I love the commercial Cornette did for this Clash of the Champions, I used to watch it every year because I have it recorded from tv broadcast of A Christmas Story
I think if you go back to any top worker back in the eighties, Beautiful Bobby's name would probably come up as the best worker to be in the ring with. He came in with a lot of credibility; the fans believed in what he was doing. His selling was good, but only sold for good offense - if you came at him with something subpar, he wasn't going to take a bump for you. In the end, going into any match with Bobby Eaton, you knew that the crowd bought him as a threat and you know that this is going to look good.
@@chadk890 it's weird to learn all this stuff years later and how as a young fan I didn't realize the promotion was getting poisoned from within. I still remember when we got cable with TBS n could watch power hour at 9 am here and WCW Saturday night at 6:05.

Lol...been marathon watching 88 WCW shows, and I noticed all of a sudden the production team fell in love with that picture in picture interview box maybe like a week or two prior. With no context I’m like wtf?
Worst short-term booker? Very surprised Brian and Jim didn't mention the obvious choice- Vince Russo. He was only in WCW for about *three months* during his first run there and he fucked everything up. He was only there from October 1999 to January 2000.
