He didn't get bitten by a spider 🕷️ he was scratched on the back by 1 of the spider's as he was escaping from the giant space ship. Then he mutates slowly!! But by the end they kill the spider doctor but the unmuteated doctor but still infected by the scratch has no conclusion of if he was cured or if he still mutates or is left on a different planet alone or something its not very clear by the end of the movie. Witch is something that bugged me alot from this movie.

They're both real concerning issues, and the scientific documentation goes back decades. Even the oil industry sponsored some measurements, and then never publicized the results.

My guess was that now that they know that Smith was mutating, they would excise the mutant material to stop it.

This is one of the worst attempts to make a pretty good sci-fi show into a movie. It failed because they totally changed every character.
