    I am sitting in my loft and needed help to find the laundry room. Their was an elder woman mopping the walkway, she took the time to assist me and showed me the way. I wanted to tip the woman without being a gringo Brutha, BUT never as you describe Rich😂... I wasn't QUITE sure how much because I am a generous tipper to service industry folks such as me and i appreciate her, for taking the time out of her schedule For helping me. Not only do you have my cousin's name, but I thoroughly enjoy how you explained everything bill to coin and pronunciation. I did my homework before I departed, but obviously I live in the moment, and you definitely give me that same impression, in preparation! By the time I finished watching your video, she was done and I missed her. Hello Rich, I find this video very informative, great knowledge about the Colombian peso and the exchange rate to the dollar. I'm Colombian living in the US, the last time I was in Colombia was over 12 years ago. If I go back to Colombia any time soon I most definitely use your method of use/exchange the Colombian peso.
    I hope you are still in Colombia having a great traveling experience there. Chao!!!!!

    My advice is do not exchange Dollars for Pesos at the airport...Go to a Casa de Cambio located in varias areas. Go online to see exchange rate...You will need your Passport and they will require a Fingerprint. One last thing small locals stores rarely have change and the Yellow taxi will claim not to have change...

    • @richexperiences1
      @richexperiences1  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well guess that's another way to do it haven't tried it. But I just always go straight to the ATM and draw from my bank. And I just remember to decline the ATM exchange rate because usually most US-based banks will provide a better exchange rate from my experience. Just pretty straightforward and less hassle for me. Plus my bank reimburses all of my ATM fees and furthermore, they do not charge me any foreign transaction fees.
      And as far as those taxis, yeah they always trying to run game -- which is why I started strictly using rideshare apps and those problems just went away.

    Where would you suggest to exchange money in Cartagena?

    • @richexperiences1
      @richexperiences1  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well I always get my money directly out of the ATM. That usually gives the best exchange rates.
      Tip: At the ATMs, a message usually pops up to accept or decline conversion. I'd recommend always clicking NO because usually your bank will always give you a better exchange rate from my experience (assuming you have a US-based bank account).

    • @richexperiences1

      You can find good food just about anywhere. Every City in Colombia that I've visited always has good lunch specials, just ask for the Menú del Día (Special of the Day). And I always check reviews in Google Maps and choose restaurants with no less than 4 stars, read some of the recent reviews though still because sometimes overall ratings can still be misleading or even fake.
      And yeah, they hate it when you slam car doors hard (those darn Gringos!). People from the States, many of us have a habit of doing that. I had to learn to go easy on the doors too, lol. With a little practice and a few eyeballs rolled at you, you'll get the hang of it - Quick!
