He absolutely sells that line. This could have been an easy paycheck, but Curry brings it like he always did. He understood exactly what movie he was making.

Everything else is just a rehash of the first one, the only new thing is Kevin cheating on the hotel staff...and the "I love you" scene is just hillarious. But also the moment when he tells the mom than she shouldn't look for Kevin in the streets.
Absolute freaking classic; makes you wish for Tim Curry to have actually played the Grinch. Closest we've had to that is Maestro Forte (on the basis that he was also an anti-Christmas villain).
I’ve watched all 6.. 3 is good, 4 is mediocre at best, 5 is decent and 6.. wasn’t horrible but isn’t much better than 4. My biggest complaint was recreating many stunts from the first movie
Kevin’s behavior makes an absolute nightmare amount of sense when you think about how traumatized a child would be if they were accidentally abandoned not once, *but twice* on a major holiday and *both times* was forced to fight for their survival against two full grown adults
True but tbf the ease with which he immediately took to setting up deathtraps and hunting those adults for sport suggests he may already have been a sociopath 😅
That scene with Marv when he's being electrocuted has always stuck with me. I always thought the scream and shift to a skeleton was hilarious. I still do.
I've always found it horrific, and still do. There's other things I appreciated about these movies, and that's the great thing - they offer something for everyone, no matter their age or personality.

I worked at AMC theaters when this &Aladdin was out. I'd sneek in to watch for a few every time it was playing. The crowd reactions to the death trap scenes were golden!!!
This one always felt more fun than the first, which I assume is because they figured out that everyone loved the slapstick murder so much from the first one that they needed to spread more of that through the rest of the movie instead of holding it all for the final act.
I can actually live with HA 1&2 but except the 3rd one. The 3rd one wasn’t bad if people wouldn’t have been lured into watching it with the Home alone name on it

Pesci and Stern are both deeply unappreciated for their tour de force comedic performances in these films. Slapstick never gets respect, but the films wouldn't work without the wonderful way they express the cartoonish levels of pain Harry and Marv are subjected to.
Still one of my favorite Christmas movies. It really hits for me since I grew up in the NYC area and I have fond memories of the tree almost every year at Rockefeller Center. Oh and my friend called this movie "Home Alone: The Death Gauntlet" and I totally agree with it.
I think the OG ‘Home Alone’ Movies are so beautifully made that it added to the silliness that could easily make it crass. It was a nice balance. Also, the aesthetic is unparalleled. P.S. Catherine O’Hara is an icon, a legend and she is the moment.
You didn’t even mention the biggest absurdity: one year after experiencing the worst-case scenario of a family waking up late, they STILL only have one alarm clock in the house.

The rest of the movie would be the McCallister adults on trial for serial child neglect and whatever charge is laid on you if your child murders 2 people with a Rube Goldberg machine.

I think the videos are still on the channel.

I liked this movie better than the 1st Home Alone. Kevin's traps on the criminals were much better. It was also pretty cool to see Kevin living independently at the New York hotel and throughout Manhattan like a grown-up would.

Just don't try it again again, but with a different child and family - HOME ALONE 3 … or again again again, but where Kevin and his family are played by different actors in a cheap made-for-TV movie - HOME ALONE: TAKING BACK THE HOUSE … or again again again again, but in another cheap made-for-TV movie with a different child and family - HOME ALONE: THE HOLIDAY HEIST … and definitely not again again again again again, but in a Disney+ movie with a British family where the child protagonist is an evil little brat and the two burglars are the ones to root for. That would just be stupid. - HOME SWEET HOME ALONE … Seriously, how could this franchise sink so low?”
Watching Pesci desperately trying to not drop the F word for two hours is at least half the fun of the first two movies in this series. (Incidentally the only two good ones)
It will always get me when Fuller hears that Kevin might have to sleep on the third floor, takes a sip of his Pepsi, and with a knowing gleam in his eye says, "Yeah, with me." Like he's loading up on fluids and gets some kind of joy out of knowing Kevin will have to deal with him pissing the bed. Even subtleties like that in this film are sadistic wtf 🤣
The way Kevin spends Christmas day in the first two home alone movies is how I think I'll have to spend Christmas day from now on and I've had to spend it like that for the last 10 years. Edit:I'm probably have to spend Christmas like this from now on.
You missed a couple of deaths: one where Harry gets launched into the air and lands on a car, and one where Marv gets crushed by a bookshelf full of paint cans.
This was the first film I ever saw at the cinema. I have a vague memory of not knowing what was going on but I remember the pigeon lady scared me. Was probably 3 going on 4 years old.

The real great achievement of this movie was getting Joe Pesci to play a bad guy without cursing.

It really fun to watch the first 2 Home Alone's with kids. I watched it with my nephews, and they love the slap stick humor.

The Pigeon Lady was the MVP of the movie.
It will always get me when Fuller hears that Kevin might have to sleep on the third floor, takes a sip of his Pepsi, and with a knowing gleam in his eye says, "Yeah, with me." Like he's loading up on fluids and gets some kind of joy out of knowing Kevin will have to deal with him pissing the bed. Even subtleties like that in this film are sadistic wtf 🤣

This was the first film I ever saw at the cinema. I have a vague memory of not knowing what was going on but I remember the pigeon lady scared me. Was probably 3 going on 4 years old.
