Can't believe you waited this long to install a tune. I think I did that on the second day I owned mine. I did the bike side kit, and if you think it's hard getting the plugs off, it's ridiculously hard replacing the pins in those plugs with no slack in them at all. Thank you Yamaha!! Now pull those headers and grind that lip off of each pipe to smooth the flow (you'll see the carbon outline). I would recommend a slip on but I know you are planning a turbo. Great vid!
Guess my spring kit will wait....great video and info...BUT how come there is always 2 haters who give your videos a thumbs down, how can you hate more power big ole thumb down to the haters, keep up the great product reviews, you guys are great . Thanks for your hard work and effort.
If you only tried the stock exhaust tune, you should try one for the full exhaust even if you don't have a full exhaust, it makes a pretty big difference. I ran it that way for a few months full tune with the modified stock muffler, then added a DG dual slip-on and it was noticeable again, especially in the upper range.
In this vid we were running the slip-on tune, I definitely wanted to throw a little extra fuel at it and it seems to like it even with the stockish pipe on there for now.
After you get used to the slip-on tune, try throwing the full on and see if you feel a difference. Thats the great thing about these kits, you can always try a different tune.
I dont mean to be offtopic but does someone know a way to get back into an instagram account? I somehow forgot the login password. I would love any assistance you can offer me!
@Jameson Dominik Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Doug's unwilling to do a turbo unless he can do a full build on the motor as well. Unfortunately 1000cc Sous and I have been tying up all his free time with our garbage.... hopefully this summer though!
Does doug plan on doing a gear reduction at all or is he keeping the factory gearing? Im just curious because I just did the gytr gear reduction and im not entirely sure yet how i feel. I feel like i lost a bunch of top end. But i did just order 30s so im hoping that helps. I ride mostly wooded trails.
Hey Matt, this is Doug. No, I'm not planning on doing one for that very reason. Big tires don't really fit the majority of our style of riding, and I spend a lot of time in 4th/5th gear as it is. 30s should help ya a bit, and if not I'm sure there are plenty of people that'd buy that kit from ya. Maybe swap trans?
SXSBlog.com yeah I hear ya. factory 4th and 5th is amazing in these machines. I definitely miss it. I think if I was to do it again I would just go for the 1st gear reduction only. I think that would be the ticket. I'm going riding today in the woods, on factory 27s, so we will see how it does. the good thing for me is in the woods I'm not 5th pinned very often. I guess I may be now. my top speed is about 65 mph.
Fuel controllers are pretty simple. Typically they come with a harness for your machine and just plug into the fuel injectors / harness, then usually a ground wire that you just put wherever is convenient. Real straight forward as long as you buy from someone who provides it pre-loaded with a map. If you haven't already bought one, I'd seriously consider going the FTECU route instead.
Hi Doug did you ever switch clutches from a polaris and put a yamaha clutch on rzr to see if it would run better because yamaha clutches are easier to work on then other makes
Relax Dubz, there's plenty of shenanigans coming. Just every now and then we try to make a useful video for the companies helpin us out ya know? Can't afford all this stuff without em.
that thing aint cheap 450 bucks ,you guys think it was worth it . ..i have a little over 4000 miles on my yxz now .ive done just about all the east coast.. places and have no issues and have broke anything yet i live in shitty new york out side of buffalo. i do recommend to get the weller aip pump block off kit and the weller sway bar clamps for the rear so you dont pop the rear links.that and the neff bars have been a live saver with rocks and trees ,and they saved the bottom they go a good ten inches under the machine .that and the rekluse clutch has been killer at places like hatfield mccoy where having to stop on hills with people in front stopping like jackasses it helps.the big front bumper with the winch mount built in has saved my front end...iam also developing front fenders for it,,when i get them in to production ill have to send you a set..not getting mud in the face is always a good thing
Absolutely worth it in our opinion! We like the flexibility of being able to swap/adjust tunes without having to send the ECU out. We've also got a few machines in the fleet so it becomes a much more economical option really quickly. The power / responsiveness is definitely noticeable. Let us know when you get those fenders worked out! Love to see em! sxsblog.com@gmail.com
Hey guys in my mission to make real front fenders I came across a guy making and selling them on eBay , they will come this week , these might be the right ticket for only 350 shillings , I'll send some pics and keep you guys posted
so this does come with preset tuning options to choose from if you're not sure on how to manually tune?? and if it does, will having a rekluse clutch system effect anything? Thank you!
I added a trinity slip on stage 5 exhaust to my 2016 yxz, what would be your basic recommendation to make up for the new one on ecu changes. I guess I'm running lean. But I dont want to get to crazy. Just make it run good. Thanks
ON the YAMAHA's...they needed a HIGH/LOW gearbox (Mud, Rock Climbing, Streams, etc) and a STRONGER clutch.. & better center of gravity Then I will buy.
Is it me or is Doug glowing?...like a radioactive angel Doug. Anyway sweet vid fellas.
It's how ginger skin reacts to the sun.
I’m sorry but Doug and his YXZ is this whole channel!

We got a little something special coming from a sponsor. Not quite a turbo, but just as pricey. lolol
Not a supercharger either, don't get your hopes up... lol
SXSBlog.com That's a shame, would like to see that install video.
SXSBlog.com long travel?
Danny Williams is still an old woman mb
Guess my spring kit will wait....great video and info...BUT how come there is always 2 haters who give your videos a thumbs down, how can you hate more power big ole thumb down to the haters, keep up the great product reviews, you guys are great . Thanks for your hard work and effort.
haha, thanks! We don't worry about the few thumbs down. They're welcome to speak up if they have complaints.
Rick is one of em you just know it.
SXSBlog.com
it's definitely the guys from dirt trax

I don't blame him I am looking forward to seeing it and waiting to make a yxz buggy.
Yeah that would be sick! YXZ rock bouncer
SXSBlog.com yes it will be the first if I can get all the metal and all.
Awesome video! Was wondering how technical the bench tuner was but cleared it right up. When she's ready for a tune I will go this route no doubt!
Yep, either as simple or complex as you wanna make it! Best option for tuning in our opinion.
I dont mean to be offtopic but does someone know a way to get back into an instagram account?

@Brody Max instablaster ;)
@Jameson Dominik Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and im in the hacking process atm.
I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Jameson Dominik It worked and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thank you so much, you saved my ass :D
Wow Douglas! Lightning bolts after 1 beer?? And after 2 beers Thor himself shows up?
More like Pikachu. Takes a few more beers or a turbo to reach Thor status.
Doug's got those magic hands!
keep it up nice video learning a lot about yamahas sxs..
Content Kings
how many Doug pounds did it take to get the ECU out of the yxz lol
I forgot to mention the specs:
-1.3 Doug pounds (D-lbs) to release the ecu holding strap
-4 Doug pinches (P-pchs) to release both ecu clips
SXSBlog.com thanks for the reply man. this is the second time you respond to my comment keep up the great work
You keep commenting funny shit, I'll keep replying. lolol
SXSBlog.com thanks man
When is the turbo coming?
Doug's unwilling to do a turbo unless he can do a full build on the motor as well. Unfortunately 1000cc Sous and I have been tying up all his free time with our garbage.... hopefully this summer though!
Sous got a friggin trophy! Hes fine. He needs to sit down and be content.
you should paint your YXZ black and put batman logo's on it cause it sure looks like a batmobile
With the "per cylinder" tune, you should make a lope tune for it. lol
Does doug plan on doing a gear reduction at all or is he keeping the factory gearing? Im just curious because I just did the gytr gear reduction and im not entirely sure yet how i feel. SXSBlog.com hey Doug do you know how to put fuel controller on yxz 1000 there's no videos anybody putting one on after they put a new exhaust on
Fuel controllers are pretty simple.
Doug Butterfield I already bought one it's a ejk
You guys oughtta make a video on doing front end alignments at home, tried a couple methods and I never can get the shit straight
We've covered it a few times for sure, but maybe we can do a specific alignment video one day
Hey, why did he install graves slip on tune when he’s running stock exhaust. Is it because of the exhaust mod?
Hi Doug did you ever switch clutches from a polaris and put a yamaha clutch on rzr to see if it would run better because yamaha clutches are easier to work on then other makes
If I owned a Polaris I might consider it, but no, haha
Were you guys up at silver lake for opening weekend.? I was pretty sure I seen you up there
There was a couple people from our extended group but 1000cc Sous, Wildcat Nick, and Doug Battlefield stayed back to work on Glamis prep!
Now find a tuning company for the XP & CAT!
Maybe FT ECU will want to jump in the game?
They haven't yet. Had my hopes up.
I don't have sxs. but I do have a 2017 570. you videos show great things! how you are supposed to blow tires, drink rum, just good things!
that is nice!
William kramer used be like that no more now they got a lil sponser
why the hate?
no hate just call it how i see it
Relax Dubz, there's plenty of shenanigans coming. Just every now and then we try to make a useful video for the companies helpin us out ya know? Can't afford all this stuff without em.
So what is the new top speed with the ECU flash? Somebody told me they'll do 95
Anyone know if they upgraded the rear drive shaft?
What kit did you get I see there is a couple options or what was the price thx guys
FTEcu gave us both kits. I think we would likely recommend the bench side kit due to its simplicity.
that thing aint cheap 450 bucks ,you guys think it was worth it . ..i have a little over 4000 miles on my yxz now .ive done just about all the east coast.. places and have no issues and have broke anything yet i live in shitty new york out side of buffalo. i do recommend to get the weller aip pump block off kit and the weller sway bar clamps for the rear so you dont pop the rear links.that and the neff bars have been a live saver with rocks and trees ,and they saved the bottom they go a good ten inches under the machine .that and the rekluse clutch has been killer at places like hatfield mccoy where having to stop on hills with people in front stopping like jackasses it helps.the big front bumper with the winch mount built in has saved my front end...iam also developing front fenders for it,,when i get them in to production ill have to send you a set..not getting mud in the face is always a good thing

There are basic preloaded tunes available, yes. Should be no issue with the Rekluse
@@SXSBlog awesome! thanks for the reply!
i want see you drag race whit your friend whit the other yxz bleu and whit to see differance
Is this still a good option for tuning or it their something better out ?
There are other options but this is still a good one!
Do you still have your smog pump?
I added a trinity slip on stage 5 exhaust to my 2016 yxz, what would be your basic recommendation to make up for the new one on ecu changes. I guess I'm running lean. But I dont want to get to crazy. Just make it run good. Thanks
They are definitely on the lean side. Flash Tune is good for that adjustment. You can send it to us if you don't want to invest in the hardware.
How do I get ahold of you to discuss it.
SXSBlog.com@gmail.com
Is there anything Doug can't do?
I've been trying to learn guitar which is pretty fricken hard, and whistling with two fingers...can't figure that out either.
may i add doug that hair is stellar lol , like a golden retriever
Which tune did you use?
why exactly wouldn't u say how much it was? u know that's what every person watching wants to know
nice! do they make one for wildcat 1000??
I wish!
masterdoug6969
I'm gonna get so much spam mail now. lol
Are you considering turbo/supercharging your YXZ Doug? Would love to see a vid on that.
no thumbs down yet.....
I guess dirttrax isn't online right now!
lol
The Lester's are at it AGAIN!!
SXSBlog.com haha
you know the famous butthurt thumbs down is coming!
How many guys calling Doug for a Ecu tune lol
mit iu Yamaha YXZ1000R
ON the YAMAHA's...they needed a HIGH/LOW gearbox (Mud, Rock Climbing, Streams, etc) and a STRONGER clutch..
& better center of gravity
Then I will buy.
fake news
it was Russia
SXSBlog.com Bahahaha
