Biggest regret for us was putting pax wardrobes from IKEA in our bedroom, they are massive, they dominate the room and the doors fell off within a couple of years. Best thing we did was create a laundry room. The garage was converted into a extra room by the previous owners and we didn't really have a purpose for it but we put the dryer in there with baskets and big clothes horses and I love the fact that it's not all in my kitchen and I can shut the door on it 😊
Fellow dog owner here- really jealous of your outside dog wash area! You forget to mention about it right next to your pantry where you can put the muddy stuff straight in the wash! ❤
Your home looks incredible, really love it. My husband has put those light sensors in our hallway when you come in the door. which is great especially in winter when it’s dark early and you open the front door and the light comes on, stops trying to find the light switch when it’s dark. Xx
If your washing machine seems especially noisy it’s always worth checking if it needs levelling ( the feet will adjust by screwing/unscrewing them). Often that’s all that’s needed. Those anti vibration mats you’ve got look like a good idea too.
Regarding mood lights, we have light bulbs (here in Sweden) that connects to an app and fits any kind of lamp designed for that size of bulb. The fun thing with those are that you don't need a specific outlet or somesuch. It works anywhere. The one in our living room is just with dimmer but the one in the bedroom has different mood seytings and such. Kind of expensive bulb but sooo worth it. Also it is a LED so points for that ;)
You two have worked so hard, we moved here yr and half ago and onto final room, the kitchen, taken longer than any other room as doing it ourselves eves n weekends ❤❤
Love your breakfast bar 👌 My regret is a pergola over our hot tub, looks great (if you live in a hot dry climate) but should have gone for solid roof as it rains so much in uk 🤦🏻♀️
We moved into our new build late last year. It is a house we designed to fit around the curve of the land. One of our best decisions was to combine the laundry and the family bathroom and to have the toilet in a separate powder room.
Yes! We only have one bathroom and had to renovate it. We decided to make a literal water closet inside, for the toilet. It's made having one bathroom manageable.
The best thing we did when extending 35 yrs ago was put in a laundry chute in our en-suite which happens to be above the utility. Biggest regret is letting my DH talk me into a handle less kitchen and so many drawers! I envy you your outside sink and the external hot tap. Would love that.
Love watching all your stuff Emily . We’ve been renovating for 2 years now .. nothing as major as yours but we’re doing most of it ourselves and it’s driving me nuts now 🤪.. I’m laughing because I was was about to suggest you hang the big rugs over your bed ( something I use to do when I had a four poster) it’s so handy ! I also had glass made for my table and am planning on ordering for the bedsides desks etc . I’m taking lots of tips from you for my kitchen when it finally gets done ! Especially the breakfast/coffee station 😍
the house looks so lovely! gonna take notes on some of these tips, thank you ✍🏻✍🏻 it’s also just so cute to see you and your husband flirting and your face lighting up looking at him, relationships goals forever 🫠
The shower shelves are niche boxes and my husband is a tiler and often puts low ones near the ground to rest your foot in to shave your legs too! A glass maker is a glazier 😊
Hey Emily, hope you’re all well. I’m happy, good and well thank you good evening love this Top home investments and regrets video. I’ve really enjoyed this Top home investments and regrets things. I love your dress! The black cooker tap and the kitchen is beautiful! Glass on top of the dinning table is handy to clean with the spray wipe and done and other glass cleaners too. I have the limited edition pink tulips and white jasmine scent and definitely smalls so good. Washable rugs are incredible to throw into the washing machine once they are dirty. Electric switches next to the sofa to charge phones or laptops too. I have a 4 plugs lead next to our sofa, so it easy to charge laptops and phones while I’m working on my laptop or phone. Chargeable mood lights make your downstairs look amazing at night time. Black window frames look great! The kitchen handles are so pretty and stunning. I love it when you put the shower dials next to the shelf and you don’t get wet and soaked. I love the bathroom shelf’s folding celling looks brilliant. Also the bedroom windows look so nice. Rail in the laundry room is really cool. Heated radiators are really lovely. I have a heated radiator in my bathroom is so handy because to hang things up. The hocks in the laundry room are fabulous. Automatic lights are great but I don’t have automatic lights in my bathroom. I have a normal light in my bathroom. I have drawers in my kitchen and they are so good to see what things I have at back of the drawers as well. Great tips! I’m seeing radiators in the background and it got me thinking, do you have underfloor heating anywhere in your house? We’re considering it but it’s obviously pretty expensive… thanks!
Loved the lighting tips Emily and Matt. Going to look into some battery type lamps for the lounge to make a cosy vibe at night. Not that l need more help falling asleep on the armchair 😋 Thanks, till next time 🌟
Hi Emily and matt brilliant video as always you definitely shouldn't have any regrets your home is beautiful keep the videos coming you beautiful pair ❤ xxx
You have a beautiful home🏡 and give me such inspiration. I'm looking at some hardened glass to protect our table (great idea). Did you request a certain depth and type of glass?
Awsome Idea 💡 we have an automatic light switch for the bathroom saves some $$$ because with kids or even adults they forget to turn off the lights. And as always every one has the oh man I should of painted this color or done this rug but you live and learn and later on you can always change them when ware out 😊
I wanted to get the vibration mat for my washing machine but I think the link in the description box is wrong. Can you provide correct link please? Thx so much! Loved the video! ❤
Do you get mould or any moisture in the utility room when drying clothes/sheets? Wondered if you might have a humidifier or similar to fight against mould and mildew xx
I so regret doing the hall first instead of last, the paint is ruined! And a conservatory as it’s too hot in summer and too cold in winter plus it’s a nightmare to clean up 😂
Because the cost of electric and how expensive it is to run a tumble dryer in the UK so it’s nice to air dry :) My electric bill is currently £343 pm, don’t know what that is in dollars?
It's not common to use a clothes dryer in much of Europe. A huge perk is that clothes last longer when you just hang dry. And the energy bill of course. I spent over a decade in Germany; upon returning to the US, it feels weird to use a clothes dryer. I don't own one, even tho we're a family with small children.
In Australia it's much more common to line dry too. Only a recent thing for most people to have a dryer and most people only use theirs for bad weather etc
I love the idea of the glass topper on the table. But does it slide or is it heavy enough that it wont? Your home is really beautiful❤ you did an amazing job!
amazing & very functional well organized home❤❤❤❤❤❤❤i hope next time ill see your in house cinema so noises will not be heard while watching your fave movies ❤❌❌♥️♥️
Emily & Matt should have a fixer up show!

That is such a good idea - shower controls not under the shower! Black window frames look stylish so the paint worked.😊
Your house is beautiful and so much thought has gone into it every detail is so lovely xx

My Dad has always put toughened glass on all our table and table-like things... It's truly a game changer
Fab idea to do. My hubby has put up a rail in my utility room now to hang shirts etc on. X

Always love your videos. Do you have underfloor heating downstairs? If so how do you do the floor sockets?
The sink outside is so clever ❤

Love your kitchen. Please share where you bought your dress from.
Shower control tip fabulous thank you x
I so regret doing the hall first instead of last, the paint is ruined! And a conservatory as it’s too hot in summer and too cold in winter plus it’s a nightmare to clean up 😂
Yes we’ve left the hall till last as Matt said it’ll get so much traffic from trades so should be last, especially the landing and stair carpets x
Emily, Everything is SO beautiful!!!❤ Question…Where did you get your toaster?
It’s years old but Delonghi xx
Very useful, thanks for sharing ❤
Thanks for sharing I have a usb powered sensor light in my bathroom from Amazon cheap and so handy

Hi Emily! Fab tips. Where are the black internal doors from please? 😊
They're from Leader Doors. Thanks for watching xx

Curious to why a lot of people in UK hang dry. Is it expensive to just fry all your things? Love love your laundry room!
Because the cost of electric and how expensive it is to run a tumble dryer in the UK so it’s nice to air dry :) My electric bill is currently £343 pm, don’t know what that is in dollars?

It’s so heavy it doesn’t move xx
We love our jacuzzi and not so much the floor outside

Hello from Scotland 🏴 💕💕💕
What colour wood stain do you have please?
How do you secure the glass topper on the furniture
We don’t, it’s so heavy it stays in place x
@@mrsemilynorris I think I would have to have something to secure it just in case especially with kids x

Not at all as it’s so heavy x
