(1308) Review: RCS Jackknife (FPS-7P)

  • This is a frequently requested review of the RCS Jackknife Lock Pick (FPS-7P) with the composite handle. Weighing in at only 18g (0.5oz), this really is a flyweight tool - yet they didn't cut any corners on either design or quality. Priced at only $24.95, this is one of the bargains of the year. I found mine at: www.lockpicks.com/jack-knife-...

    Sweet little pocket carry kit, as you mentioned, maybe not the ideal tool for high security 7 pin locks and such, but perfect for running into common padlocks in your day to day... great review Bill, thanks!

    This was actually my first pick set. I picked many locks with this toolkit and I credit this (and you) with sparking my fire with this hobby. It wasn't long after that I started building a set from your recommendations and just from viewing your videos. I still go back to this RCS tool from now and again just for it's size and portability. Great tool, very durable. I have had mine for over a year with no damage or losses.

    I bought this about a year ago after watching this while browsing your back catalogue of videos, and it has helped me get several friends into rooms, cabinets and houses when the keys went AWOL.

    I bought one, and it really is that light. The tension wrench passes the bang-on-the-table test, as Bill demonstrates, but it only takes very slight pressure for it to pop out. I’m keeping mine in a zippered pocket for now.

    for owners of this tool, don't rely solely on the pocketclip to keep it in your pocket. it can still slip out. i still like the clip, but as added support to keep in place with say a pocket flap or elastic.

Just check out the replacement picks amd in the comment section give them the number. By the by get the aluminum one as the composite will strip within a years time

      Of course not and if you haven't already ordered one then my opinion on on your question is the most important information about this design and the reason I give it one star bc you can't give it o rating and it won't come with any type of instructions whats so ever and even it being as simple as screwing the lever back on to the knife as I have spent triple the time of tring to get it screwed back to the right spot and I have never ever achieved that and never have been so fucking pissed at a lock pick tool in the years I have been locking picking and I still Haye the person who came up with this fcikkng design and hope him the fucking worst

      Bosnianbill wow I didn't expect a reply that quick thank you. I've been working on replacing my picks but its hard to finding the right material to build with. This is a big help. Keep up the good work you do. Your reviews on locks are invaluable to someone looking for good tools and locks. I really enjoyed you destroying the kryptonite folding bike lock. Looks like something that would protect a grill from theft really well. Keep up to good work dude because you protect honest people from criminal behavior. Thanks again. Is this fun for you? I know its fun for me to use these skills in a honest manner. When I was learning this skills my mentor said a lock keeps an honest person honest. So I value your skills and I want to emulate them. Stay safe stay legal. I wish more people had morals like you

    Or do you have any other pocketknife-style recommendations for that?

    • @bosnianbill
      @bosnianbill  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In general, I like the tools for Euro locks to measure no thicker than 0.020" and oftentimes have to use something thinner, like 0.015" to get into tight keyways. The RCS picks are 0.020", but I don't know of any jackknife tool that has picks thinner than that, sorry.

      Logan, that's because you are using a bookmark. If you read that old page, you'll see that I've implemented dynamic pages that occasionally regenerate new page address (not the home page obviously). This was to improve security and also to comply with the new GDPR privacy laws, which become effective in the US later this month.

      Bosnianbill hey Bill, thanks for the reply, I did go and check, I don't have a bookmark for this page, nor a cached version, I am viewing it on a mobile phone browser (Google chrome) and even after clearing my cache and all bookmarks I still see the same message.

      I just double checked the site and it is up. The last downtime was over a month ago when we shut it down for maintenance for an hour. This is the link when you click the you won icon locklab.com/you-wonnw6eq1/
