cgi was good because of good use of light and shadow, plus TEXTURING. modern cgi artists don't get it. they forgot artistry and rely solely on processing power
This is movie with an alien chameleon monkey, a 10-foot man-spider, and a time machine made of scraps by a 12 year old. I think we're WELL past scientific accuracy.
I grew up with re-runs of the series, so of course I had to go see it as an adult. I didn't have high expectations, and was just pleased that they made it. The series was laughably bad in places, so the movie was pretty much right on the money.
I like this movie because here and now is where it began to feel like the original characters of Lost in Space, it's like this movie really was a reboot bringing them fully into they're roles by the end, not often you get that with a movie like this 😎💖💖
This would have been a Hit if Heather Graham and Mimi Rogers wore a Bikinis throughout the Movie because Their Characters became allergic to the Spacesuits.
"That's insane!" He got that right, as it wouldn't work. Sure, you'd pick up speed as you you approached the center, but gravity doesn't just shut down after that, and you'd lose that speed as you climbed back out on the other side. You'd end up with no net gain in speed.
If you think about it, the film could take place in an alternate universe where our laws of physics don't exactly apply despite the vast amount of surface-level similarities.
So they've got the robot from the alternate future on board now, the one that future will spent time building. However, now that the planet is breaking up and they are escaping, that future couldn't have happened. Also will has no reason to finish building the robot in his original timeline. Also the Proteus searching for the Jupiter 2 was never going to find it because they time jumped 20 years in to the future, so for those years inbetween the ship physically didn't exist. Time travel gets all very confusing

Yes. This is a bad movie. But it's also one of the movies I saw in theaters with my father. Bless him. Thus no matter how bad it is that fact alone makes me think fondly of the movie.
Yeah, a lot of the characters were grinning as if it was just a fun roller coaster ride rather than an extremely life-threatening gambit that had a very low probability of working.
Because the Older Will felt that he can’t allow his younger self be fatherless like he did. He also ask to him to promise his older self to take care the family.
It's literally directly explained in the film, Will's been manipulated by future smith into blindly creating the time machine to reach earth, ignoring the fact that he's destabilising the planet hes on in the process. John is straight up like 'look what you've done here, the planet is about to explode, who's to say the same won't happen to earth if you open the portal there'.
As a reboot, this was pretty good. Wish they had used the adult Bill Mumy for the adult Will towards the end of the movie. It would have made it more of a hit, guaranteeing sequels. But all in all I would give it a 9/10!!
I'm a retired physicist. Yeah, using a gravitational slingshot by going straight through the interior of a planet as it's "breaking up" is nuts in too many ways to list.

for a 90s movie, the cgi looks still good.

but that was half the fun of the movie, it's creative freedom no shackled down by anything.
I know the movie is bad, but as a child this was amazing for me.
At least its Cheesy Bad and not Boring Bad. Boring Bad is a lot worse than Cheesy Bad.
It's not that bad. I've seen a lot worse.
There were a few head-scratching moments, but it was an entertaining movie.
With a bit more polish, this movie could be great, but as it is, it's inspiring for people who want to make movies that improve on its ideas
