I Do my best to keep my covenants. This allows the spirit to be with me more fully. When i feel a red flag, I know it's the spirit warning me and I back away, regardless of whether I can discern at that moment or not because it usually takes me a little bit to figure out what exactly Satan is doing. Better for me to listen to the small nagging, take the time to figure out why there's a nagging, and then proceed with a corrected course.
This segment was exactly what I needed to hear. Todays world we are having ideology shoved down our throat’s so people will “feel” good about their choices and relieve their accountability because they have “public approval”. Thank you Taylor for this true insight. You have given me ammo for myself and points to share w/others. Truly the scriptures in the Book of Mormon are imo more relevant for us right now. 💕🤗
I always learn something new in these amazing lessons. And from the comments, thanks. How lucky we are each week. Thanks Br. Griffin, and all involved. Glad these lessons have a newer touch still. If I can I watch BOTH. (Older and newer lessons on these chapters). THANK YOU.
This chapter sheds light on our day. We may not like the agency of many who seek public approval and even celebration of their choices, which we may say is being "shoved down our throats," but it does not justify raising up a dictator who vows to force his will and idea of agency on all people. With agency comes accountability . . . to God, not an elected dictator. Your powerful insight is always appreciated, and the lessons are always timely.
Thank you so much. I am enjoying the Gospel Learning app daily. It builds my faith and testimony and helps to increase my understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Tyler - thank you so much in helping us learn and know that we just need to keep doing what we can in this world to help. You never cease to amaze me in how you interpret the scriptures.
Thank you for each one of your videos. You give such inspiration and insight. We are blessed to even have George Washington say, We should have no kings in this land, government. I love that where we are the rulers should know the scriptures and understand what happened with the kings... Judges did much better. Looking at out church, Who's the only real King? And telling Prophets and Apostles? Jesus Christ. President even are being told by the Prophet that is told by Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father What a beautiful line.of ruling Scriptures help us to balance our personal life 🙏 16:51
Thank you for the emphasis on agency and revealing the comparisons to the Devil. It's helpful to be reminded of the fact that Satan is trying so hard to destroy us so we're aware of his tactics and to make sure we're following Christ ❤
There is clearly good and evil in this world. So many, including the devil, try to blur the lines and try to say “evil is good, good is evil, and those who don’t agree are intolerant bigots.” Thank you for your courage and encouragement.
My Muslim friends need this message. My challenge now is to help them and others differentiate between what are Godly attributes verses demonic characteristics. I am so grateful for these teachings. Thank you Tyler ✌️🖖
FYI for all, but Taylor especially since he loves etymology like me. According to Websters 1820 dictionary, liberty means freedom bridled my morals. This implies that if you want to preserve your freedom, then you must keep Gods the c hains that are a consequence of sin.
The Brethren has been repetitive in their messages. Doing the basics with diligence and consistency: praying and fasting, studying scriptures, following living prophets for they are God's mouthpiece, temple attendance, remembering and keeping our covenants, and enduring w/patience and joy. These keep us center our lives to God and His Son Jesus Christ.❤
Is it kind to sugar coat and delay peoples progress? To my mind ... NO! Honesty is the air i breathe! I need to progress and honesty its the only way i can move forward quickly. And if i give someone a compliment it is a true measure of their progress. Not just yack yack yack as some people just say things without meaning the.. does the truth sometimes hurt? Yep but wether im getting it from someone or its my self talk from realizing my errors, it is uncomfortable but i will be victorious in no time over that thing. 10:41
Anyone else bothered by the fact that Mosiah publicly suggests that his son's repentance might not be a permanent change? Obviously Alma the Younger considered Aaron's repentance sincere enough to entrust him with what would become one of the greatest missionary journeys in history.
Given the right circumstances, the son of Mosiah and even Alma the Younger, could've returned to their sinful ways, just the same with us! That's something I've noticed with myself, if I don't "root" myself in the Gospel and be consistent in the Gospel, I do return to previous and repented sins, and I again stray away.
Mosiah was a king. His decisions had huge consequences for thousands of people. He had to consider all eventualities even that his son's might turn back to their old ways. I think the fact that all of his son's declined the kingdom (despite the potential good that they could do as king like their father and grandfather) shows that they themselves were only too aware of what that power might do to them and where it could lead them, and they weren't willing to risk it
Part of repentance and change is avoiding situations where you are prone to sin in the first place. Plus, he is concerned for a whole people, not just his son. Also, when choosing a king you look at the record of the candidates to make the best decision.
Jazmin Rapley‘s discussion of the “skin of blackness“ is a wrested interpretation of the scripture. Surprised to hear you promoting it. I hope this poor theory is abandoned as it complicates issues of race, and the Book of Mormon Unnecessarily..
We’re sorry you feel this way. The video in question brings forward several “possible” explanations but doesn’t definitively address the issue. As an organization, we create faith-promoting content for many different types of people in the Church. We want to give valid reasons for belief and faith. This issue with the skin of blackness has been a huge source of doubt and disbelief, so by using good research methods, we identified some plausible ways to interpret the text that help shore up faith in this matter rather than perpetuate degrading views on race that are not endorsed or taught by the Church. You may still disagree with this approach, but we want to let you know where we are coming from, and hopefully you can still see value in the other content we are producing. Know that you’re loved! 😁
Thank you for the kind reply and spiritual sensitivity you teach your lessons; I’ve enjoyed them. I think Jamin’s discussion of this “new research” is frankly, embarrassing. It feels political and she comes off apologetic (not in an academic sense) to how the Book of Mormon discusses race; especially when she using terms like “ick” about the racial themes of the Book of Mormon . The Book of Mormon discusses race but not in the context of today’s culture and color conscious society. The message on salvation for all mankind is best stated in 2 Nephi 26:23. There are great discussions by other LDS social influencers that discuss “curse” as to the priesthood and gods covenant people and “mark” to distinguish non covenant peoples and the real issues of racism is Satans divisive role in propagating racism; especially today. The Lamanite (children of Lehi) peoples are definitely dark skinned. I’m married to a Lamanite woman and all my children are all darker skinned, and I’ll tell you they are not ashamed of their heritage and know they are equally loved by their father in heaven.

@puhiava It is the Book of Mormon that says that God cursed people with dark skin. That is one of many reasons why we know that the Book of Mormon is fiction.
