As a C1 owner for almost a year now, the extra blue can be solved by turning the colors warmth down to warm 50 instead of the default. That will get the colors to a more realistic color tone on the LG. I understand this is an uncalibrated review, however, I think anyone looking to purchase a TV in 2022 needs to understand that some calibration, however miniscule, will be required for certain content. Being a gamer, this calibration is definitely needed regardless of tv purchased. I have calibrated my older Samsung 6 series even. I used it since 2017, about 4 years, before I got the C1 last year. All tvs will have different settings based on content being viewed as well and need to be adjusted accordingly for the optimal viewing experience. Whether that be SD, HD (with or without HDR), or Dolby Vision. Most of which can be done at home following a Google search or TH-cam video. No need to fork over that extra money for someone else to do this work for you.

@@Jackboy497 it's all in personal preference. Obviously, I am a little bias being a C1 owner. It is the best TV I have ever owned, hands down. If you are a gamer and the TV will not be in a very bright space any OLED will be great. The viewing angle for OLEDs are amazing too and I didn't even realize how much better they are until visiting a friend's house and watching how the picture changed on his non-OLED based on my positioning around the TV.

I got the Samsung and LG OLED. Ended up returning the Samsung due to insane issues bending , laggy os, extremely saturated or extremely washed out colors, raised blacks due to ambient light. It felt like an unfinished product. LG has been phenomenal the colors are amazing and the picture is beautiful but it does require some calibration! I prefer the picture of the LG over the S95B, besides the brightness is more than enough for my room.

I don’t understand your reasoning, because you talk about saving around $200. But a tv you buy once in 5 years, some even 8 years. Those $200 is nothing if you look at the total timeframe. Same for products a a bed where you sleep. It’s not that you buy shoes or something. It’s a thing you use EVERYDAY, the next 3 to 8 years. Get the best!

I just bought the S95B after seeing them both in the flesh, at the same price. Obviously I couldn’t calibrate it in the shop, but there was something about the LG that I didn’t like. It appears almost cartoony compared to the rich depth of the Samsung. Some people may prefer this look, because some people do prefer Pepsi to Coke.

I think there's a very important takeaway from this video. That being, that if you're in the market for a television, then the QDOLED is the one to buy, but if you already own an OLED, there is no reason to replace it with the QDOLED. While there is an obvious difference in brightness between the two, a person would be hard-pressed to notice any difference unless the TVs are sitting side by side.

You should not compare 2 TV models without picture calibration. In your test, the image on LG has a green tint, but on a different copy, from a different batch or from a different factory, the image may be factory calibrated completely differently and the green color will not be there.

According to LG the OLED Evo is designed for better energy consumption but nowhere does it say that it will never get LED burn-in in the future while the QD-OLEDs do mention it to you.

In some cases you can see a huge difference between one to each other due to the HDR standard that are displaying, not for the TV processing, the display technology, calibration and gamma.
One perfect example is the Stranger Things scene 5:57. This scene, on the left, is being displayed in HDR 10 in the Samsung S95B and on the right side for the LG C2 in Dolby Vision. There are two different versions, with one dedicated grading for each of them. In this case, they look far different.

This is about the 3rd or 4th video I’ve watched of yours so far (for reasons I’ll explain) and I not only wanted to thank you for putting such comprehensive and detailed information together but thought I’d throw in a few observations about the colours, brightness and highlights which may be helpful - apologies if others have already covered this (not read the comments yet). Found these videos as I’m currently considering buying the Samsung S95 QD (in Black Friday offers it’s now as low as £1,099). Have yet to watch your settings video, so don’t know what controls are available, but as an experienced photographer who colour calibrates their monitor I’d be interested how you can optimise the picture.
May be your camera settings or impact of TH-cam, but interesting that you described the LG as being ‘more blue’ - whereas to my eyes the LG has a distinct green tint as well as a different, warmer colour balance setting. This tint combined with the warmer CB makes the greens look too strong, leaves neutral colours with a cast, though the Samsung looked as though it could do with lowering the white balance to warm up some scenes where you would expect the sun’s impact to give you colours that were sometimes a bit lacking.
However side by side, the Samsung definitely looks the better out of the box provided some of the overcooked highlight issues can be set correctly.
Our eyes tend to crave as much contrast as we can get, but depending on the dynamic range available, this can be at the expensive of blown highlights and crushed blacks. I doubt the menu options will be as detailed as most photographers are used to, but very interested to see how you calibrate and tweak the settings on the Samsung. Great videos 👍

The washed out look is terrible. I own both sets, I much prefer the colors and shadow detail of the LG. The S95B while bright is so washed out in so many scenes and shadows have no depth. The thing is in almost all scenes there is no black crush, LG likes that extra contrasts look and pop. I’d much rather have a image without a washed out look. Though I love both my Samsung and LG if I had to choose one I’d go for the LG.

One of the main reasons why I wouldn't get one (you can either have good skin tones, or good whites... but not both. The S95B fixes that). The C2 still isn't an option for me... my old plasma performs better than that.

I really want to get the C2 OLED but 9:44 is exactly the reason I am skeptical. Due to the extra brightness on the Samsung, it has better color volume. For example, if you look at the robot passing by, you can see that it has an orange head on the Samsung but it almost looks black on the C2. Additionally, on the very right of the scene. you can see there is some kind of orange triangle symbol on the Samsung but you can not see that at all on the C2. I really do not want to miss out on details like this when I am playing games, as some details maybe easter eggs and I would completely miss them if I cannot see them. Another thing may just be that your camera did not pick up those details because you are recording the screens directly. So I wonder maybe those details are just distorted on the camera and if you can see them when directly looking at the screen with your eyes on the C2 OLED.
