Props to you guys Finally some Depeche Mode! (if you do another one from them - should be the live version in Paris, France called "never let me down again" - that will show you the bands love by people. Next icons should be NEW ORDER "Crystal" the SMITHS :"big mouth strikes again", and the CULT - "love removal machine" - You would be one of the first of all reviewers to do those bands! Keep up the good work!!!!!!

It's about how Elvis Presley was her man and her mentor and how often that happens in love relationships; how everybody's heart is like a god in some way, and that's not a very balanced view of someone, is it?”"
Johnny Cash COVERED this song. It wasn't really meant as a Christian Song but about having someone there to take care of you when you need them! Lots of Great songs with Depeche Mode. it's NOT A CHRISTIAN SONG
You guys are way too literal - you can't take everything at face value, there is deeper meaning. Most of DM's songs are about complexities of life and relationships... it's a bit of a slam on religion, if you think about it... why pray to an invisible God in the sky when you can get consolation and forgiveness right here on Earth from your partner?
You probably shouldn't even listen to music if you don't understand metaphors.
