I started keeping a detailed record of all the adjustments I made to my espresso settings on my Magnifica bean-to-cup machine. In my notebook, I documented each change step by step, including temperature, intensity, the amount of ground coffee (in milligrams), extraction time, and grind size. This systematic approach made it much easier to dial in the perfect espresso and eliminated much of the frustration.
Thank you so much! I’ve gone through too much coffee, trying to get it right. You have helped me to understand the importance of temperature, time and volume. My morning coffee is quite delicious now.
Thank you for this, I just got mine today and it was either making tiny pucks with weak coffee, or massive pucks but no coffee was coming out. Your video saved me and thankfully I had a big bag of cheap beans to test on to get the perfect grind 😁 I know I may have to adjust when I get nicer beans, but at least now I know how.
Thank you so much for the information. I'm most likely going to buy this during the holiday sales. I'm glad to know i can fine tune it to make excellent espresso
Awesome! I have the 4400 and I’m trying to get it dialed in. Can you also show the difference between beens that are too oily for automatic and not too oily. I love dark roast but I’m afraid any sheen is too much for these machines.
Pls tell us is this magnifica evo better then those philips. I can't deside go for EVO or philips 3300/5400 if the magnifica here gives really almost 15g at max volume, it's impressive. some say that the de longhi gives a fuller and better coffee taste, and the philips has a big advantage when it comes to cleaning the milk jug. although it is also an important item if magnifica make a better cream and philips make a worse airy foam. and if you can also put a decibel test for the philips while it grinds (the silicone on the lid is great), makes coffee and makes milk, because that, along with cleaning, is its biggest advantage that I don't wake anyone up in the morning, but if there is a small difference, then maybe you would rather buy the EVO , thank you @@Cafelista_Coffee
Hello Colin! I have been using the same machine for 10 months with pleasure. All of a sudden my coffee started to taste very bitter. I have not changed anything (temperature, grind setting, bean setting, water level) in this period. Also I use mostly the same beans. I started to taste the bitter coffee when using different brand beans (lavazza). I immediately stopped using these beans and switched back to my old beans again. Still the coffee tastes bitter. I clean the machine, diffuser etc regularly. What can be the problem? I look forward hearing from you!
@ thanks for your reaction and also thank you for putting your time and effort for an amazing video!! The pucks are nice and solid. When the puck bin is empty; the first one or two pucks break which is obvious I guess because of the fall down haha. The rest of the pucks are nice and thick, not watery powdered or dry
@ i've set back the grinder gradually to 4,5 and after 10-15 cups the coffee with the old beans start to taste almost normal, but still bittery. I have taken apart the diffuser as well and cleaned it thoroughly. It was already clean tho and the machine is not that old. Can it be that the lavazza bad tasting beans remains are still in the grinder somewhat? Note: I mostly drink lungo coffee's
Great video. 2 questions if I may. When removing the frother from the unit do you need to press the button on the side of the frother I assume no and it’s just a pull out as with the hot water attachment. There is nothing on the manual about this. But in one of their official TH-cam videos the guy presses the button to release it from the machine. When inserting the connecter back into the frother unit after cleaning do you need to press the button on the frother as you do when removing the connecter from the frother. On their website they have two manuals one says to push the button when inserting back and the other manual says to press the button then push the connector back in. Thanks!
Hi, If you want the precise weight you can start your espresso, with your preferred settings and cancel the drink just after the grinder is done. The coffee will fall in the container and now you can weight it (as long as it's been completely dry)
if the magnifica here gives really almost 14-15g at max volume, it's impressive. some say that the de longhi gives a fuller and better coffee taste with more crema, and the philips watery, but has a big advantage when it comes to cleaning the milk jug. although it is also an important item if magnifica make a better cream and philips make a worse airy foam. and if you can also put a decibel test for the philips while it grinds (the silicone on the lid is great), makes coffee and makes milk, because that, along with cleaning, is its biggest advantage that I don't wake anyone up in the morning, but if there is a small difference, then maybe you would rather buy the EVO , Sory double post. Hi, I usually get around 13g to 14g with the Evo on a single espresso, max intensity. That's pretty good! As for the quality, I found it better than Philips. It is still a pressurized espresso, so you won't find the same body or crema, but it's pretty good for a full auto. Between the 2 I'd get the Magnifica Evo.
@@Cafelista_Coffee thx, i will go for de longhi for sure then. Did you try dinamica? I found dinamica lattecrema with lcd for 500e new in shop sl I think thats the best deal probably. Or wait for black friday but I doubt it can be lower then that. Dinamica plus is around 700e
On the grinder 4 setting it took my machine 65 seconds to extract...highest temperature. Good coffee beans, and its bitter, and still watery taste. What's wrong there?
@@Cafelista_Coffee Hi, I followed all the instructions aunt cleaner the recently again, but my issue is from the beginning. Even if i use highest temp, the max value and use the crunch on 1 (from 7 to 1). Is not creamy. Is it possible because my Coffee Beans are oiled and very dark?
Directions on changing shot volume are unclear... If I press And hold it just starts the process. If I press and hold while the process is started it cancels it.

Hey Connor,
It's a good way to start and adjust the grinder, you should have great coffee for the next bag ;)

Don't hesitate to come back if you have any questions after you get the machine ;)
Please just a question. How to make a lungo espresso with Delonghi Magnifica Evo?
I’d love to see you do some videos like this for Philips 4400-5400👍🏼
I have the 5400, I'll make one soon and I'll try to get the 5500 next month 😉

Thank you for the great video and tips. Would you happen to know if the grinder can be cleaned if need be?
Thanks a lot!
No easy way, unfortunately. I use supergrindz from Urnex for a quick clean. To deep clean, you'll have to open the machine.

What grind setting should I start the first extraction at?
Hi,
I usually start at 4 or4.5 on DeLonghi. Then try a few espressos and adjust accordingly.
Is there option to make the espresso deliver before the froth? Thanks
Hey,
Not on those unfortunately ;)
How do do the regular coffee?
Hi,
Do you mean a longer coffee than espresso ?

How long is the coffee extraction when the pump starts ?
How is the flow ?
How to restore the quantity of a drink after adjustment back to default? Without factory reset

I don't think you can do that without a factory reset.
Why is my coffee and espresso not so creamy? What should i check or change??

Press and hold and released when you have the desired amount, it should work.
