Great job and video. I also use zip locks lol. Did with my Supercharger install. I also plan adding the rayscar Gusseting to my Weller front. And Texterra style ones.
Forgot to subscribe the last time we talked on one of you vids, but I did now. Really nice work with the gusset kit! Very nice welding and that kit looks sorted out for sure! Also, nice looking place to ride, I don't know where you're at in Michigan, but I am looking forward to heading up there one day with my RMAX! Bundy Hill is all I've been at... You were talking about tig, maybe look into a multiprocess machine, I have the MP210 Lincoln and it's been a good box. Thanks again for the video!
Thanks for subscribing! We really appreciate it. I the main trails that I ride are in the northern lower peninsula of Michigan in like the Houghton Lake, Kalkaska areas. I will definitely look into that welder. I have an Airgas a few doors down from my work that sells Lincoln. I’ll check with them.
Sounds good! I'll have to check out those places, I have a buddy that grew up in Grayling (I think) so I'll have to tap him for some more information as well. Have you ever ridden at Hatfield McCoy? I know that is sort of a drive for you, but if you are able to ride there for at least 4-5 days, I think it would be worth the drive. I'm heading back there in October for a few days. It's a great place, I feel like a YXZ would be sweet there as well. And yeah, check the MP210 out, it's a nice smooth machine, I think you'll like it, I got mine at a local place like Airgas too, they had a display model that they knocked a few bucks off, so that was helpful. @@FilthyKnobsOffRoad
Good video! I'm still waiting on my kit to come. I'm going to TIG mine up hopefully it goes as smooth as this. Make some plasma table content, I was looking at the same plasma table.
Sweet! I will post some cnc content soon. Thanks I welded the main front face of the plates but I also did some stitch welds on the back side of the plates wherever I could reach.
I just had my 2020 SS front end half apart to service and adjust my suspension. Excited to see how this works out for you, and hello from Fife Lake Michigan 👍👊🇺🇸🤘
Impressed with how well you not only completed a daunting (to me, a non-welder/fabricator) project, but with the video you produced. Real quality stuff. I bought a nice set of spanner wrenches, and found that a punch and hammer works better. I’m still tweaking crossover engagement, and would be interested to hear/discuss what you figure out. Again, excellent work, and look forward to more videos 👍👊🇺🇸🤘
Wow you are real close to me! Thank you for the compliments. It was a ton of work and on projects like these it would take probably half of the time if I wasn’t recording the entire process. When I was done I had 7 hours of video to go through. I’m really hoping to get my suspension dialed in soon. I have a feeling it’s not going to be perfect until I get new springs and re-valve from Weller but I should be able to make some improvements for sure. I hope to see you on the trails. We ride through Fife Lake often. Usually take the back trails to the Upper bar and Grill (previously Gordy’s Place).
Really nice ! Im jealous lol ! Its expensive with import post fees to order the cool stuff from the US to Sweden . payed like 500 for the 911 fab fenders and a huge chunk for the aftermarket assassins eco and tune lol but awesome stuff! Big gun exhaust got that nice sound! Nice work you be doing there!
Wow. I never thought about that. It would probably be really expensive because the box it comes in is fairly large and heavy. Maybe you could build or have someone build similar gussets locally.
Look at AVID UTV cars they have the fender liner plates you're asking of. Maybe you can order through them and modify if you have to. They look like sheet metal with clips like an aftermarket roof
I like it a lot. Seems to ride a lot better. Still nose dives off jumps but not quite as badly. I need to get my shocks tuned. I would recommend the gusset kit alone just for peace of mind. I’ve seen a lot of pictures lately of yxzs and X3s with broken front shock towers that blew through the front plastic and the front end of the machine just laying on the ground. I’m really happy I did it. I’m trying to get the motivation to do it to my second yxz.
Standard cost in Michigan is around $20/hour. I don’t have a certification and I have a 20 year old welder and a 40 year old welder. Probably not near what an actual welder would make.
I believe they are only on Facebook. Here is the link: facebook.com/Rayscar13?mibextid=LQQJ4d To order you have to message them for a quote and payment.
Fantastic work!
You're really in your element when it comes to fabrication. So interesting to watch. I know where I'm taking my KRX to when I break it lol
Thank you. I’m always up for some fabrication work. He krx is pretty tough though. I doubt you’ll have any issues.
@@FilthyKnobsOffRoad we'll see after Hatfield and McCoy in a couple of weeks
Never had any issues with the VHT it self. Prep is key with any paint though.

Did you weld both sides of the gussets where you can reach it?

That is some skill. Nice .. Work can be happy
Appreciate it. Definitely makes me happy knowing my frame is a lot stronger now.

Now that you had this done for sometime now, do you still like it? Did it make a big difference.

what were your welder settings?
I used a millermatic 175. I believe I had the volts set at 3.5 and the wire speed at 45. ER70S-6 wire .035” diameter. 75/25 gas.
How much do you think you're welding is worth an hour $$ ????
