Quick background: Ted coaching at Wichita State - Jason Sudekis is from Kansas and Wichita State, while they are competitive in Division 1 in basketball and baseball, they do not have a football program at all which made them a good choice as a fictitious team for Ted to coach. They are known as the Shockers - more specifically, the Wheat Shockers, with their mascot being an animated shock of wheat.
This was a show I put off for a while bc I was very ?? Eh about what the concept was. Was pleasantly surprised when I did decide to give it a shot. Hope you have fun !
"You need to set some boundaries, Ted." One thing you'll soon realize is that this show is not like any other show you've ever seen. As Keely tells Rebecca several episodes down the line, "You need to let Ted be Ted." When we watched this totally incredible show the first time, we all had in our heads how other series worked and thought the same would happen here. I can tell you from experience that using such logic doesn't necessarily work with this one. Almost all of the things we thought would happen don't. Almost all. Be with what is happening and lose your heart to all these people.
I put off watching this as I’m a football fan. Eventually I started watching and it and loved it. This is very very good. Teds secret weapon is himself. He is a great coach. Motivation and confidence, his speeches are legendary. Coach Beard is far more knowledgeable about the game. Plus he’ll find another ‘coach’ soon.
Glad to see you reacting to this. I think you will enjoy and appreciate what a well-crafted story it is. And speaking of well-crafted stories, The Legend of Vox Machina, season 3, is out Oct 3 and there is a trailer out that may remind you why TLoVM is so entertaining. Cheers!
Here are a few key elements to watch for: Abundant callbacks-there are plenty. "Same but different" moments. Subversion of dramedy clichés to surprise and engage you. Creative use of camera angles as storytelling devices. These are just starters; there's much more to discover.
Only watched this because you are doing it.. (yes that sounded weird). First ep was V ordinary. I'll give it 1 more..... but only because you.. no I won't say it again :-)
Not a writer myself, but I have gotten stared at for laughing at incredibly unfunny moments because I was imagining what the writers (or actors) were thinking when creating it; I get where you’re coming from. :) In case someone hasn’t already said it “kitty cat scares by a cucumber” is a reference to a video of….well, just what it says. No idea what platform it first appeared on, but there are several on TH-cam.
Thanks, Anna and I have Subscribed. I'm intrigued by your accent. Are you American or British, please? If American, Richmond is a lovely Outer South West London Suburb and, no spoilers and this is filmed in Richmond and the Home Ground is that of The Red and Blue of Crystal Palace, a South East London Club,12 miles from my home. Hence their first game "Against Crystal Palace"..ENJOY..
Haha I'm American, but I tend to pronounce words or phrases as I first heard them. You should hear say Pigeon Detectives. I also get mistaken for being from the south a lot, but my accent is Seattle.
@@AnnaAlexanderAuthor Thanks for your reply, Anna. I had a wonderful 7 week holiday in The USA/Canada in 1979 which started at Anaheim for Disneyland and went through Lake Tahoe, San Francisco, and Los Angeles then up through Portland, Oregon to Seattle and onto Vancouver Island, and then, by Greyhound Bus, we went along Canada to Toronto, Montreal down through Niagara and The New England States to Chicago and New York. Best holiday ever.
@@Graelcase My cat used to react that way to the vacuum cleaner hose, if she saw it lying on the floor. I'm fairly certain she'd never encountered a snake, but it was as if she instinctively knew the shape was potentially dangerous.
One of the greatest, if not the greatest show ever made
This quickly became one of my favorite shows - quite unexpectedly. I'm glad to go along for the ride with you!!
So very happy you are reacting to this incredible show. So many of us fans love to rewatch with first time viewers. Love your laugh!

Happy the TH-cam algorithms brought me to you today. Looking forward to your Ted Lasso journey. Subbed.
AppleTV is so underrated. I really love the Fraggle Rock reboot and all the new Peanuts shows and specials they've been doing.

Subscribed for perhaps the best show I’ve ever seen, hardly made a ripple here in the UK sadly
My only advice….pay close attention
12:28 TH-cam it
You have great questions. I now have more questions.
I really hope the rumours of a 4th season are true.
I do but because of busy schedules and other commitments, it is extremely unlikely.
Thanks, Anna and I have Subscribed.

OH ANNA, ITS WONDERFUL that you're FINALLY REACTING TO TEC!
I’m drinking A&W root beer 😊
wait until you hear the story about why nuns created thimbles
Look up videos of cats and cucumbers
Yeah, they really jump. Like they'd seen a snake. And knew what a snake was.
