Having sailed on a friend’s Neel 47, I can confirm how roomy and fun this boat is. We chartered a Neel 45 in the Caribbean and it set the stage for his purchase. The 45 was very hard to tack, but the 47 seems to have solved that issue. The tri is so much better than a cat if you enjoy a spirited sail. It really is the best of a single hull and cat…roomy yet fast. Glad you had a chance to review the boat, now sail it already.
You are 100% bang on when you say, makes a great couple boat, which 85%+ of sailors are. Everything on the NEEL 47 seems purposely designed and built for couples, and the outriggers bring so much safety to the game. As Sinead would say, I always make sure the carpet matches the drapes incase I go into a highspeed spin, well done, well done in deed!

Thanks for the video. Really interesting look at this fascinating boat. The master cabin on deck super close to the chart table and helm, the very easily accessible technical rooms, better finish and quality than on early samples, standard bow thruster for easy control in marinas, amazing amount of storage, possibility to really single hand from a position that is protected from elements and offers a good view on at least 3 corners, large areas for solar panels, great performance on all points of sail,... this boat really has a lot going for it. It's also great to be able to charter it for trial before committing to a purchase. I am not in the market for such a boat, but if I were I would personally never select on plans or based on a visit in a boat show or even day sail. It takes a week on board to really understand how a boat feels in various conditions, how practical it is, what the issues are,... If I am not mistaken it's also possible to fit 2 additional "skipper" berths in the front part of the hulls? Another aspect you could have spoken about a bit more is the hardware, rigging,...?
The amount of storage space in this Trimaran is really re-enforcing the concept of the incredible amount of space that you could get, for more cabins and extra space for multiple different things, as the dimensions increase for bigger trimarans.
Aluminium hull boats are awesome, my family has a 50 ft monohull from a dutch brand called KM, they specialize in aluminium. It's a great boat, very fast We sail with my family and my dad's friend's family (9 people in total) but there's room for more people
Wow! I have always loved catamarans since sailing the Grenadines on a 51' Fontaine Pajot 20 years ago. This changes my mind to trimaran. So many clever ideas in this roomy boat. Looks like tons of fun. I bet is is fast too.

Neel does an excellent job on all their trimarans of providing space in the engine room and auxiliary machinery space for ease of maintenance. I do hope you can do a similar review on a Rapido trimaran.
@@BigBadLoneWolf If it''s the same video I'm thinking of, I believe that example wasn't representative of what a buyer will receive when ordering from Neel now. I heard that boat was rushed and manufacturing used to be outsourced in the past, which is no longer the case with current orders.
This seriously changes my mind on trimarans! I’ve always loved the catamarans, but this is seriously cool. Superb size if you are on your own with occasional guests so much storage that’s for sure. Love it! Thanks to you both for the enlightening tour- great work!
This was a really interesting yacht. It was also a great opportunity and expose your vast experience knowledge and unique perspective in the yachting industry. Once again another great tour and as always greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.
That is the first Trimaran I've seen that I would consider living on. Convert one of the side cabins into an office, save the other for guests. LOTS of deck room, and I adore all that space below decks. Wow! Some cats are almost impossible to get at the engines, you'd need trained monkeys to do a valve job. That hatch looks big enough you could actually just lift the entire engine out! As a tri, it's probably blue water capable, too.
If you like the Neel 47, you'll positively be enamored by the 51. Larger engine room and it's accessible from the saloon inside the main living area. Also, the side cabins have interior access as well plus they're wider. It's in a whole other price range but a used Neel 51 might be a good option to consider.
A Trimaran!!! I love it. I just saw the tumbnail so far, but I love it! Because, for those that don't know, apparently they are far more stable in the water then double hulls, because there is an extra hull in the water, as a foundation of sorts, to stop it capsizing during a storm. Also, the central hull can be built to take the main weight of the vessel, with the side hulls just being supports, and thus not as major a structural challenge as opposed to building two main hulls, with serious structural engineering keeping these two main, far appart sections together. I don't know this for sure. I'm just basing it on "Nick the Naval architects" Trimaran youtube video. But it makes sence.
you'd think they're more stable than a dual hull cat, but I hear they're not. there's too much body roll because the center hull acts like a pivot, instead of a support. to each his own. its a rather "cheap looking" buildout.
Just started watching a few months ago and already can tell you both are a hard working couple. Love the way your personality bounce off and complement each other.
Also, because you have so much space on the one deck, it makes it far more practical a design for elderly guests, and guests with other movement difficulties, like wheelchairs, and toddler's. How hard is it for parents of young children on a boat, because of the dangers of the stairs in dry land, let alone open seas?
Having owned 3 tris and 2 cats, I can say that the performance range of cruising tris and cruising cats overlaps, I.e. this tri would not outperform all 47’ cruising cats under sail. Under power I would take the redundancy and handling of twin diesels over a diesel and a bow thruster. Having said that I like this boat and have been aboard several… though not sailed one. My biggest concern would be resale value as the cruising tri market is tiny.

I was sold when you showed the master bedroom , helm and galley. Before seeing this boat I would have dreamed of an Outremer 50'-60'. The sailing around the world YT channels could even turn the master into a film studio. If you didn't mind sleeping in a double in one of the hulls that master could be turned into a huge workshop. They even put seating in the engine room for when you work on the motor. If you were a traveling surgeon you could turn the master into an operating room. The only negative I could see is a bit more rocking side to side than on a catamaran.

I never was much for a sailing vessel, however, growing up in Central Florida as a teenager in the 70s we had a sunfish to use on the lake and the neighbors had a 16-ft Hobie cat that we used to sail on. But our 18 ft ski boat got the most use since we were near Cypress Gardens. I would seriously consider one time going out on a charter sail yacht but it would have to be in the range of 80 ft and above. Excellent presentation as always.
Going back more years than I like to remember, my best friends dad guilt q fiberglass in his garden, his mum was a teacher the year I went to middle school 1978/9 they set off around the world, it was built with double cabins in the two outer hulls, I guess it's all down to designer. Love your videos. Thank you David 🇬🇧
If you are sailing a trimaran, you have some advantages over catamaran, due to it's narrow hull width, less wetted area when under sail due to one hull being out of the water for the most part. The main mono-hull is more efficient through the water than a wide cat hull, with 4ft draft and due to it's length helps the sail boat point higher into the wind. ( A very important issue when you want to sail and avoid fuel costs.) The only rough spots were the unfinished in-hull storage and the lack of engine room sound proofing. Video of a Trimaran sailing VS a Catamaran sailing is a night VS day comparison.
Awesome new episode! Love the Neel's! Looking at them for possible solution for our sailing needs. thanks for this episode seen 51 but have not seen a 47 yet..
That's a great walkthrough! Thank you. Now I only wish you'd also covered 51 and 65 as they don't have such thorough and entertaining reviews as you do! Great job, love your reviews more then anyone's else.
Did you tour the Neel 43 next to it, or the 51? We are not sure which to get, we are a couple who would have occassional guests only, and start either in the Caribean or Med before sailing rtw.
I think this is the best boat tour video I have seen! You both do a great job. Neel needs to put this on their website. Your video gives a much more informative look at this vessel, and a better job selling it, than does their website. Again, great job and thanks!
Excellent video! I had hoped that the Neel website would have a better video of the layout but unfortunately it doesn’t. Thank you for doing this video, you’ve shed a lot of light on just how well the trimaran is laid out. Looking forward to seeing it for myself!
There’s the video. Yayyyyy, I don’t have to watch ditch water freeze for entertainment. The Forensic Investigator in me noticed your injury, Victoria. Looks about 1.5cm x 0.67cm. Sweet boat. There are a lot of catamaran’s up here and even a few trimarans. Great video guys. Cheers from you know where🥶. 👍😎🇨🇦🏹
Okay…I know that I am late seeing this review…but, I am very impressed with this trimaran. It is extremely well thought/layed out. Being able to sail her by myself is VERY appealing. I could be very happy with a sailboat like this. I’m going to look up the Neel 47 online and see what they are going for today. And also see if they have one just a little bit bigger for living space and the guest guest cabins…😏😎
The last review I saw of a Neel trimaran the tails of the zip ties in working spaces hadn't even been cut off, and on a brand new boat there were bits falling off along with huge amounts of filler where panels didn't fit right. Neel have an absolutely shocking reputation for poor quality both in the structure and finish. I respect that you don't talk negatively about the boats you tour but it would be really interesting to know if they've upped their game in the age of TH-cam. Great tour though. You really do need to think of Trimarans as a monohull with outriggers rather than a cat with an extra hull.
I don’t agree with that, we have toured many boats and I have captained a bunch of Catamaran brands over the years, this specific one here is a charter version which still felt more solid than some other popular catamaran manufacturers. I think this could be a nice yacht in the upgraded owners package. Considering a major catamaran builder doesn’t even bilgecoat their bilges I think this one is pretty good. Thanks for watching.
@@mikefowler301 I've been around for a hell of a lot longer than you tube, but yeah - fair point. I guess I was meaning since you tubers have been doing reviews and the power that social media can have over a brand.
Totally HG, I've seen videos of brand new boats only 2019/2020 where the cockpit doors didn't close and panelling falling off. Quality of Neel is a major major issue still on the sailors network.
@hg I can't speak for what it was like 3 years ago or another channel's opinions, but in this case, we didn't find the quality of this build (construction or interior... which are two very different things btw) to be any worse then other major cat builders, on the contrary actually it was well done.
Currently have a Windrider 17 & Horstman 43 used to have a Corsair 31 really interested in the Neel 43 thanks for the dive into the 47 looks wonderful. Cheers from California. Duncan
Ten thumbs up! As always! Thank you guys for at least teasing me with my dreams. Well done. My fav channel on TH-cam. And I watch a lot of different channels lol!
Been looking at the 65’ since first seeing one in St Tropez anchored a few hundred yards out from the backyard beach. Everything they do is done to perfection. If you’re not the type to “think of everything”, it will take a minute or two to recognize and understand what you’re really looking at, why it’s there and how freakin’ sweet it is that it’s just there, not something you need to design or negotiate or customize or whatever. Just wish there were more of them out there to be acquired.
Nice ride. I would add more batts and more solar. Also i did not see auto track for the sails. Anything over three foot waves the captain would need to be on the helm. I would like to see some more safety rigging. The boom being a davit is an awesome idea. Other then that. nice boat. Love you Nauti and you too Rickco
What did you two think of the build quality of the Neel? Several years ago there were several video's showing terrible built quality of these tri's . I hope they have picked up their game and are now really good sailing boats.

Great question @ Stephen Murray, as Rico mentioned we didn't find the quality of this build to be worse then most of the major Cat builder we have toured and sailed many ourselves on charters and deliveries, on the contrary actually. We can't speak for 3 years ago or another channels opinions... too many people claiming to be experts nowadays, we do not 🤦🏼♀️🤷♀️
Finally a nice video from a couple with experience and nice comments. Just signed for a Neel 47 in December 2021. Your video for sure helped so Neel should thank you:-) Looking forward to sailing our new Neel 47. If you are ever around feel free to join us for a test sail:-)
If you have the opportunity, it would be interesting to see you take one of these on a day-sail and give your opinions. For me, I think the Neel 51 hits the sweet spot. The 47 is a little awkward with regard to access to the guest accommodations in the amas, and the 65 is a no-go for me because of the ridiculous fly bridge, which basically makes it a dock queen. Given their performance and great layout, I'm surprised there aren't more Neel trimarans out there. Maybe they've got a backlog of orders or something. Anyway, thanks for the walk-through!!
Totally agree. Neel 51 would be for me if I was ever in the market for a cruising trimaran. Regarding the 65, I wonder if Neel could remove that huge fly bridge entirely upon the buyer's request, in order to lower the sail plan and COG? Would be very interesting to see a performance-oriented 65, although that would probably run contrary to Neel's intended target market for that specific model and may not do it. An interesting thought experiment nevertheless.

Hi Victoria &Rico, that is definitely a final thrilling sailing with a three -catamaran.⚓⛵🌊👍😘
Thank you so much for watching Kay-uwe
Trimaran surprise. And a pleasant surprise at that. Always keeping your channel unique - this is another example. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I can really see how some people could enjoy there time on this type of yacht! 🇺🇸👍
Great to see a trimaran tour! That’s quite a special layout. Thanks as always Victoria and Rico 💙
Our pleasure! Thanks for the comment Harko
Hi Victoria And Rico, You Are Still my Favorite Yacht TH-camrs by Far, You Guys Are Totally Awesome! 🔥🌹💋❤️😎🇿🇦
Wow, thank you! YachtTubers we are LOL
YESSSS! @Nautistyles Thank you for listening to my suggestion on the trimaran! 🥰🥰🥰
you are very welcome, we are always listening to you guys
Thanks for comparing Trimarans to Catamarans!! Love the toilet under the stairs!! Looks like a fun boat! Love from Vermont
Our pleasure!
It is always a pleasure to hear from you. So many features in this boat. I would like to know what is the best trimaran to compare the Neel 47 with.
Awesome new episode! Love the Neel's! Looking at them for possible solution for our sailing needs. thanks for this episode seen 51 but have not seen a 47 yet..
Our pleasure!
My first tour of a trimaran. Good!
yeay!
Nice Neel. Hope your knee gets well soon. x
That's a great walkthrough! Thank you.
Now I only wish you'd also covered 51 and 65 as they don't have such thorough and entertaining reviews as you do! Great job, love your reviews more then anyone's else.
Yana, thank you so much!
I have no more asking in this kind of the trimaran. Its a very very nice boat i seing.
Just ordered the 65 évolution.Welcome on board in Florida whenever you want !
wow, congrats!
Excellent video! I had hoped that the Neel website would have a better video of the layout but unfortunately it doesn’t. Thank you for doing this video, you’ve shed a lot of light on just how well the trimaran is laid out. Looking forward to seeing it for myself!
So glad to hear that it was helpful! Thanks Brad
That thing looks amazing!
glad you liked it
Great job, nice ship.... the perfect cruising boat, fast and gorgeous!
Many thanks!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a tour of the Neel 65
There’s the video. Yayyyyy, I don’t have to watch ditch water freeze for entertainment. The Forensic Investigator in me noticed your injury, Victoria. Looks about 1.5cm x 0.67cm. Sweet boat. There are a lot of catamaran’s up here and even a few trimarans. Great video guys. Cheers from you know where🥶. 👍😎🇨🇦🏹
yes, concrete dock and I had a disagreement... he won! 🤦🏼♀️😂
@@NautiStyles concrete bad. Bad concrete😠
You should present the neel 65 it is an awesome trimaran too.
Age of you tube? where ya been for the last 15 years.
One of the rarest of the rare video where Rico talks more than Victoria......LOL
Hahahahaha
haha!
Great video. Very interesting boat. If it were power instead of sail I might consider it.
Fair enough!
Very informative! Thanks so much for sharing!
You are so welcome!
Wow, thank you sooo much!
Now I need to win the lotto and then check the boxes of what I want on board. Easy peasy.
Loved the outtakes. Rico: "Just the soap dish."
LOL
What a cool trimaran. I wonder how many more solar panels and batteries could be added. A potential electric drive for unlimited cruising?
Really love this for Single hand or couple crusing... 🤗🤗🤗
Just wish there were more of them out there to be acquired.
glad you liked the tour
We have toured many boats and I have captained a bunch of Catamaran brands over the years, this specific one here is a charter version which still felt more solid than some other popular catamaran manufacturers.
I think this could be a nice yacht in the upgraded owners package.
Considering a major catamaran builder doesn’t even bilgecoat their bilges I think this one is pretty good and could be fantastic for a couple.
Thanks for watching.
If you are ever around feel free to join us for a test sail:-)
what is the price of neel 47 - in your version
I always like trimarans.. All the tris I watched, gave a very good impression.. This is an awesome one..
Wow, it's a perfect boat with a perfect description to both of you. Kudos to the NuatiStyles.💯👍👍
Love the center hull dedicated to engin and vitals equipment you could air condition that and make it man cave for guns and tools shelfs
I don’t know why I wasn’t subscribed, but I am now. Love your energy and some of the best boat reviews on the internet. Thanks
Welcome aboard Officially! Don't for get to click the notification bell 🔔 to never miss a new video
Thanks, I would like to see the polars speed. Compared to the 50 Rapido, LOL.
But it is a beautiful caravan.
Great outtakes! Especially the one about a cabin for a child hahah
😝😝🤣🤣🤣
A fantasy beyond money
The candy striped dress for the win!
Just 🔥!
I really enjoy your channel. A lot of other channels have yet to keep me interested. So keep making great videos guys!!
Wow right off the bat this looks amazing
