I've heard both these TV's are excellent. The C2 is the go to TV for a lot of people. The G2 has taken things to another level and also they added a heatsink to drive panels harder for more brightness something most OLED owners have been wanting for awhile.

Yeah but it's measurements are very similiar to the g1 I mean its full eidl is only in the 150s. Tbh I feel the c2 is so similiar I feel it may be the smart choice for most. I think both will be great tvs but idk let's see how it does.

@@reviewforthetube6485 yeah we'll see how they pan out and which of the two TV's people are mostly likely going for. It seems like the C series has always been the most popular choice because it basically has everything and is a little cheaper than the G series. But time will tell my friend.

Just means it'd true the qd oled panels seem to cost Lee's to manufacture which helps us in the long run. Also means later I'm time they will be very very affordable. To look at how much Samsungs led tvs are then to see them put a price out like this on oled is insane. Nobody would of guessed it to be that low lol.

I pick C2 over G2. Picture quality is almost the same - if you put one next to the other you can barely see any difference, G2 is a little brighter and thats all (in my country I bought 77 C2 for 14k, G2 77 costs 22k). So in normal usage you can't tell it at all. Its not like between C1 and G2, these TVs are to be honest like twins. Yesterday I saw A90J next to A95K and same situation (95 is better but not worth paying that much more better). For average/normal user like me and perhaps you its better to save some money. @@Drewjames3 yeah, I've had it for about 2 in a half weeks or so. The jump I did from a 50 inch to a 65 on top of it being my first oled makes it feel like a big upgrade. Having hdmi 2.1 for my games is awesome (playing hogwarts legacy in 120fps) I'm using the TV speakers when not using my headphones and there's a lot more bass and oomph than my old vizio. And of course the picture, it looks great. Some of the 4k movies I've watched have looked not just great but incredible. One minor nitpick I have is when there's a scene that lingers in darkness for a period of time, the TV for some reason doesn't recognize that it's a moving image and thinks it's a static one so the screen will dim. You can still see but it can be pretty difficult at times. Once a brighter scene comes back on the screen goes back to normal. I heard buying a cheap service remote to turn a setting off fixes it, but I'm not going to do that right now.

Nice to see that the G2 is on par with the A90J in terms of peak luminance. The A90J however, did have aggressive ABL and ASBL (auto static brightness limiter) which really dulls the TV when gaming with HUD or watching news/sports etc. LG never had this issue, so in theory it should retain more brightness on a full window in comparison. One thing the A90J/A80J did that was better than the G1/C1 was SDR content thanks to the XR processor, so I'm curious to see how the a9 Gen5 processor matches up to that. Definitely looking forward to see a side-by-side comparison of the G2 vs A90J and also the A95K QD-OLED.

Only in sdr gaming as classy stated lol. I still haven't witnessed it myself on the a90j. Also measurements are one thing but we are seeing in content the c2 and g2 are extremely similiar in actual brightness. Which we see from villaman the c2 wasn't close to his a90j still because lg likes to maintain apl while sony likes to choose brightness at times. I still believe the impact with the quad sub pixel boostinf on highlights from sony will be very hard to beat. This is why brightness measurements don't mean to much when it comes to resl content as algorithm and the way they read the scenes matter. But hey you never know lol.

@@helloguy8934 idgaf about numbers lol. Go look at villimans comparison. Numbers don't tell you algorithms in actual content. They don't tell you how it chooses brightness in some scenes while other tvs choose apl. To many variables numbers do not mean much anymore. It cannot tell you how a tv reads or displays each scene in a a movie no test pattern or numbers can. This is what people that are novice don't seem to understand. Numbers are cool but I've seen a 600 nit tv look brighter then a 1k nit tv due to how it tracks a scene or what algorithm is put in place. Sony will have the higher brightness due to its algorithm especially with its brightness placement on highlights. It's very noticeable. While lg will choose to keep a lower apl and less impact. That's just how there algorithm is and Tone mapping works.

I totally respect the nerd-stuff, and those whom loves digging DEEP into calibrations and such, as seen in this review (and thank you for it!) However, for someone like me, the fact that all of these measurements and crazy tests needs to be done, to get people to actually NOTICE the smaller differences, that’s just absurd to me :-) I’m thinking about the obscene amount of difference in price, between something like the C2 and G2. I’ve seen many other experts, in other video’s, go like this; “There! DID YOU SEE THE DIFFERENCE!? Go back, go back… THERE! Pause the shit outta that! Right_THERE! See the 10% better highlights in THAT image!?”… And THAT sort of stuff is supposed to convince people to pay for a tv that’s 1100 bucks more expensive?.. Really? That’s what I mean with absurdity :-) The differences in the end are so small that the huuuge price-jump, from one model to the next, just blows my fucking mind. Like, I truly can’t fathom why even the experts would ever truly feel like it’s worth it, for something so little of a difference.. Oh well :-)

I even had the b2 65 inch and that picture was amazing too. Can't go wrong with any OLED unless you're in a really bright room then things might change.

Looks like LG has addressed the ootb color accuracy which now makes LG a viable alternative to Sony. The other thing that we need to confirm is LG’s sharpness especially compared to Sony’s reality creation. If LG comes within 80-90% of image processing, then they will finally be ahead of Sony.

@@samtech889 All TV manufacturers have strengths and weakenesses. It's a well-known fact that Sony has superior image processing. That's why they don't manufacture panels.
In the day and age of compressed sources and possible 8k requiring 4x-16x upscaling, processing is one of the most important factors when buying a TV.
Sony commanded a huge advantage in out-of-the-box (ootb) color accuracy which gave them a huge advantage over LG and other manufacturers since a TV that displays Blue instead of Green will always look better than a TV that displays a luscious Green for a sky. I'm exaggerating but color is very important.
LG has made strides in the right direction with color accuracy and that's very important as it's a deal breaker if you're not professionally calibrating that TV.
In gaming, LG is better than Sony but you can still game on the Sony although the ASBL is a big issue and needs to be addressed immediately. I'm actually very upset that Sony added support for the almost meaningless VRR before fixing the all important ASBL issue.
Clearly, these 2 new models from LG are positioned to compete against the A80J and A90J in terms of slightly superior brightness for the G2 at the expense of slightly more shadow detail for the C2.
Anyway, this is all good stuff. We just have to wait and see how QD OLEDs fare.

Imagine watching "Gravity" or something and half the time you see yourself floating around in the picture, lol..
Yet another reason why OLED lovers always do dark room. Because you don't have to have a direct light on the TV it's ANY light in the room at all and you run the risk of seeing the room and things in it reflected on the screen.
      It's so distracting.
Want to know why they are so reflective and glossy? Because they have such low color volume at higher brightness and glossy screens up the color look.

Lol, I don’t know why people keep saying there isn’t a big improvement this year, it is. TH-cam videos don’t EVER do any screen viewing justice (between cameras dimming things down because it’s too bright vs another tv, or colors looking washed out through a camera or downscaling on capture devices and TH-cam lowering the quality for instance…). The processor alone is a BIG improvement over last year’s model (and I have a G1). There’s so much more, but these changes have already been mentioned.
It’s just like last year’s A90J vs A80J debate. Everyone kept saying it’s not a big difference, but mostly everyone who saw both IN PERSON says it’s a big difference.
Again, TH-cam videos give an idea, but you absolutely must compare and see these tvs in person.
I’m telling y’all, the C2 and G2 are BIG improvements from last year (and again I have a G1). This is not to say that the C1 and G1 aren’t excellent tvs, they are simply stunning and amazing, but there is a big jump this year.

Week of April 18th for Sony's 55" and 65" A95K QD OLED TVs. Don't worry about burn-in as since 2018 LG Display and LG Electronics have integrated several very effective technologies to help prevent burn-in and this year we have even more protections in the OLED modules and the processing control to avoid burn-in.

Yes LG has two stands for the G2 Gallery Series. I have pictures of the stands on our G2 webpage. LG will release pricing and specs this week. Sanus also makes a very nice table top pedestal stand that works beautifully with the 55" and 65" G2.

With the greatest of respect, Robert mis-spoke when he said "the sub-pixels are larger; there's less - there's NO space in between them any longer, they're filling the full space". That's not correct, it's physically not possible to have no space at all between sub-pixels. "Less space" is perfectly fine, "no space" isn't :)

    • @valueelectronics9390
      @valueelectronics9390 2 ปีที่แล้ว

The sub-pixels are larger on LG Display's new 2022 OLED module. Regarding space between the sub-pixels, I am just repeating what I am told by the engineers, and if their is any space between the sub-pixels it wild be very minimal.

I didn't notice room reflections with my old 55"; but, it is noticeable with the 77" with windows, lamps, overhead lights, or doors.
