This is pretty much the perfect live-aboard cat for a couple. The kitchen needs some upgrades like larger sinks and a larger cooker. I would also use the port, forward cabin as an office/work cabin and replace the bed with a nice table and office appliances. The trampoline is also of good size .. like it a lot.

LOL You're both so casual and easy going, it just makes it a real pleasure to join you on your tours. Thanks again, and keep 'em coming!!

Thank you for bringing this FP sailboat into our living room . Beautiful catamaran made in France with a lot of space and storage options . It is not without reason that France is world leader in the construction of sailing boats , catamarans and mono hulls . Nice to see the "DJ" in front of the camera . Victoria, you could almost convince people to buy a “broken” sailboat or catamaran with your “innocence”. You and Rico are amazing people to show off this luxury.
It looks like 40' length is about the minimum for an awesome cat layout that is very comfortable for cruising longer term, and still has wide open cockpit and salon with great window visibility, separate raised helm.
Need to have your hubby do a preview, walk-through of you for us. Rare you find a girl that precisely "fits" what she does...but you do. Love the exploration of the nautical way.
surprisingly spacious and lots of light on a 40 foot boat, great camera work again and, both of you have such a relaxed, friendly style of presentation, I would definitely buy a boat from you, if I had any money
I'm warming to cats, never used to like them. This one really needs teak decks though, like, _really_ needs them. You could probably stuff a watermaker in that generator space up front, too.

I also prefer the galley at the back of the salon so it can be more functionally adjoined to the transom cockpit. Can especially be functional if there is a well designed snack bar style serving slide-window to the cockpit and possibly even a dumb-waiter up to the bridge level (good design has it fully weather rated). It's not just social, it can also dramatically reduce traffic required to go through the salon. It always seemed to me the energy between a cafe galley and the working or recreational energy of the cockpit can be well matched and social, leaving the salon zone CAPABLE of being separate energy (or easily included)- the point is it can reduce the traffic going through the salon with possibly wet and sandy feets. And as I mentioned, I also like the idea of a utility dumbwaiter to deliver from the galley to the upper deck, so people don't have to deliver foods up a ladder
That’s a really interesting idea 🤔 💡 , I’m gonna look around and see it if it has been done with the dumbwaiter... Would be so fantastic. It really could just be a nice hatch with a tray

Thanks for another great tour! Although I’m personally into motor boats, there is something that makes the layout of a cat very practical. Perhaps more motor cats should be designed. Thanks, enjoy your day!
Very well laid out and implemented. Not fancy (that lace table cover - ? ! ) yet far from basic. Lots of "places to get away" on the boat - lots of levels. As a live-aborad it would be great for a couple - new or retired. MY only "issue" is the sailing part. I was a maritime engineer and sails threaten my relevance ( LOL). So the motor version would be my choice (electric actually since I've recently moved to a solar powered land yacht - sadly, still has diesel motive power). I want to go back to boats - I miss the water. Thanks so much for your videos. As you ARE live-aboards, that puts you above most other reviewers. Later...
This cat isn’t for anybody bigger than Victoria. If everyone in the family is her size , you can make this work, if not move on , not my fav cat however I’m a big fan of this company’s 67 cat. Victoria looked absolutely 😍😊 what a “lucky” guy 💯
It is 2020 and people living on their boats is a well established thing! Couples circumnavigating is a thing. How do manufacturers continue to waste so much space on charter cabins that will be used for anything but? Dedicate that space to additional fuel capacity, battery capacity, food storage, fresh water capacity, DR electric propulsion, an office space, a laundry room, a shop... There are so many things people wish they could add to a boat this size and space is always wasted on cabins for those guests that come 2 weeks out of the year.... The video made my point for me when you look at the BIGGER of the 2 guest cabins. This is the cabin you might actually use for guests on occasion and what is it used for? Storing the isinglass...Anything other than wasted cabins!
agreed, but if you order a boat from the factory you can set it up anyway you want🙌🏻 you can definitely make the third cabin as a utility/storage cabin

Lovely presentation Vicky but so much space up front that could be better used to make the inside bigger/another cabin for kids, and as you rightly say for a generator/water maker etc etc.
Vicky?! oh boy! 🤦♀️😂 I don’t think you can expand another cabin into that area, it would not be safe construction. But great space for generator, water maker and extra extra storage🙌🏻🙌🏻

Wow thats a really nice boat. So you can run all the rigging from the cockpit? If I had one I'd definatly add solar and a genny for AC cause I'd live on it all year if I could. 😄. A desalinization plant would be cool to. But you can't have everything.
@@NautiStyles If I could sail. afford it and not live in the middle of Canada....lol. Well Id sell my 20' Crestliner and my condo get this and spend my days sailing up and down the American and Canadian coast with a cold drink, a fishing rod and enjoying the view, 🙂
As much as we love Victoria, there has to be more Rico in the videos .. in the end of the day, the two of you as a lovely couple make your channel so nice to watch. But does Rico always wear blue?
If it was my choice I would be taking a look at the Antares 44’ a slightly used one I think could be a good buy. At least you don’t have to add anything they come with every thing you need for world travel. And if you buy makes you able to attend Antares U learn everything about your new purchase get to play with someone else’s bout while you learn.
FP definitely should make an electric/solar version of it. Take the mast and rig away, put a big solar panel array on that huge roof, add a couple of 100kW e-motors + Li-Ion batteries and it will be fully autonomous fast, silent and maintenance-free swimming house. This is a next generation of sailing and at some point this conversion can be even done by everyone. Did you ask FP about this approach?
It seems like a good idea, but in reality a proper power catamaran should not be made based on the same hull as a sailing catamaran. since it’s completely different ratio, speed, and weight... The easiest way I can explain, sailing catamaran is not made to be cruising at 17 knots, the hull is not designed for that. however FP does make a power version 🙌🏻 which I’m pretty sure if money is no object can be converted, you can see this Tour here th-cam.com/video/Pk4TGRHYu_8/w-d-xo.html
NautiStyles Well, I don‘t think the cat sail/power hulls are so different, like monohulls. Prop must be changed, of course. The problem of electric conversion with powercats - they usually have a Flybridge on top, which leaves no area for solar panels. Another story - they are damn expensive...And used FP Lucia with broken rig can be bought relatively easy after hurricanes.
well, a proper Power cat is not built on the same hull as sail 🤷🏼♀️ that’s a fact. power cats have a flybridge with a hard top which is perfect for solar panels 👌🏻
NautiStyles Any way I don‘t think you will cruise at 17 kn at power cat - unless you are a very rich person. Most power cats will cruise at same 7-10kn as sailing ones and at these speeds there is not much difference between sail and power hull. So 17 kn or even more is more like a maximum speed, which electric sailing cat can achieve as well, but off course for relatively short time - as battery lasts. But knowing that at sunny day you can do up to 60-80 miles for free, have your all domestic furniture and A/C powered and still have power for 20knots is a good feeling
Nice ;-) cat. When it comes to sailboats you should try to have a look on a Sirius 40 DS or even a 35 DS. Your vids getting better and better. And the red dress is very nice, too. But I missed a hat :))
That's the plan! 👌🏻 We will be going to Cannes boat show this year again, and I believe I have seen Sirus boats there. And don’t worry the hat will be back! 😝😝
Noob question. Why do they never have driving stations on the inside of these? you would think people still want to navigate from inside in the rain or bad weather ? what would a steering wheel and thrust controls take away ? Id love to have one of these but its only reason that keeps me away.
Loved the tour Victoria, thanks. I’ve always fancied sailing a cat but not yet got round to it! The cockpit looked great, very spacious and I agree with you about aft galleys- so much more sociable. Not quite as nice as a Sunreef though!
Since this is a sailing yacht, I am wondering how good would be these 30 HP engines in case of bad weather and how it would handle the waves.. For that money, yacht with bigger engines and that space would be way pricier... Thank you for the review, saw first time of this kind! 21:15 Lol, your reaction was like MEH!, I'll rather stay here..
the 30HP is actually the bigger package offered by FP (there is a 20HP option). 60HP total should be fine for this one, but it’s definitely not going to outrun the storm through 🙈 thanks for watching 💙
Thanks for that guys, I think it's just about the smallest boat I've seen you do, try a row boat next time? If I had one I'd definatly add solar and a genny for AC cause I'd live on it all year if I could. 😄. A desalinization plant would be cool to. But you can't have everything.
Oh I love the piolot seat. What a great place for it!
Yes you can! those would be all the upgrades I would put in as well
👌🏻👌🏻
@@NautiStyles If I could sail. afford it and not live in the middle of Canada....lol. Well Id sell my 20' Crestliner and my condo get this and spend my days sailing up and down the American and Canadian coast with a cold drink, a fishing rod and enjoying the view, 🙂
Lagoon or FP? Any thoughts on these two brands?
As much as we love Victoria, there has to be more Rico in the videos .. in the end of the day, the two of you as a lovely couple make your channel so nice to watch. But does Rico always wear blue?
Great video. Keep up the good work
Thanks, will do! thanks for tuning in for the premiere and see ya in the CHAT next Sat!
@@NautiStyles I will definitely try te be on next week. Btw Congratz to you and Rico for reaching 20k subs 😍🥳👏👏🍻🥂
thank you so much, so excited, almost doubled the subs in the last month 🙈🙈😃
That's a lot of Cat for just 40'. FP sure knows how to build 'em right.
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the video
If it was my choice I would be taking a look at the Antares 44’ a slightly used one I think could be a good buy. At least you don’t have to add anything they come with every thing you need for world travel. And if you buy makes you able to attend Antares U learn everything about your new purchase get to play with someone else’s bout while you learn.
Interesting, thanks for the tip I’m gonna put it on my list to check it out
FP definitely should make an electric/solar version of it.
@@NautiStyles Great, can't wait to see all the vids from the beautiful yachts there, presented by you two.
Have fun in Cannes :-)
Why do I get the feeling that this boat was the least m❤ost exciting boat you guys have ever commentated on
Good Job 👍 Nice 💯👍
Well it looks great....oh...the boat?....let me look again
😂 let me know what you think 😝🙈
@@NautiStyles Well I am not a sailing type guy....but the boat was nice.🤣🤣🤣
❤️❤️❤️ as usual a nice video
excellent video
Thank you very much!
All cats have a space forward of the shower for an optional washer dryer.
Noob question. Why do they never have driving stations on the inside of these? you would think people still want to navigate from inside in the rain or bad weather ? what would a steering wheel and thrust controls take away ? Id love to have one of these but its only reason that keeps me away.
the 44 is the way to go I think.
Loved the tour Victoria, thanks. I’ve always fancied sailing a cat but not yet got round to it! The cockpit looked great, very spacious and I agree with you about aft galleys- so much more sociable. Not quite as nice as a Sunreef though!
💯 Perfect observation
Since this is a sailing yacht, I am wondering how good would be these 30 HP engines in case of bad weather and how it would handle the waves.. For that money, yacht with bigger engines and that space would be way pricier... Thank you for the review, saw first time of this kind!
21:15 Lol, your reaction was like MEH!, I'll rather stay here..
the 30HP is actually the bigger package offered by FP (there is a 20HP option). 60HP total should be fine for this one, but it’s definitely not going to outrun the storm through 🙈 thanks for watching 💙
This is THE best walk through of Lucia! You guys rock! A question - does that coffee table in living area convert into bed?
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for that guys, I think it's just about the smallest boat I've seen you do, try a row boat next time? You're just a fabulous couple, it great watching you work together, you got quite a chemistry. I'd never be able to afford or even hire one of these things, so I watch you go round these vessels and dream.
😂😂 it’s the same size as our boat 40’🙈 but I will make sure to do a tour of a dinghy for you next time😜😜😂 jk, thanks for watching and joining the premiere LIVE CHAT 🙏🏻👌🏻
I can't believe it's the same size as yours! #gobsmacked! Yours looks so much bigger! But thank you and Rico again for this channel. It allows me a look into another world, especially the multi multi million $€£ boats. Through you I can press my nose up against the widows of a world that I could never achieve. You look so good on camera. You look born to be on these boats. You fit in perfectly, and Rico is just an all round nice guy. Thanks again, I still going through your other vids, so you'll hear from me again! X
oooooow it’s our pleasure and we are grateful to gain awesome followers such as yourself 🙏🏻🙏🏻💙💙💙
Hiya, nice boat, nicer video... Good to see you both & on a new to channel boat. I would prefer the 'E' cat but like you said a great starter boat. They got a lot of storage in a 40' more than I would have thought they could, even if nothing behind the mirrors, will they be OK sticking back the one Rico pulled off? Thank you both...
Take care & stay safe... Steve...
😂😂🙈 thanks for watching, too bad you couldn’t join us in a life chat this week
@@NautiStyles Thank you, I've not been too well, not covis thank God but not fun, but such is life... You both look good & it's nice to see the cap taking a more active role & not just being eye candy for your female followers! Your not my channel? I caught that but thought you mis-spoke or you want a new hat you've seen on line!!! Talking of hats, no hat??? It's just coming up on 8 in the evening here on the west coast of England, what on earth is the time there on your west coast?
Steve... x
feel better dear! hats will be back, I promise 😜👌🏻
@@NautiStyles Thank you dear lady, out of hospital now, only went in because paramedics really thought I needed to have a better heart monitor on...
Long live the hats!!!
Take care & stay safe... Steve x
How fast do boats like this depreciate? Can I wait 10 years and buy it at half price?
cats actually keep their value pretty well
I want to thank Rico for the awesome camera angles on this video.... OMG...... 😍
🙈😂😂😝
I've never lived on a boat, but wouldn't all those sharp corners on every panel be a concern?
Great question, I actually did not think this both had that many sharp edges in the areas that are important, and I’m kind of the queen of “Finding a sharp corner to get a bruise”🙈🤦♀️
I just found this channel-and I love the tours!! Reading the comments though is kinda cringy. Jeez there are some creepy dudes online. Not saying she isn’t beautiful or anything - but my god people online can be gross.
🙈 welcome aboard! happy to gain a normal, non-creepy Sub😝🙌🏻 🙏🏻
A question, how many times did you say awesome in your previous vlogs?
A lot 😜😂😂😂
That coffee table covering has to go!! 1975 will be calling to pick it up.
🙈👍🏻 thanks for watching
40 feet?! Amazing use of space.
right?! glad you thought so! 🙌🏻
Her 2 feet are pretty awesome as well.
I saw the chain locker but where does the anchor drop?
I'd guess the "Generator"space was on the Port side with it's engine. We didn't see that,so...?
The generator typically would go in the space in the front that Rico pointed out underneath the cushions, and I have rarely seen it in the back of a cat
Very nice!
