    Ok, so, I need to say this to you two. Since the first of the year I have been listing to your youtube, as, I am coming back to the church. I am so very great full of your help. I live in Alpine Wyoming and work at a bar. The church here has been beyond kind, but I cant make it some Sundays because I work till 3am sometimes on Saturdays. I am so happy when I see your smiles, I am so happy when I hear stories about 100 book of mormons bought, or when he wrights notes in his book of mormon instead of a note sheet. Keep up the lords work. Because of you, I have something to help me when church is unavailable. Thank you, from the arc.

      I’ve worked nights for many years also and really hardly ever feel inactive since everything has been online! ❤❤ Ive not been in two years! Because of having to travel home 5 hrs on Sunday , so I so relate. In the past, One way that I did get myself to church ( even though I was tired on Sunday morning and if I didn’t have to work Sunday night) I asked for a calling that was needed on Sunday, usually primary. Once I was committed I was motivated to show up for the children. Just a thought, returning to church is a huge step! Great job and I agree that having so many online resources to keep our thoughts on Christ is such a blessing. ❤❤❤

    I would say Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He doesn’t show up different, we show up different for Him in the summer when our schedules are different. He’s always with us. We may see Him in different ways, different lights, different circumstances but He’s always the same. We have to be more intentional in the summer when we get busy and out of routine.

    The fact that we have our own will allows us the opportunity to voluntarily align it with God's will

    The not true part is in v3 where he is saying that they don’t need to do anything and that they should be supported by the people. The devil teaches truth mixed with nontruth.

    That new Nehor scripture reminds me of what some Protestants teach: profess a belief in Christ and all as well, you will be saved. "Works don't save you only the Grace of God does," which on its head sounds true if you don't see the rest of what they are implying when they say it

    I had a few questions about these chapters.
    In Mosiah 29, why did the people appoint judges over themselves instead of
    waiting for God to tell them to appoint judges. Unlike the Book of Mormon,
    Deuteronomy 16:18 and Exodus 18:13-27, for example, shows it was God who
    specifically told them to appoint judges.
    Alma 3:18-19 says, "Now the Amlicites knew not that they were fulfilling
    the words of God when they began to mark themselves in their foreheads;
    nevertheless they had come out in open rebellion against God; therefore
    it was expedient that the curse should fall upon them. Now I would that
    ye should see that they brought upon themselves the curse; and even so
    doth every man that is cursed bring upon himself his own condemnation".
    Did the skin of the Amlicites also become dark like the Lamanites or
    was the red mark on their forehead considered their only curse? Was
    there another curse from God that came upon them after they marked
    themselves with red?
    Alma explains in 3:6-7 that the visible sign of the curse (dark skin)
    was placed on the Lamanites by God centuries earlier (in the era when
    Lehi and his family left Jerusalem).
    Why didn't Lehi, Nephi, or subsequent Nephites make this known in their
    writings long before Alma came on the scene?

      To answer your last question Nephi does mention this. 2 Nephi 21: the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them. Also, Lehi dies before the Nephites and Lamanites separate.

      @@Blu3Flam1ng0 Thank you. Looks like you meant 2 Nephi 5:21.
      After another glance, it appears 2 Nephi 5 and Alma 3 refer to two different groups
      that God cursed with dark skin. I can explain if you didn't observe that too.

      The definition as I understand it is that it means that someone pretends to be a religious leader, but they're doing it to receive praise and literally be worshippe- not to worship God .. possibly kind of like some televangelists we see and a lot of other church leaders that became leaders maybe With a righteous goal to begin with, but became prideful or power hungry at some point and wanted the followers to "bow down" to them

    Disappointed in this video. I was hoping for more than an infantile level of understanding of the scriptures. To begin Mosiah II was a failure of a leader and had awful instincts in terminating the rule of the kings. In fact within only 5 years, the people had gone through a civil war that led to the death of 19k dead Nephites in the first battle and likely tens of thousands of dead in the following battle. This civil war then led to decades of a power imbalance in which the Lamanites always had the upper hand. In fact, this civil war was such a disaster that Alma II had to abdicate his seat and spend decades regaining many who had fallen away from the church that he was the face of. Bottom line, I think that there is a lot of group think at this channel, and it would be nice to see some higher order thoughts than what were presented here.

      😂I don’t think that’s the purpose of this video my brother, this video is more about discipleship than scholarship.

    • @jaredempey5706
      @jaredempey5706 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @clarakesi you understand that a disciple is a student of a teacher. Therefore the terms scholar and disciple mean essentially the same thing, so you are talking in nonsense. It is impossible for us to avoid the failures of the past if we don't gain an accurate understanding of events or even the basic meaning of words

      I have found so much knowledge from listening to David and Grace but their approach is not for everyone...please don't be critical because they DO touch many hearts! There are several other podcasts on TH-cam for those that need a more intellectual, deeper approach to the scriptures...you should try them instead.

      Have you ever thought that what David said about Mosiah being like a type for God/ Jesus was awesome? God gave us agency. Life here on Earth right now kind of looks like the situation of the nephites there. Yeah, agency, people chose badly. Remember that during the reign of King Benjamin he had to put in so much effort to establish peace? And he was a king. Remember how the very first Nephi was a king and had many wars with the Lamanites? I guess it was not about the system in place. What Mosiah did was ensure that they did not just blame a king for their bad choices. They became fully accountable. And I just love how in this podcast the discussion is so intimate and down to practical, likening the scriptures to ourselves. I understand your frustration, but if you try hard, you will find some pearls in this podcast. I hope that helps you to reconsider your view of Mosiah, because he was truly a great guy, as his people thought. Best, Marci from Brazil

      David and Grace teach the scriptures to high school seminary students. I appreciate knowing those students are getting a wonderful taste of the spirit of these scriptures. I am thinking their seminary lessons are similar to their podcast but with ample time for student discussion about the importance of points they bring out here. This podcast is one of at least four I listen to each week. Between them all I get a deeper understanding of the scriptures. Some skim the surface and some dig deeper. I suggest getting a few other podcasts to enhance your learning if this doesn’t fill your desire of learning.
