that in years
The best magsafe grip and stand is the EWA magone upgraded edition, it tends to fall apart if you absolutely abuse it like I do, but a tiny dab of super glue fixes it forever. Swappable straps for different grip feels, a kickstand strong enough to hold up my zfold in portrait or landscape unfolded, and a design so thin you can wireless charge through it, I wouldn't tho because it gets HOT.
I also have that and it’s my absolute favorite
Moft is killing it NGL 👌🏾
Can't wait for the pixel review
Back when I had an iPhone 4, I found a sliding keyboard case. At the time when everyone was still getting used to typing on slabs, it was so great to revert back to what was familiar and use a tactile, clicky, physical keyboard. Not sure if you can find them now days anymore, but I don't ever remember seeing any made for Android phones.
I had/have one sitting in a drawer that was for my galaxy s3 from ten years ago.
@@Micg51 Was it a sliding one or a loss flipping one? I saw that style but not sliding. If it was, nice to hear Android had some representation back then.
@mrgw98 yep it was sliding. I missed my slide out texting phone and wanted to try to replicate it
This! I picked up a few a ways back because they are decent little Bluetooth keyboards with hack-able sliding mechanisms. I’m just generally in favor of having more tactile feedback for better typing performance. Even held out on the last BlackBerry phones until the lack of updates became untenable. I really wish Planet Computers had focused on putting their new keyboard into a case for flagships instead of a doomed niche device. The folding phones I actually want would have keyboards.
Thanks for this type of video. I hope you do something similar for Android devices.
1:40 I have something like that £20 off Amazon does all 3 magsafe style. It also has a 5000mah battery and the stand is detachable and it has it's own kick stand.. All cool stuff!
When that BookBook case revealed another case that you could separate from the book housing and just carry your phone like normal, I got blown away. Damnnnn I want that now.
I've gone through a lot of accessories for electronics (including for Apple devices), and the vast majority of them I have given up on in the end. Mostly the third-party ones, but quite a few first-party ones. Generally, if it isn't there in the main product, it doesn't hold up well when added on later.
Magsafe is a really simple but genius idea, I use a Pixel but having Magsafe compatibility is a prerequisite for any case I buy
Are you reviewing the Surface Laptop Studio 2? your reviews are the best!
Cant wait for qi 2
Both Apple and Android make great phones, but what moved me over to iPhone a few years ago was the introduction of Magsafe and all the accessories you can get.
12 south was my go to back then. Had a book book case for my 5s.
Yeah, the apple accessory options are the only thing I'm really jealous of, there's a lot of good stuff.
Damn, Michael and his videos just having my drooling all things tech.
Love your videos, can you cover the Galaxy folder and it's weird cousins?
Sitting here with my android, never had an Iphone, probably never will. Watching cuz MrMobile makes awesome content
Hey Michael, could you do a video of wpwf on the motorola flipout? I could only find videos with really surface level commentary and I would LOVE your video on it
Motorola actually did the magnetic battery pack way before apple did.
They did. And it was a part of the greater Moto mods with useful Pogo pins.
But sadly they discontinued it and are pretty much unusable outside of the Moto Z phones, last made in 2019.
obligatory 'android did it first' comment
And?
@@fckSashka erm, but they did. Have you seen the moto z. They did it better than apple.
@@Supraboyes Is it really better if it's proprietary and exclusive to a more niche line of phones? MagSafe is literally just Qi but with magnets, which makes it easier to implement across the board, especially now that it's becoming the Qi2 standard.
Yeah one of the downsides of rocking an Xperia is there are very few cases and pretty much no aftermarket accessories available 😞
I mean, all you have to do is buy a case with magnets on it and slap it on an Android phone and boom all of these accessories work with an android
The Belkin Boost 3 in 1 is the best wireless charger I’ve used.
There's a Casetify case that retails for over $100. I felt that was a bit of overkill and use a Spiegen Tough Armor magfit for my 15 Pro Max.
There was a time when I wanted to shift to the iPhone because I wanted the case with the e-ink display because I love to read!
Probably does accessory makers the largest world of good that Apple switched to Type C. No more licensing fees and the essentially just have to design one universal design for large things like controllers. Couple that with Qi 2 integrating magnets and all Magsafe accessories will be available for Android users in the coming years.
The X1 Fold 16 came outtttt!!!!!!!!!! Are you going to do a review of it?
What's better for mobile gaming: a console controller connected via Bluetooth or a the phone gaming controllers mentioned in the video?
I just made an espresso, what lovely timing : )
The people making the book bookcase missed a Golden opportunity to call it the PHONEBOOK
It does pain me to say that Mag safe is genius. I have a magsafe case on my S22 ultra, and a finger holder ring clipped on, then a car mount too. So simple to use
Why does it pain you? Because Apple made it? Do you hate Apple that much?😂
Does it cause any issues to the S-Pen functionality or does it make the phone overheat? Trying to decide whether or not I will get a Magsafe case or ring and those concern me.
Good stuff, but also Bronco busting that SEO stallion!
New for the iPhone side of things, a pocketable USB-C dock may now be relevant. I use one with my USB 2.0 Android devices to do displaylink out, with multiple USB connected devices. With the new iPhones supporting USB-C and native display out, a TV connection with a wired controller could make for a pretty fun time!
I love Nomad and Moment!
I've been using Magsafe with my S22 Ultra for a year now... I'll never go back. I just bought a magsafe compatible case for it and BAM! All the magsafe stuff is now compatible with my Android. Amazon truly does provide solutions that can't be found elsewhere. 😂
I have 2 Apple MagSafe Battery Packs. One is always plugged in and whichever other is always on my iPhone and my iPhone never needs plugged in.
Ive used magsafe on all my android devices now for a few years so I have quite a bit of stuff.
The biggest disappointment is Moment not having a case specific for the Xperia line. So ive had to resort to that ugly club on filter adapter with an adjustable ND filter but its a PITA.
7:59 MrMobile is cooking something. Definitely it will be fun to watch whatever it is.
Wanna hear something nuts? I'm actually watching this on my flip 5 right now it's amazing 😁
You guys know you can buy a case with magnets in it for any phone with Qi charging that will enable the phone to use MagSafe stuff right?
My wife has an S23 ultra. Has one of those cases on it. She uses a MagSafe stand on her nightstand, a MagSafe mount in her car, and has one those MagSafe battery packs. It works as seamlessly on her phone as it does on my iPhone.
HiRise products are so gorgeous
Started from the bottom now we're here
Where can I find that stripes wallpaper on your iPhone?
I just use magnetic cables to charge, I plop my phone near it as I'm going to bed and it pops on all on its own without having to worry about any wireless charging issues or whatever
I miss the bumper style cases, if they can be called that way, I had on my iPhone 4.... The ones that goes only around the phone.
You can buy a rhino shield bumper case, it’s pretty good
I absolutely love my kishi it goes with me everywhere
It would have been cool if Nothing would have but leds in it’s Nothing phone cases for the iPhone! Like the O.G. Floss says, “That’d be dope”!😂
Based on the disclosure, I got the impression that Moft had the editorial input and early preview of this video. Is that true, Michael?
Instead of using wireless charging, use wired. No heating issues, no slow charging, no power loss and efficient.
Congratulations u saved the environment 🎉🎉
With a newer Samsung and a pitaka case I've been using MagSafe for a year or so
I don’t understand why Qi2 isn’t a common thing yet. Or why more people don’t use stick on MagSafe adapters. I gave one to my partner for their S22 Ultra and they’ve loved using MagSafe stuff with it.
For Fellow Frugal Folk, Fill you Consider Flinging your Fannypacks and getting the Fun Razr Kishi V1, which can be had at a minor discount and is perfectly good too. Am a happy owner of a V1, certainly a deal compared to some.
Hi. You show the Planet Computers Gemini (6:57) but am I right that you've never reviewed it?
I share your woe, Michael. as an exclusively Android user, I've been hard pressed to find a lot of the features I want, only to see it readily available to iPhone. even for Magsafe, Android already have something similar way earlier (had a magnetic car charger by Nillkin), but now are drowned by the sheer magniture of Magsafe products.
I just want a simple life. a phone, which is svelte enough to slip in the pocket, light enough for extended doomscrolling, with wireless charging with magnetic hold and alignment a la magsafe, and the capability to hold some cash for when the cards on the phone could not be used. why is that so hard? 🤦
they have usb-c now and QI 2 with magnets is coming out soon. there is not going to be any difference soon for manufacturers to make accessories for android and iphone.
When do you think we will be seeing some Qi2 compatible Android phones?
When is the pixel 8 Pro review coming !!?
waiting for your pixel 8 and 8 pro reviews
I love Mr Mobile’s voice. Imagine being his son? “This, is disappointing. You have failed to live up to expectations, unlike the new 2022 model, known as your brother. You just aren’t as bright. You’re too heavy. And you cost too much. Son, you’re going to have to go to the bottom drawer. Or your mother’s.”
I wonder if eventually Android manufacturers will create standards for some features, like dimensions, cameras or ports so the accessory market will be more general and able to reach more devices so both can grow on that way
Freewell and Moment both make most of those same phone camera accessories for Samsung s24 phones as they do Apple.
Okay, so I was going to make a wise crack about your sponsor...Grand MOFT Tarkin, anyone? But holy crap, I've actually been looking for a super portable tripod stand, and have only been coming up with cheap Chinese junk. I am SO grabbing that invisible tripod...
I wonder how many of the magsafe accessories will work with a Android with a metal ring adapter
When will pixel 8 pro review comes out ?
I could watch Michael do ads all day long 😂
I'll suggest you may see 'better' or 'Apple only' accessories simply because the consumer base is a known quantity that typically has no problem paying more than Android users would pay for a similar or same product. IMO of couse.
Wishing you a good day 🥰♥️
Magsafe batteries which stick to the back of your Iphone is like old school removeable battery we have come a whole circle
I love book book cover
Qi 2 brings magsafe to android devices, so should be interesting to see how it all opens up.
Oppo actually wanted to do something like the Twelvesouth HiRise 3 Deluxe which was just a concept that unforturnately disappered 😮💨
-edit: the concept name was the Oppo X-Nando (earbuds that can be converted into a watch, *multiple wireless charging* and a powerbank)
