In this video join me (and Joli) for a super long 2 hour plant chores video! I imported some plants recently and they've not all acclimated as planned, so some major plant rehabilitation is in order. There have been lots of plant to do's recently - repotting, watering, dusting, pruning, propagating, repotting, potting up and soooo much more. My plant chores have been getting on top slightly recently and I've been feeling a bit burnt out and overwhelmed by all my plant care. I talk about plant burnout in this video, and some of the things I do to stay motivated when it comes to caring for my houseplants. Thank you to everyone who asked questions, and I really hope you enjoy the video!

WOW! Joli, the master gardener 😊Notching and propagating! What a great doggie talent! Love it 🥰 Take lemons and make lemonade. ❤

  • @stevewalls7805

Haha is anyone else glued to the rug saga as a subplot? 😂 nice to know I’m not the only person who puts stuff off. Sending positive vibes for the props 😊

  • @DominicSaggione

I hate leaving comments because I always feel like they come off as criticism, but you should rinse your PON in a bucket, then empty it outside. It will for sure clog the plumbing. When i rinse it in the bucket, you can see so much sediment. I heard perlite is the same but i never rinse my perlite. Also, have you looked into the Vitsjo shelving from ikea? They may be perfect in front of the windows. Your collection is a complete inspiration. I’ve learned so much from you over the years. Only halfway done with the video. Already sad that it’s almost over 😂

Thank you for doing this video from someone that has a ton of plants and 2 dogs. I have been a plant lover since late 1980s/early 1990s and I had it mostly under control for some time, but then suddenly the availability of some that used to be so expensive, and the availability of things that just didn't exist for me (In Wisconsin USA), I brought so many new plants in the last 5 or 6 years... And this combined with some of my older plants being enormous has created space problems. I'm so attached to each and every one of my plants, I would hate to give even 1 up!... So I really appreciated someone fighting the same battles and trying to fix the challenges. When Ross moved in, I thought "How are they going to do this?!?" And I just love seeing how to handle things and it gives me ideas for what will work in my house. Thank you!

  • @Kaylee_4740

Best line ever ‘it’s perfect, I’ve got all this space… and I guess it’s just like how a goldfish grows to its bowl..’ I think we need that on a t-shirt 😅😅😂😂

  • @dora9368

    The Sarawak looks great 👍

  • @sallyfisher7389

I just love these vids from you. so relaxing, like hanging out with a really good friend. also it always feels like a conversation?? haha like I don't feel like your just talking at me like some other TH-camrs IKNWIM 💚

  • @pinstripesuitandheels

Claire, if you had a house, you'd probably fill it with plants until you ran out of room just as much. I think downsizing will be your best bet to make your space, and your collection, more manoeuvrable.

  • @meredithdavis5167

Thank you for the relaxing and relatable video. You always soothe my nerves with your calm demeanor and the positive spin you put on just about everything! I love watching you make decisions out loud - I find myself doing that as well.

  • @nakikiish

Shelfs hanging from the ceiling! Worked for me and my pets

  • @lindaedwards4632

I’m glad your plants didn’t suffer to much from the crash 👍 It’s amazing how shuffling a couple of plants and adding a new shelf made so much space. 😀🇨🇦

  • @DopeyIan88

Just discovered, but might be late to the party, that B&M have spinning shelf storage plates. They are clear plastic and are decent size (medium drip tray sized). They are great for props in cups that are kept in ikea cabinets. Means I no longer have to lean over plants or constantly knock plants over when watering. £4 a tray but well worth it.

  • @jessicapetrin1655

I would put the euphorbias in the bedroom for now and order those gates so you can put them back there with peace of mind 😊

  • @JacquelineJax

I think you did a great job. I’ve been working very diligently at making my entire studio and apartment and two more of a jungle because I like to paint the plants so it’s been really fun learning about so many different kinds.

  • @dora9368

Claire you have a gorgeous home, and beautiful plants.😊 I'm glad Jolie and the plants are okay🌿🐕💯

  • @lovesyorkies3395

I have “baby gates” that I put up when I want my dogs to stay out of an area. If you have a discounted home goods store, you can find a decorative one there… that’s where I purchased mine. My daughter’s dog tends to tail whack my plants so when she comes home for a visit, I rearrange plants.

  • @vixistixi

Thanks jolie for enabling this great content!!! Joking aside…poor plants 🪴 xx

  • @lucyray829

I have that same shelf in my shower! My plants that need a ridiculous amounts of water live on that shelf in my shower window 💚

  • @jenniferwhitcomb4280

Your videos have brought such joy and I've learned so much! I got into plants in 2020, too, as a hobby and suddenly it exploded and I wanted everything lol and then I've had to deal with a lot of issues, and I tend to suddenly get anxious and overwhelmed easily, but it has been so helpful to see how casual you are with some planty things. I also have ADHD and plants have brought so much dopamine and joy, but I totally get the sudden overwhelm when there suddenly becomes too much! The body doubling with you has been wonderful. I LOVE LOVE that you do long videos so I can listen/watch while doing my own planty things!!!! Thank you SO much!

You can cut the zip ties on the open pole and reattach the clear sheeting if that helps to not disturb the root system.
