I really enjoyed the calm and mellow voice. I think you should have showed much more shots of the game itself. While mentioning the box, why not show it? While discussing the forest and setting, why aren't we getting a nice shot of the board? A bit more discussion of the actual mechanics would help as well. Keep it up though!
Great review! My wife grabbed this game on a whim. We are huge fans of Ryan Laukat and when we saw he did the art, it was an instant buy. Never been disappointed by his games, even though he didn't create it we knew he supported it (Red Raven logo) Great simple fun! It reminds me a little of the Star Wars Empire vs Rebellion game which I also enjoy a lot.
this was actually quite helpful since I was also expecting a complete different game. I liked the thoughtful presentation and think your yes/no system regarding certain player types (artwork oriented; big strategy game player, casual gamer etc.) is well worth expandable. I suggest showing more of the game components, though, maybe in a set-up situation of a game turn.
Not bad, but I still am left with no sense of gameplay. You would be better served to do an actual play through of the game, so people can get an idea of what is going on. Your opinion does not sell me on this game. Actual run through of turns sells me. Take heed of Jon gets games. He gave up reviews, sticks with coherent gameplay (unlike radho). I have games in my cart now but still not pushing the button on Haven because I can't see how it actually works. The way to get views is to jump on games no one else has reviewed or played, and this was your chance in a crowded field. Take advantage of early access and show more of the game being played and, no offence, less extreme closeups of your face. Your voice is enough over some turn play throughs.
I've seen the video twice by now and I have to say I like it! However I'm with the guys on more-game-and-less-you style. Games being played actually get more view than speech only. If you could find a balance of those, I'm sure you will get more subscribers.
