When the demo of this game came out, I had sent in some issues I'd had to the devs. Well they obviously didn't listen. 1) you don't manually lock the trailer to the truck. You back under the trailer until the fifth wheel locks to it. You do however crawl under to visually inspect that the jaws locked. 2) the cables in the game are both electrical lines. There are no air lines. The cables should be red and blue and be air line gladhands and a yellow or green electrical chord. 3) lights on the roof of truck don't turn on. 4) this is about the roads. On a two way road it's accurate but when you get on decided roads the center dotted lines should be white and the left line would be yellow. This is true for both directions. 5) they at least need some sort of log book system. You can't just drive non stop and fill up on energy drinks (irl it's 11 hours withing 14 hours). Honestly, the devs did no research before starting development of this game. To me it's an attempt at a money grab off the popularity of ATS. This game is a fail. Save your money
Just one of my experiences so far….. late evening but I decided to load the game on PS5 for one quick delivery which I had already started in the previous session. Turned out to be a major experience but for all good reasons. Somehow I’d been in the map and had inadvertently changed my GPS route which took me into the ice road area instead of where I was supposed to deliver. I was tired and so was my character…. Some damage occurred after I tried to overtake a slow vehicle that proceeded to accelerate as I was passing. I clipped another vehicle and truck damage occurred. Seemed ok. I carried on and after reaching my destination the road was closed. I then realised I’d changed the gps route in error. My truck needed repairs and the clock was ticking. I could repair it myself as the oil sump was leaking. Checking the guide I needed a workshop. Nearest was in the wrong direction. So I decided to head to the correct drop off point and at least deliver the cargo. Clock was ticking and it would be a close call. I floored it! Arrived at delivery point and hopped out and ran to the man in the office to complete the job. I’d not detached the trailer! 5 mins remaining……. Leg it back to truck, unhitch and run back to office. Just in time! £6K in the bank. Then limped to nearest workshop and carried out repairs. Time for me and my character to get some well earned sleep. Now I know this sim has a few rough edges but the gameplay and addictive nature is top notch. I recommend to anyone vaguely interested… £21 well spent
I’m a sucker for a good trucking sim. And sim games in general. I’ve bought and played most of every trucking sim/game we’ve gotten on console over the years, and while I haven’t played this yet, I have to say - it looks like it might be the best we’ve gotten so far. From what I’ve seen from your video, a few things I’d like to see from the devs here are 1.) a performance mode, for sure! 2.) more ai traffic on the road, including maybe cops parked on side the road, and you could get tickets if you pass them speeding. I think it would be cool to see other truckers parked resting and driving. 3.) I think it would be cool if when you added oil and fluids to your truck, they made it like car mechanic sim, where it actually shows you literally holding the bottle and pouring the liquids out and into the area. And that also goes for like putting chains on your tires. It would be cool if you literally had to attach them to your tires. 4.) game definitely needs more truck options. There’s not a lot to choose from here. 5.) and with other trucking sims, I always said it would be cool to hear radio chatter on the radio. 6.) if this game had a multiplayer aspect to it, where you could see other players in the world doing their runs. That would be dope. A game called truck and logistics sim or something like that, came out recently and that’s how it is on there. If a small studio like that can accomplish it, these guys could. With that said, I think I’ll buy it. It looks good. Looks better than what we’ve had over the years.
It looks better than all the other truck / bus games we have on console. For the first time O watch your channel (this video) on my tv to have a better impression on what to expect instead the iPhone screen. Ok 44,99! Isn’t cheap and probably in September we have a fist time discount but I buy it. And hope my contribution helps the devs to develop the game even better (extra map dlc?) Thx for the honest review
Interested in this. Maybe in future the developers may want to explore the possibility of making it available for VR like psvr2 need more of these types of games for vr and this would suit my needs
Guys , It's £21 on xbox series.... they have said that £37 is a mistake and have contacted Sony to correct the issue and to hold off until they fix the pricing.

Great review Jason. Very well put together and explained. I bought the Xbox version due to having a steering wheel with that console. My Logitech works well with this game, but seem to choose the controller instead. I think it’s because there’s a lot of other things to do and works better having a controller all ready in hand. I bought the game for £21.57. Someone told me on Twitch this was an introduction offer and will go up in price, but don’t know when.
It is a really, really promising title. Already imho the best trucking game on the Xbox (not counting mudrunner etc) and the devs sound like they are going to keep supporting it. Just has a really nice sensibility to it all, and getting out and doing the rpg things makes it a really nice overall experience.
I have this one installing on my PS5 now, i know not expect much but hope is good enough for a chill gaming session. I wish the maker's of mudrunner decide to make a truck sim for consoles since they have everything to step up this genre.
I can't recommend this game no matter how much you love truck games, seriously buy mudrunner and forget every single truck game on consoles. I can't even even play this for more then 1hour, it's ugly, truck interiors are ugly, map is ugly. 4k does nothing for this even at 30fps. Yeah good concept but stay away from this.
As someone who spent 62$ for ps5 version and still haven't been refunded my money. I'm not happy with this to say the least. The mirrors are awful, it hiccups like no tomorrow, the AI crashes into me when I slow down and then I get fined for it. The AI barrel down the road going 1000mph and drift into my lane all the time! It has realistic features like the fueling, random trees you need to cut down and the whole seasons thing they have is cool. I haven't made it out of Summer yet and finding it hard to enjoy myself playing this game much further. It recently got a 2nd update for ps5 and haven't even checked it out yet. Might see tomorrow if it's more or less the same problems. Pretty sure all they fixed was it crashing or lagging whenever you enter a certain town that I probably haven't even got to yet lol. Just a huge disappointment for ps5 users who want an ATS type game and keep getting Euro trash BS or broken messes like this. I just hope they patch everything that needs fixing which is alot!
i bought the ps5 version of this game a few days ago, this is not my first experience of truck games on console, mud runner and snow runner look like the real deal but are so frustrating at times it becomes a chore to make any kind of progress,also got truck driver for ps4 which was such a let down in so many ways, i would love for alaskan road truckers on console to be the game i've been looking for, an enjoyable, immersive and rewarding game that allows me to really feel like an alaskan trucker.
The mirrors started to mess with my eyes. Frame drop is awful in them. There's zero reason for this on the latest consoles or PC. It's just devs not polishing their products. But that's gaming for the most part now.
I mean give it time lad 😂 your criticism is focused on an issue every single game has gotten wrong, it just takes a bit of playing and testing and it will eventually be optimised

Just going to say the video is great I own the game I love it but all in all great game glad you showed the game to everybody and I really wish they had a co-op mode or a multiplayer so I can play with at least three other friends Maps big enough❤❤❤❤❤
I downloaded it on xbox for $40 personally I think it's a great game so far only complaint is the lack of traffic especially being the only semi trailer on the road is weird 😅but other then that it's good 👍
l first brought on pc which wasn't that good but when l brought on PS5 it is so much better it is worth the money 10/10 there properly some little miner issues they to fix but otherwise love it especially the price of $40 is worth it
I think from a starting off theres some bits that need sorting but im here for it i like the fame dwspite its downs (and theres a few) but its good the radio tho now thats something else 😂😂😂
The biggest reason I haven't bought it yet is because of the spoiling food aspect. I can cope with the needing to eat but become a nervous wreck when I have to also manage food expiration. I like to buy in bulk to always be prepared but knowing it won't last stops me from doing it. I don't suppose there is a setting that disables it? Or is it not to much af an issue because hunger doesn't go down as quick?
Loved your review Jason and brought it straight on ps5 after watching. Wish i had gone on the alaskan road truckers fb page first though as turns out the £37 i paid is a mistake, so hopefully will get the price difference refunded once its sorted. Still love the game though, hope they do do optimisation on the mirrors too as like you said pretty unuseable atm
Thanks for the vid Jason! I was worried when I heard about the embargo. I thought for sure that this game was going to be another American nightmare situation 🤦🏽. Thankfully the game looks great! I'm really impressed with the graphics and gameplay. We finally have an actual trucking game on console. I just hope that they up the frame rate to 60fps and up the resolution in the mirror's soon. Other than that it's looking good 👍🏽. Update: After a few hours of playing the game. I'm really enjoying it. As far as the 30 fps it is the smoothest 30 fps I've ever seen. It feels more like 40 fps to me. The gameplay is fun. I haven't experienced any bugs. The game runs really smooth. For those of you on the fence, don't be this is a legit trucking game and it's on console! Start that truck up and start pulling loads! 💪🏽. Update: After about 6 hours of gameplay. I'm still really enjoying this game. A few small critiques I want to add that will help with emerson. Weight is a major factor in the trucking world. They should add load weight in the load description. They also should add icons to the mini map. That way you're not constantly pausing the game to look for shops etc. They also should add a feature that shows how much fuel you are actually using by showing your gas gauge filling up. Right now it's just a guessing game.
I'm glad you are enjoying it. I was frustrated by the embargo as I really wanted to tell everyone there was nothing to worry about, and the game was actually good.
@GametechUK Yeah I was worried because usually when games do that it's never a good thing. Especially not even letting you get early access after all the promotion for them you did. I think it was a bad move on their part because the game is actually good. They should've wanted you to stream it early to build the hype 🤷🏾♂️. I'm really impressed with the game. Idk if anyone else has experienced this but I’ve noticed anytime I try to even look at a new truck in the dealer menu on the HQ computer, the moment I press a on a truck it kicks me from the game to the console Home Screen. Hope it’s not a permanent problem but definitely not enjoyable. Overall the game is pretty good not perfect but despite some minor details is semi close to real life trucking.
I honestly am enjoying the game, the only thing I'm disappointed with is the inability to use my gear stick and lack of force feedback on my Logitech g29 wheel
I know this should not be a year to ask this but, no steering wheel (g923) on the PS5 on a trucking simulator? Taxi Life too. Is it that hard? The racing games can do it but the simulators can't???
I have to say I have put about 5 hours into the Ps5 version and I’m bloody loving it. The sound of the truck is perfect, the visuals good. It plays well, I mean I don’t race around the map, which may cause more popping if people do that, I drive as you do, so about 30 mph (still think they need to amend the speedo) and just relaxing The Truck Stop Radio is actually a cool addition. I am really impressed and for me this has to be the only trucking game worth anyone’s time. Especially for the money too. Hey did you hear they had the price wrong on Ps5 ? I paid over £30 for it, I also bought it on the Xbox S which I will try in a bit. But the Xbox was just over £20. Perhaps a free Custom Pack DLC for PlayStation users who paid more rather than refunding people money ? But seeing you play this over the last year, I knew this was going to be up my street. Sure there is some frame drops and there is some popping, but hey I come from the Spectrum era, I love this game. The immersion, the sound, the radio, the long deliveries, the truck maintaining and hooking up trailers, grabbing a coffee in thr shop, it’s just brilliant. 5 stars from me on the Ps Store. I'm pissed off I live in Illinois we had a little tornado my lights been off for 4 days I was at Winter on Alaskan road truckers I can't even play until my lights on I am grateful things wasn't worse but Im trying to play
I would pleased if the following things would implement into the game: We could turn off hud elements we want. The virtual gauge in left bottom corner and the minimap on the other side are bothering me because these things are on dashboard as well. But if I turn off the hud I can't see my gear level (I prefer not to use automatic shifting), the problems of the truck, the time, seasons, etc. So devs should put more information onto the dashboard. A periodical option would be good for windshield cleaner. The AI cars can react to my truck but not to my trailer and they can hit it. There would be good volume switches up and down for the radio. Btw when I get out from the truck the music from the radio become suddenly silent. A fade away effect for radio voice would be good for better immersion. And a couple of times the game dropped me out, sometimes the noise of steps of my character was silent or my truck engine noice stucked even if I stopped the engine so at these events I had to go back to the main menu. And there would be good if we could check all of our inventories (in the HQ, in the truck, all of it) any time so in a shop we could check what we have in different places. These things could make the game better but I like it already.
Hate to say it but im feeling its gonna be a flop, first off paid the 41 dollars which was too much no doubt, i better get a refund but i doubt it, and not only that i encountered a crash dealing with the computer at the base just after the first job. Was super excited to get to play it on my ps5 just to walk away with disappointment in less than 30 minutes.
I’m not remotely a framerate nerd, but on PS5 this game has noticeable dips in framerate constantly, driving never feels smooth. After having played this for a few hours you will definitely have been aware of this - shameful of you mate to put out such a deliberately dishonest review.

@@Adrian_oS Try changing some of the settings for controller, or maybe turning it slower. I of course know what you mean, but you have way more control over a wheel, hence the slower speed.
I much prefer to drop abit of graphics over 60fps, i always find 30fps starts to give me eye ache, almost like my eyes are trying to add in the other 30fps, but thats each to their own preference, When i watched you play the PC version, i noticed you using gear stick, i cant seem to get mine working, also, i noticed you could quick look left/right within the cab view, how did you do that, im finding it frustrating having to constantly pick up my controller to look left/right before exiting a junction, Fanantec on the Series X

I spent $40 on it.. When it dropped on PS5 Honestly? Yes it has problems.. Frame rate issues? I only see in the mirrors but to me I still can use them.. 30FPS aint that bad? I honestly could care less.. Just last year on PS4 all my games were 30FPS so.. Eh Im enjoying the game personally, I find it fun.. All I want is the graphics to be a bit sharper, the pop up sorted and the mirrors to be a bit clearer

Such a cool game. It's the radio station thats the icing on the cake. It a real live station and some of the songs are proper bangers!!
The mirrors and the way the steering wheel turn look super janky, but I like its more TSW then snowrunner.
There are A LOT of bugs, but I still like it. I trust they will fix it.

Good question, but I prefer lately to sit in my front room and game on comfy sofa on my 65-inch tv .. especially games like these..
Problam with me is I suffer from cronic back pain so find it painfull sitting at pc for longer periods but if I could I deffo would prefer pc too

Mirrors are a disgrace I don't have a 4k tv it's choppy also there's alot of updates needed. Gane already crashed on my ps5.

I downloaded it on xbox for $40 personally I think it's a great game so far only complaint is the lack of traffic especially being the only semi trailer on the road is weird 😅but other then that it's good 👍
l first brought on pc which wasn't that good but when l brought on PS5 it is so much better it is worth the money 10/10 there properly some little miner issues they to fix but otherwise love it especially the price of $40 is worth it

How is it on the xbox series?
The biggest reason I haven't bought it yet is because of the spoiling food aspect. I can cope with the needing to eat but become a nervous wreck when I have to also manage food expiration. I like to buy in bulk to always be prepared but knowing it won't last stops me from doing it. I don't suppose there is a setting that disables it? Or is it not to much af an issue because hunger doesn't go down as quick?
I'm going to wait for a 60fps update, I don't mind 30fps on lcd screens, but on a 55 inch oled 30fps is just extremely jarring and stuttery

Thanks for the vid Jason! I was worried when I heard about the embargo. I thought for sure that this game was going to be another American nightmare situation 🤦🏽. Thankfully the game looks great! I'm really impressed with the graphics and gameplay. We finally have an actual trucking game on console. I just hope that they up the frame rate to 60fps and up the resolution in the mirror's soon. Other than that it's looking good 👍🏽.
Update: After a few hours of playing the game. I'm really enjoying it. As far as the 30 fps it is the smoothest 30 fps I've ever seen. It feels more like 40 fps to me. The gameplay is fun. I haven't experienced any bugs.
The game runs really smooth. For those of you on the fence, don't be this is a legit trucking game and it's on console! Start that truck up and start pulling loads! 💪🏽.
Update: After about 6 hours of gameplay. I'm still really enjoying this game. A few small critiques I want to add that will help with emerson. Weight is a major factor in the trucking world. They should add load weight in the load description. They also should add icons to the mini map. That way you're not constantly pausing the game to look for shops etc. They also should add a feature that shows how much fuel you are actually using by showing your gas gauge filling up. Right now it's just a guessing game.
I'm glad you are enjoying it. I was frustrated by the embargo as I really wanted to tell everyone there was nothing to worry about, and the game was actually good.
@GametechUK Yeah I was worried because usually when games do that it's never a good thing. Especially not even letting you get early access after all the promotion for them you did. I think it was a bad move on their part because the game is actually good. They should've wanted you to stream it early to build the hype 🤷🏾♂️. I'm really impressed with the game. Finally we console players have a legit trucking game!! Thanks again Jason for always looking out for the console players 💪🏽.
Idk if anyone else has experienced this but I’ve noticed anytime I try to even look at a new truck in the dealer menu on the HQ computer, the moment I press a on a truck it kicks me from the game to the console Home Screen. Hope it’s not a permanent problem but definitely not enjoyable. Overall the game is pretty good not perfect but despite some minor details is semi close to real life trucking.

I have to say I have put about 5 hours into the Ps5 version and I’m bloody loving it.
The sound of the truck is perfect, the visuals good.
It plays well, I mean I don’t race around the map, which may cause more popping if people do that,
I drive as you do, so about 30 mph (still think they need to amend the speedo) and just relaxing
The Truck Stop Radio is actually a cool addition.
I am really impressed and for me this has to be the only trucking game worth anyone’s time.
Especially for the money too.

I paid over £30 for it, I also bought it on the Xbox S which I will try in a bit.
But the Xbox was just over £20.
Perhaps a free Custom Pack DLC for PlayStation users who paid more rather than refunding people money ?
But seeing you play this over the last year, I knew this was going to be up my street.
Sure there is some frame drops and there is some popping, but hey I come from the Spectrum era, I love this game.
The immersion, the sound, the radio, the long deliveries, the truck maintaining and hooking up trailers, grabbing a coffee in thr shop, it’s just brilliant.
5 stars from me on the Ps Store.

I’m sure there will be some people who will moan, but i think it’s great.

I'm pissed off I live in Illinois we had a little tornado my lights been off for 4 days I was at Winter on Alaskan road truckers I can't even play until my lights on I am grateful things wasn't worse but Im trying to play
I would pleased if the following things would implement into the game:
We could turn off hud elements we want. The virtual gauge in left bottom corner and the minimap on the other side are bothering me because these things are on dashboard as well.
But if I turn off the hud I can't see my gear level (I prefer not to use automatic shifting), the problems of the truck, the time, seasons, etc. So devs should put more information onto the dashboard.
A periodical option would be good for windshield cleaner.
The AI cars can react to my truck but not to my trailer and they can hit it.
There would be good volume switches up and down for the radio. Btw when I get out from the truck the music from the radio become suddenly silent. A fade away effect for radio voice would be good for better immersion.
And a couple of times the game dropped me out, sometimes the noise of steps of my character was silent or my truck engine noice stucked even if I stopped the engine so at these events I had to go back to the main menu.
And there would be good if we could check all of our inventories (in the HQ, in the truck, all of it) any time so in a shop we could check what we have in different places.
These things could make the game better but I like it already.

Hate to say it but im feeling its gonna be a flop, first off paid the 41 dollars which was too much no doubt, i better get a refund but i doubt it, and not only that i encountered a crash dealing with the computer at the base just after the first job. Was super excited to get to play it on my ps5 just to walk away with disappointment in less than 30 minutes.

I’m not remotely a framerate nerd, but on PS5 this game has noticeable dips in framerate constantly, driving never feels smooth. After having played this for a few hours you will definitely have been aware of this - shameful of you mate to put out such a deliberately dishonest review.

Honestly I don't see a difference, other than I am on controller whereas on PC I am on the wheel.

@@Adrian_oS Try changing some of the settings for controller, or maybe turning it slower. I of course know what you mean, but you have way more control over a wheel, hence the slower speed.
Brother bought it me on Series S and it's so cheap that he bought it himself on his Series X. That's how you price a game.

I much prefer to drop abit of graphics over 60fps, i always find 30fps starts to give me eye ache, almost like my eyes are trying to add in the other 30fps, but thats each to their own preference,
