Just made this for dinner tonight and finished devouring it! It’s honestly the best tasting vegan recipe I’ve ever put in my mouth. My guest did not believe it was a vegan meal! That mushroom mince recipe is phenomenal!!!!!!!!! This is going to be my ‘recipe to impress’ whenever I have people denying vegan meals can be delicious! BRAVO! Thank you for sharing!
Two things: 1. We LOVE seeing Max!!! 2. I love seeing the process of how you try to create a recipe! I would love to see more raw video content like this!
Thank you Trent! I will send 1) along to Max :) And I'm so glad you enjoyed watching the recipe process and there will definitely more of this in the future!
I really enjoyed that you see some things don't work out as planned. I guess everyone makes this experience while cooking and it's nice to see that it's just normal...
Thank GOD I subscribed! I live in Guatemala with very limited store bought vegan food. BUT - you have motivated me to hunt down these ingredients. We made this yesterday and I am STILL feeling so happy about it, it was beyond amazing!!! You are doing the Earth such a service, and we thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really appreciate you showing that the first version of the vegan sour cream that didn't work. It's helpful to know what doesn't work when trying to come up with recipes on the spot!
This is the first time I've ever made a comment on a TH-cam video, but oh my goodness - this recipe is soooo delicious! I first made it almost a week ago and I've made it everyday since! I ran out of tortillas today so just added the taco "meat", nacho sauce, and some salsa to some rice and a salad and it was delish! Nisha - you have an amazing talent for coming up with fantastic recipes! Thanks so much for sharing them with the rest of us!!
Cracked me up when the first sour cream didn't work and you put your hair up. That's when it gets real. Haha. Thanks for showing us how you problem solve. Liked the laughs.
Another amazing video. Also for anyone who’s deciding on whether to get her cookbook, DO IT. It’s amazing. I’ve made at least 10 different recipes and they all turned out fantastic (something I can’t say with other cookbooks/recipe blogs). The Tofu Tikka Masala is probably my favourite, but the vegan queso is like liquid gold. I honestly never thought I’d make my dad and sisters like tofu or beans this much
Hi Adan! How sweet are you! I am so grateful for your support and so happy you and your family enjoy my cookbook so much. That's such lovely feedback to hear :)
Unfortunately, I have to disagree. Of the four recipes I've made so far, three wound up in the garbage. The cauliflower with millet, for example, had the texture of concrete.
You have the best videos ever. Though there are other channels I watch I tend to get annoyed at the presenters however you are the most enjoyable and real as possible.
You’re so resourceful and creative! I loved seeing your thought process when coming up with alternatives and working on flavours. My favourite vegan chef!
Definitely making this! Love how you were so honest in your video and kept in the part about the Tofu sour cream and your facial expression was priceless. Not all vegan recipes are a success. Nice to see your failures too! Note to self....I will not be trying that sour cream recipe anytime soon! LOL!
Hi Karen! You are so sweet :) The tofu sour cream was not salvageable lol. And you're right! Not every recipe is a success, there are definitely some failures along the way!
Gonna try to make this with my Family ..not vegans , but I have lots of food sesnestivity issues 😋 Thanks look So yummy..I'M DEFINITELY Fan for Clean eating healthy habits...thanks 😊
I just made this and it was insanely good!!! My vegan family hasn't had cheese this good in ages, and the entire meal came together so well.. thank you!!!!
hey there - my mother, of all people - taught me this trick for faux hamburger meat - and it's brilliant! : simply freeze a block of firm tofu until its rock hard, then thaw it. once tofu has been frozen solid and then thawed it literally takes on the texture of a sink sponge. squeeze the water out - like a sponge! - and simply tear it up into bits, add flavoring, like taco seasoning, and sneak it right on in for hamburger. as long as it has a seasoning, or is in a sauce, like a tomato meat sauce, you will not be able to tell the difference. cheers! libby
That sour cream final recipe is GOAT!!! Listen people, do not buy a store brand if you have access and funds to buy the ingredients to make from scratch. Makes Tofutti taste like white clay. It’s such a good base that you can add onion power and maybe nutritional yeast to it to make it a Queso or cream cheese once done using it as sour cream. I regularly return to this recipe even when not making the wrap!
I absolutely love your personality. The best part of your videos is your natural reaction tow the food. Its nice to see vegan recipes but we don't get to see people actually eat it. This is real! love it.
I adore how you processed the ingredients list with us as you went. Trying to get the meaty flavor is what I’m always looking to mimic. Just umami is something difficult for me. Love watching!!
So yummy! It seems like a lot of work at first, but it's really not too bad. And let me tell you, it was WELL WORTH IT. My husband is a die hard carnivore and very skeptical of all my vegan recipes. But he DEVOURED this and kept saying how good it was!! Thanks Nisha, you knocked it out of the park with this one. My husband was happy to hear I'll be making this one again. 😄
This is AWESOME! I made these tonight and we LOVED the cheese sauce! I traded out the cashews (cause Dolla Bills, Yall!) for a drained can of white beans and omitted the 2 TBS water and PERFECTION!
I love how you keep it real and post your "kitchen fails" because it happens to me a lot and it makes me feel better and like i shouldn't get discouraged, I don't like when youtubers are all perfect and unrealistic, sometimes I replicate a recipe and it tastes gross and I just think I must have done something wrong and get discouraged
11:47. I’ve tried other vegan sour creams and almost gagged on them. Tofutti is by far the best, the closest to regular sour cream. (I’m Jewish; I grew up on sour cream, so let’s say I’m a maven on the stuff.)
😍 I love how you showed the process of developing a recipe and stumbling along the way! Pretty rare to see that captured in a recipe video, but it was so great to see! Love your videos! Will have to pick up your cookbooks as well ❤️
DUDE how did I JUST find your channel?? You are an absolute joy to watch. And your food looks so yummy! :) New subscriber over here. Thank you for your humor, authenticity and fun recipes! I hope to try this soon!
Thanks for solely caring about what tastes good and leaving your ego out of it when it came to the sour cream. I recently started cooking vegan and your channel is my go-to for my days off when I want to try something fun and delish
This is the BEST vegan recipe I ever tasted. Was a huge hit with my family. Made this three times already. This is a recipe I feel confident that any of my guests will love.
I just subscribed to your channel. Both of you guys are very entertaining. I love watching little mishaps. The Crunchwrap looks delicious. I been wanting to became vegan for a long time. This recipe will definitely help.
You are amazingly creative and it’s always enlightening watching you prepare a meal....We try and emulate you with our creativity in the kitchen. Thanks for being an inspiration. Max...We want to see you more often 🙃
Love seeing the whole experimentation process including the failed attempts. (and that 'what was I going to do with the food processor' is literally me in the kitchen)
I really love that you showed the whole testing process! So many videos will just be the final product, but I loved seeing the creative juices flowing.
This was absolutely amazing!! My meat eating family loved it. For a gluten free version I used chickpea wraps which are smaller so it was an open faced crunch wrap. My 12 year old son was skeptical but, of course, raved about it. Thank you for your work on creating such delicious food that everyone can enjoy!!
Thank you for showing the part of the recipe that didn’t turn out how you wanted. Your honesty and willingness to experiment until you find the right combination is so refreshing! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This is my first time seeing your videos. You have a new subscriber with me!
Ok so one of the things I LOVED about this video is your transparency and mistakes!! Please don't stop sharing them! Sometimes when I've tried a recipe with the listed measurements I've needed to add water or other things and I leave thinking, "there is no way they used these measurements". SO I LOVED seeing you add in extra stuff as needed and even say, "yea no this is bad". Again you're just soo awesome! I think I'll be trying this on Tuesaday!
I only made the meat because I was too lazy to make everything else and my God my God phenomenal!!! Eating it with your cilantro crema, your corn salad, salsa and gauc and this by far is the best thing I've eaten. The taste of the meat and even the texture reminds me of ground beef. Amazing job!
I’m glad you were honest when you said certain mixes of things weren’t that great because sometimes I try stuff that tastes gross and needs some reworking.
Just watched a non-vegan TH-camr testing 4 versions of these. And this is EXACTLY what I need right now :D SO SO cool you can make it vegan! Also, you made it still incredibly whole-food plant-based, which is absolutely fantastic! In general, your videos are just my favourite! Great recipes and lovely sense of humor! . I hope you're having a great weekend! Sending you lots of love! . P.S. Thank you for keeping the process real!
Aww yay! I'm glad it came at the right time, Margaret :) Totally doable to make it vegan and it's SOOOO good. Hope you will enjoy the recipe and so very happy you love my videos :)
Excellent vid and recipe! Love how you aren't afraid to show your mistakes. I cook like that too. You can also use lightly fried cooked quinoa in place of undercooked lentils for that ground beef texture - Works a treat!
Thank you Nisha, for bringing this glorious thing into my life. My wife has mastered them (yes I thank her too). I am eating one right now. It makes the world seem a bit better every bite! And that’s no small feat. Thank you!
Made this for lunch today. AMAZING!! 😍Thank you! I love that you show the process of how you come up with a new recipe, instead of just showing the final results. It’s interesting to watch 👍
Made these tonight but was too tired after prepping everything that I ate them as a burrito instead of making them crunchwrap style. I have to say - you are a genius! These are delicious!
I really loved the raw-ness of you coming up w. this recipe. That’s how it is sometimes when we’re winging it, and it was interesting to see your process. Nice to know the experiment worked, and my hubby is also a Max, so I can’t wait to try this out on him!
My FAV fast food to veganize at home!!! I use lentils, minced mushrooms and onions, and a bit of TVP. Cook it all together in mushroom stock and taco seasoning and it’s soooo spot on
thanks for putting in all your reactions!!! I'm a new vegan and I make all those faces all the time, when I'm cooking, and I thought it was just me! You just made this journey much easier. love it, thank you!
Oh girl this was the best video! I've seen many vegan crunchwraps and none of them come close to yours! Looks so good! Also the constant yelling at Alexa happens daily in our house LOL
Vegan crunchwraps are definitely my once-a-year guilty pleasure so I love this and can’t wait to make it! You are my favorite youtuber to watch you’re so entertaining and personable. Not to mention your recipes are always incredible
OMG!!! Love your videos, I absolutely appreciate that you don't hide mishaps in the kitchen, it makes you so relatable. You are beautiful inside and out and I "Thank you" for showing "perfection" while cooking is not the norm. I always felt like a failure while cooking because of my messy mishaps, but watching someone as put together as yourself being Ok with the little mishaps makes me feel so much better about myself. Not to forget I do Love your recipes and I did purchase your "the Vegan Instant Pot" cookbook (its Fantastic)!!! Thank you for being you and sharing your great videos!!!
Aww thank you Theresa! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video, including the mishaps. I love cooking too, but it's not always perfect haha. I'm so happy you love my cookbook too!
This is so gosh dang good. I think it's my favorite recipe period. I have made some adjustments for my preferences. I make my own tortillas. I added a roasted tomato salsa. And I use Jill's Game Changer Nacho cheese sauce instead. Her sour cream recipe here is great, tho it does taste like ranch! It's a brilliant ranch recipe. Works really well in the crunch wrap. I think I can make this NO FASTER than 2 hours given my changes (the tortillas take a fair amount of time to make), but that's hustling and hyperfocused, multiple things going at once. A little slower and it takes 2.5 hrs. The first time I made it, it took me EIGHT HOURS. Lmao. But it's sooooo good.
You're amazing with your teaching/sharing and you make everything so fun and easy to understand. Your personality it on point! I'm fairly new to whole food plant based, and you have become one of my absolute favorites to learn from. And the commentary comments/suggestions, etc. from your boyfriend are so entertaining. Great job - thank you to you both!
Okay I just made the vegan meat mixture and the nacho cheese...I forgot about chilling the sour cream so I am going to wait and make a full one tomorrow....tonight I ate some of the meat mixture and the nacho cheese with chips and some fresh tomatoes and cilantro....omg...this is sooooooo goood!!! This satisfies any jun food cravings you might have as well as highlights the really fun, science aspect of veganism...it's super fun and while it seemed a bit overwhelming to begin...it was actually super easy to make. There are just a lot of steps...sooooo fun. Soooo good! Thank you Nisha!
Lie I can't believe how good the vegan meat mixture is...it's soo good. Better than meat!!! I used the Siete Taco seasoning brand... 1 tablespoon spicy and the rest mild.
Gotta try this! And thank you so much for including the “not so perfect” parts of making this! It really encourages me to continue learning how to cook vegan foods as I continue on my vegan journey!
Yum looks delicious i am making this soon will make this with few subs saw this recipe few mins ago on my computer drooling over my samsung galaxy note 8 love your recipes making me hungry Thanks Ramya
I swear to god I can't be happier since I found your channel!!! I know what I am making for lunch tomorrow! ❤️❤️ Thank you for so many good recipies, Love from India..
Looks delicious! I'll have to replace the walnuts with crumbling up medium-firm Tofu then baking it to use as my "meat" substitute, and probably make a batch of vegan sour cream using soy milk and lemon juice. I'm excited to make this plant based version, as I've never had a Taco Bell crunch wrap. Thanks for sharing!
I'm from Germany and we don't have Taco Bell here. But my husband keeps telling me about these cruchwrap and now I'm thinking about making this amazing looking vegan version as a surprise. Thanks for the recipe, it really looks delicious!
I made this today, and it was SPECTACULAR. The vegan nacho cheese-sauce is just BONKERS, it's so so so good!😭😍 I made this recipe with store-bought vegan taco meat, but I'm trying out your recipe next time. Thank you so much for this!!
Haha thank you Lisa! Love the bonkers description. I actually made these for a non-traditional Christmas dinner this year and my family had a similar reaction lol.
Tofuti is amazing. I never was a big fan of regular sour cream but loved tacobells... after discovering Tofuti on my vegan journey it made my tacos so much better.
I convinced Max to make an appearance in this video, but he had a price: make him this crunchwrap supreme at least twice a week 😂😋
LOVE this video. Thanks for not editing out the fun stuff! Way to nail the assignment.
Thank you Coleen! So happy you enjoyed the video :)
Awww you guys are so cute together. Having his non-vegan opinion really helped with the beef sub recipe
Uuugh he is sooo luckyyy 😍😍 i dont live so far, can i come get one 😄😄 im having your IP mexican rice and lentils recipe for dinner tonight 😍
😂
I always trust people more when they show their mistakes.
Ditto!! I absolutely agree!! You know it's for real and not fake for the camera!! Which I appreciate!!
This is how you're easily manipulated
I agree! Emmy Made In Japan shows her mistakes too. It's one of the best ways to learn.

Why is watching this way more satisfying than the cooking videos that are like super artsy and try super hard to be perfect!? Loved it.
I don't think I could like a video more! All the little sound effects, music, and bits of humor are awesome.

The cook book reffers only to people having an instant pot?
I agree 100% Also very user friendly if you're not familiar with the instant pot.
Unfortunately, I have to disagree. Of the four recipes I've made so far, three wound up in the garbage. The cauliflower with millet, for example, had the texture of concrete.

The way you present makes me want watch you all day …. Ok I have been 💀🫠. Love the dishes ! Going to try more.
Not only are you the best vegan cook on youtube but you are also adorable!
your personality is so infectious!! this looks delicious!
aww thank you so much! hope you get to try this recipe, it's sooo good!
My FAV fast food to veganize at home!!! I use lentils, minced mushrooms and onions, and a bit of TVP. Cook it all together in mushroom stock and taco seasoning and it’s soooo spot on
Made this and it turned out AMAZING! Best recipe EVER
thanks for putting in all your reactions!!! I'm a new vegan and I make all those faces all the time, when I'm cooking, and I thought it was just me! You just made this journey much easier. love it, thank you!
Wow I feel your production skills have increased 10x since this video but I love your crunchwrap recipe so I'll always return to this no matter what!
Holy smokes that looks amazing 😻
Oh girl this was the best video! I've seen many vegan crunchwraps and none of them come close to yours! Looks so good! Also the constant yelling at Alexa happens daily in our house LOL
I love and appreciate your authenticity
Vegan crunchwraps are definitely my once-a-year guilty pleasure so I love this and can’t wait to make it! You are my favorite youtuber to watch you’re so entertaining and personable. Not to mention your recipes are always incredible
Been watching lots of vegan cooking youtube channels and I must say your dishes look amazing and I love your sense of humor..
I tried your recipe for nacho cheese and loved it. I made my crunchwraps with beans instead of the meat and they were still bomb. Thank you
I'm so glad you made them and loved it, Miriam!
I use textured soy for ground beef substitute, and works pretty well!
I may do not next time since I could not get it to look or taste like beef however I like the idea of making it at home with all natural ingredients
This was the best video ever!!!!
Beyond raw and honest😁
Gotta try this! And thank you so much for including the “not so perfect” parts of making this! It really encourages me to continue learning how to cook vegan foods as I continue on my vegan journey!
Yum looks delicious i am making this soon will make this with few subs saw this recipe few mins ago on my computer drooling over my samsung galaxy note 8 love your recipes making me hungry Thanks Ramya
Thank you Ramya! I hope you will enjoy it! Have a good weekend :)
You are so, so funny and inspirational. Thank you for your unabashed spontaneity and creativity.
This is one of your best videos... purr entertainment with delicious recipe and so raw footage😅😅😅🙆♀️
Haha aww thank you Priyanka! So happy you think so!
I’ve watched 1 video& have subscribed, love watching the improvisation, this is reality!
I'm from Germany and we don't have Taco Bell here. But my husband keeps telling me about these cruchwrap and now I'm thinking about making this amazing looking vegan version as a surprise. Thanks for the recipe, it really looks delicious!
These are the BEST videos! Watching you try (and occasionally fail) different experiments to come up with these recipes is hilarious!
I like to use quinoa for ground beef. I season it just like taco meat and mix in some black beans. SO GOOD! I love this video.
