TURBO 8th Gen Honda Civic Build | Ep.11 (CX Racing Turbo & Hondata Boost Controller)

- The turbo is finally 100% installed baby let's go!
In today's video we pulled an all nighter but we got so much done! The oil drain & feed lines came out so clean, but I am a little worried about the drain line being so close to the passenger axle. We might need to build a protective shield or something around the oil drain line.
This CX Racing turbo kit is finally coming together. We got our Hondata boost controller installed & all we gotta do now is build a harness to run the boost controller off the purge valve input wiring.
We are so damn close to a first start boys.
Hope you guys enjoyed the video!

That idle air assist valve actually sits on top of a sensor which runs off of coolant temp and opens/closes that valve. You wont be able to use it for a vacuum source right off the manifold like that. I cut that whole section off to use a tractuff piece to replace it and coolant runs through a port on the bottom of the mani! Hope this helps!
These are the kind of comments I love to see. Thank you for the awesome info! I’ll just block it off & get all the fittings that come in the block off kits 👍🏼
Did you install the t and then thread the oil feed on there? I can’t they the oil feed to thread in without it trying to cross thread.
I have a Honda civic si 2008 and hopefully I can do this one day to my car
I’m just watching just because. Another great informative video. I do the same with zip ties that I bought a 1,000 pack off Amazon last month and I’ve gone through 100+ already.
I have wasted a countless amount of zip ties 😅 it never ends
@@DanielKellert exactly like you said you set it up then 5 mins later you need to cut it off and re do it but the one thing that’s the most annoying is getting the zip tie in an awkward area and you finally get it in but the tie is backwards and you have to try again.
this is sick man, i learned alot from just this one video, im really thinking about going turbo soon, preciate it man and good luck
Dooo itttt 😈
Can't wait for a startup been here for a lil minute 😄
It’s been a process 😅
super close congrats brother!
🙌🏼🙌🏼
run an intake tube from the turbo and mount your check valve to that tube so either under boost or idle its ALWAYS pulling a vacuum can do the same thing with your catch can and purge valve kind of an after thought while watching the build love all the ifo was looking at this exact fir but had no idea how it was gonna fit and i greatly appreciate this content
The turbo inlet is not a proper vacuum source to run any of those off of. There is a lot room for failure or leaks between the turbo to the manifold (couplers, clamps, pipes, throttle body, etc). Plus your throttle body is electronically controlled to close & only allow the desired amount of air into the engine at idle, so you would have restricted vacuum if mounting on the turbo inlet. Only place to mount any vacuum assisted component is directly to the intake manifold so it gets true engine vacuum.
@@DanielKellert ah ok i got you, I was reffering to intake tube before the turbo couplers won't matter turbo is always pulling a vacuum
@@joeyjohnson938 I know you were, that air is being pulled through the turbo & pushed through the intercooler piping to the intake manifold. Vacuum’s need to have a way to exhaust the air as well. I personally would not run a vacuum source pre turbo. If you’re gonna try it, do your research first & let me know how it goes 👍🏼
Bananas!
My turbo oil feed line lasted about 8 months and then started leaking, I was digging for days trying find that leak thinking it was the valve cover gasket
We will see how long she lasts 😅
Change to a tial wastegate. The cx wastegate will fail.
I just want to make sure I understood what you said quick. That oil feed line coming out of the block. The line itself must be facing upward? Is that correct? Thank you!!!
The feed line is pressurized so it does not matter. The drain line needs a constant downward slope because it relies on gravity to return the oil to the pan. 👍🏼
I really appreciate the time you took to respond man! Thank you! I hope you have an amazing Christmas! I’ve said it more than one of your videos. I’m grateful that you are making this series!🙏
If you find a better way for the turbo drain which legit has to be lined up directly between the shifter cables, please let me know. Had to pre install it all on the turbo. Cant get to nothing. Nightmare hahaha
It is a nightmare & I don’t really know any other way around it tbh 🤦🏻 Might make some slight changes before we send it on the dyno though. 👍🏼
COMMENCE SUCC!!!
How else are you supposed to show how a check valve works? 😅
Who your tuning can I get contact information
Gotta know about the bpt or you ruin your block. B series is the same way
This ^^
