Denpa Dolt i thought i had to draw something that i had actually seen one of the imps wearing in order to convince them i was one of them...so i just drew two straight horizontal lines...what a wasted opportunity in hindsight now that i know i could’ve drawn anything
I just love how lively and happy this theme is. It made restoring the city so satisfying. Sei-an City is one of my favorite places to simply roam, and all the side quests there were fun to complete.
I put the Triforce in the Ammy's mask, and when i walked on the city, y was really surprised 'cause i saw the triforce everywhere! I was like "oh Easter eggs!!!" And then... i remembered the mask that i made at the Moon Cave :v
Yerman A. Gonzalez Velasco i drew the triforce too, and i was surprised of seeing the sacred triangle everywhere, i thought that okami was connected to Zelda in some way, than i remembered the same... What a coincidence!
I just love how rich and diverse this track is! Not only does it give the vibe of a bustling city community but also the vibrant characters that dwell within it. You can practically hear the characters come to life in the instruments.
Man, this song makes me feel so much better after listening to the cursed version of Sei-an City. This song has so much character in it. 2:49 onward is my favorite part. It sounds so much more fleshed out.
Ahh, 5 months since I avidly played okami. Taking a break from it now, the music is excellent to study to. I gotta say, this city caused me much greif, and happiness overall. I mean.. I was tortured doing the old mans sidequest, finally having to look up a walkthrough from my stubbornness of I would think 3 straight days trying to find that LAST damn tree in the city. **Softly** and it was on his head, **Change of tone** THE WHOLE DAMN TIME?!! GAH!! And the kanji... oh dear God, drawing the kanji with the little girl was so damn difficult.. I saw it 10 times running here and back, but I didn't figure out the second line for the symbol, you don't do from the top.. rather from the bottom line. **Grumbles** Still however, the music is one of my overall favorite in the game. You have to love that second half. And messing around with people being a holy "Ferry"? Come on.. you gotta love that. Oh hah, the apprentice carpenter's exchanges with the senior as well... Ahh, good times.
There was some girl who wanted ferrying to the Weapons Dealer and the shop was only about a minute walk behind her. WTF?! Surely it would be quicker walking there than going by lily pad.
They should have put a band into Okami/Okamiden and they should have played and danced to this song! And did anyone else notice that the commoners in Sei-an city are more happy than those in the Aristocaric quarters of the city!?
@ElementCats The first time I saw that I was like, " Are those WANTED posters on the walls of this city?" I though I was being either idolized or feared.
I had so much fun with the kimono thingy until she requested the heaven kanji. I gave up after a few tries; then I redrew the silly face I drew originally on the mask and left to North Ryoshima Coast.
This is one of my favorite songs. I found myself really enjoying this music as I was just getting things accomplished in the city. :) This made it all the more enjoyable.
Yes. I had a dream once where they were doing some sort of weird can can-like dance to this song. I was disappointed when i replayed the game some years later and they werent dancing to this lol
@ElementCats I put the word F*CK on my mask, and i nearly pissed myself laughing at the little girl writing it all over town. LOL. I kinda had to stay out of the city when my mom was in the room. :3
It's so sad man, this game is absolutely the best I have ever played, the best of my entire life, BUT most of the music didn't stick to my head at all... either because it was one of the pieces you just hear once or very rarely throughout the game or, I don't know, maybe it's because that japanese music I don't receive as "catchy" as.. well, "european" Music.. I guess you know what I mean. HOWEVER, this theme... well, spending what felt like 20 hours of gaming only in this city made me love it so much. :D And when I heard the variated version of it in Okamiden I was SO happy... These 2 games dude, the absolute best, I hope there will be another sequel one day... PLEASE
+I_am_not_a_sandwich - I don't think will be a sequel because the Kamiya's group (Clover Studio) moved from Capcom to Sega, that's why Bayonetta is so close to DMC.
Okami and Okamiden are awesome games... Except they both have a MAJOR FLAW!!! THEY END!!!!! But honestly.... Okami has the best replay value of any game I've ever played! I LOVE OKAMI!!!! ^_^
I just love it when the flute goes into two parts at 2:25! And I can't tell if the string part with the low section is a string bass, cello, or some other instrument. Can someone clarify on that part, because I'm trying to arrange this song.
It sounds like it's mostly cello, but there could be a tad bit of string bass in it as well... I used to play string bass and I'm guessing that the higher range of string bass can reach into part of a cello's range too but generally it sounds very deep like a tuba, and the bass here sounds a little higher to me. I think either a string bass or cello could play that range but most likely its a cello (kinda sounds like it).. they use more cello in orchestras anyway.. but that's just my guess ^^
@darlun0 Well, there WAS that nice guy in the Aristocratic Quater who liked doggies, and the little girl... But you're right, everybody else there was mean and stuck-up. X.x
This place was way too complex, making the tree sidequest really annoying. First, you've gotta find all the non-cursed trees, then the cursed ones, which if you fail, you have to do all over again, and finally you have to blossom the the big tree, which you also have to do over if you fail and often times it fails in recognizing a perfectly fine circle.
The theme of running around for hours looking for that last non cursed cherry blossom
I found it.
It was on his head.
*HIS FUCKING HEAD ARE YOU SERIOUS-*
🤣🤣🤣
Mine was the Okamiden version. I played Okamiden first.
@@frosted_glaceon5513 same here! just beat okami recently.
So glad I wasn't the only one lmao. I searched high and low and even in the other sects. The amazing music was what kept me going.
I wrote kick me.
People were walking around with it on their backs...
Lmao i know I'm late
I hope you did your duty.
I made a dick and balls. I would be very disappointed if others didn't do the same.

Samurai Dandy is the true hero of this game. He is walking propaganda for your paintings.
Games like this are really rare.
Has horror, action, romance, philosophical statements, and all within real life historical mythos and legends.
And Melons!
I wrote 'Waka's hot' on my mask...imagine my reaction when I saw it all over the walls...
imagine waka's reaction :3
i did the same thing omg
Personally I just wrote 'Imp' on the mask as a reference to the Gundam Cardboard box.
I got...plans...for my next playthrough...
In the Moon Cave I decided to write "Not An Imp" on the piece of paper. So when I got here...
You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!

I drew the most basic smiley face because i hoped I could change it. I couldn’t so in my second play through I just wrote ‘don’t kill please’
I draw a heart. The capital was so kawaii !
Denpa Dolt i thought i had to draw something that i had actually seen one of the imps wearing in order to convince them i was one of them...so i just drew two straight horizontal lines...what a wasted opportunity in hindsight now that i know i could’ve drawn anything
I drew OwO. No regrets.
I painted an Hammer and Sickle in the moon cave. Yeah, Soviet Sei-an was a thing for a while
You're a genius
ah shit now i have to (re)play communist okami
I wrote "YOLO" for the mask and there were yolo's aLL OVER THE CITY WALLS OH MY GOD I WAS SCREAMING
I made a TUT face
I drew dicks. Someone had to.
Could be worse. I had drawn a penis on the paper. My girlfriend who was sitting next to me was shaking her head. xD
I just love how lively and happy this theme is. It made restoring the city so satisfying. Sei-an City is one of my favorite places to simply roam, and all the side quests there were fun to complete.
I agree, my favorite city
Same. I would literally SIT IN THE CITY FOR HOURS JUST LISTENING TO THIS
@@MR_UseRNam_e me too
this is one of the best themes in the game honestly it feels like the whole city coming back to life and joining in a big dance
I can vividly remember most of the major areas in the city when I listen to this. It's been at least 5 or 6 years since I last touched the game.
I make a tree blossom.
Tries to light a torch.
Burns the tree.
Tries to blossom the tree.
Fire goes out.
Ugh.

It always reminded me of Inindo's attempt at making different cities feel... well, different, while still being active and not stagnant.
I like your analogy
3:09 is such a warm sounding chord, it's amazing
This song makes me feel as if I am walking through the streets of sei-an city! This composer is amazing!!!!!!
Man, this song makes me feel so much better after listening to the cursed version of Sei-an City. This song has so much character in it.

That took me ages as well. But I got it!!
Opal Even if the kanji was hard I'll never forget the last hidden Tosenbo! Had to film it to tap exactly all points!
i can’t believe this song doesn’t have more likes....the second part is especially an absolute slap
There was some girl who wanted ferrying to the Weapons Dealer and the shop was only about a minute walk behind her. WTF?!

I was all like, "I drew this! Why is it here?! IS the game trolling me?"
Damn, I forgot how good this theme was. Maybe I've just spent too much time in the cursed city.
Perfect theme. It's cunning, majestic and sad. Just perfect.
I'm obsessed with this song! Why can't I find any extended versions? 😭😭😭
i find myself humming to this theme every time i visit the city. gotta admit, one of the catchiest themes in okami.
They should have put a band into Okami/Okamiden and they should have played and danced to this song! And did anyone else notice that the commoners in Sei-an city are more happy than those in the Aristocaric quarters of the city!?
So many happy memories...*sigh* :)
Restoring this city from the cursed dying landscape it was was fantastic. The color, the people, the shops all came back to life
i love this theme, okami music is amazing! no joke
If Japan was the first to come up with "Hakuna Matata", I think the tune would be like this.
this really evokes an image of greatness, but also humility and hard work. Incredibly fitting.
my jam
I wrote "狐" in moon cave. I screamed when I saw it written all over Sei-an. The irony of the later boss made me scream again.
Was I the only one who barked in time with the beat while playing this game?
I didn't bark but I did jump and run to the music. Did that for an hour once it was so much fun.
@ElementCats The first time I saw that I was like, " Are those WANTED posters on the walls of this city?" I though I was being either idolized or feared.
this is a brilliant background tune. wish it played on a loop around my city. would be brill.
I've always loved this theme!! I can't understand why it's so hard for me to find it on youtube!

Smiley faces everywhere...
I flat out LOVE this song! XD
Does anyone else think of those fat guards when they hear this song?
YES. x3
i think of the commoners quarters duh
I always think of the little boy that's marching around in the city. Somehow his marching animation fits well to the beat of this music.
I remember sakura petals lol

When I first got to Sei-an, and saw 😂 on all of the walls...
@DDRdipod88 wawku shrine's theme is catchy too...i find myself humming it at the randomest of times...
I drew a kitty face :3 I kind of laughed when I saw it everywhere lol
Issun: (Looks at little girl's drawing) Hey Ammy, does this look familar to you?
Me and Ammy: No duh! I drew that at the Moon Cave stuiped!
probably the best song in all of okami ^_^

Sounds so good with headphones!
This is imho one of the very best melodies of Ōkami!
If I change my city's name to "Sei-an City (Commoner's Quarters)" will I be able to hear this song everyday?
Reminds me of Final Fantasy VII:s Wall Market. The music has the same kinda feeling, though this sounds a little "deeper".
I love this piece. Combination of kickass, badass, funky inside but outside as inscrutable as an orange. Doesn't make sense but, yeah, this rocks.
This is my favorite song in Okami.
the real ones come to this song.
oh thank you very much ^_^
My favourite song from the game.
@PredictableEnigma i used to be a wolf, but then i stuck a piece of paper to my face
If this is the commoner's quarters, I want to be poor.

Difficult song to play! I can play Reset (Thank you). I have it memorized, since I played it so much. It's my favorite song on this soundtrack. ^_^
*Renaming the city i live in to Sei-an and hoping for awesome music* ;) LOVE THIS SONG! :)

(To those who don't know: It's a role-playing game on Roblox)

I drew russia's "^J^" face on the mask. When I see it in the city, I laughed.
Sounds more upbeat than the acid trip that is the Aristocratic Quarter's theme.
@zanychimp tama's theme is epic....just wish he had a bigger part in the game.
@keeltoll3456 it sure does...i never noticed that...
This one kind of reminds me of that Disney movie the Aristocats :)
The Okita karaoke in Ryu Ga Gotoku Ishin (Yakuza spinoff) sounds like this
why does this make me think of treasure town in pokemon mystery dungeon
Thank you i think its called Ko-Tsuzumi taiko ^_^
I remember how confused I was, when I saw the mask from the MoonCave I drew, on one of the walls... @___@
It sounds like it's mostly cello, but there could be a tad bit of string bass in it as well... I wrote “Not A Wolf” on my mask. Really funny.
amen to that!
@keeltoll3456 ohlol. I guess I never payed attention to how he walks.
It such a jazzy tune but it manages to keep it's Asian sound to it.
I think Sei-an city was my faveourite location also i drew a slice of cake on my mask :P
Really...did they HAD to make the COMMONER'S quarters THIS epic?
@1995Andreas1995 That's because it's originally broken down into 2 parts. The person combined the two and it's a bit out of synch that's all.
@pikaparty nothins wrong wit that...i go to the city for that too.
Has the same beat as the bon-odori dance
I ran all over this stupid city drawing masks and blooming cherry trees and ferrying passengers around canals -- and I STILL like to hear this song.
makes me think of skipping in circles...XD
@DarkShadow166 I second that.
