    That last moment was in Wembley Stadium in London where 90,000 fans sang “young Forever” to surprise BTS. Such a feeling that must’ve been for them, esp when these fans aren’t Korean and wouldn’t be as comfortable with the language. That’s just amazing to me💜

      @@KimmyGibson just to add to the origin of jimin’s tattoo: initially it was just a temporary/fake tattoo that he used for their MAMA 2014 performance with another group (block B) alongside an easter egg of the name of their upcoming album (HYYH/most beautiful moment in life) on the other side of his torso. It was permitted back then to be broadcasted because it was just considered like make up for a performance. But after he had it made for real, i saw a couple of tv performances where he had to tape over it if he’s wearing sheer or light colored tops. I find that really bonkers, but yeah, that’s the broadcasting rules 🤷‍♀️

    BTS does 'lives' after every award show - they don't go to after-parties, instead they go back to their hotel/dorm/company and do a live to talk to fans and thank them and tell us about their experiences at the award show. One of the things I absolutely love about them.... Yes, Run BTS! is a fun variety show, although the earliesr seasons can be a bit cringey because they more closely followed Korean/Asian styles of shows which put the members in embarrassing situations...But they soon switched gears and stopped doing that and it became more wholesome fun and let the guys be themselves. I've learned a lot about Korean culture through Run BTS. The show has been on hiatus now for six months and I miss it SO MUCH.

  • @naffad
    @naffad 2 ปีที่แล้ว +390

    At the beginning they were talking about The Big Three Music Companies in South Korea i.e. SM Entertainment, JYP Entertainment and YG Entertainment, the artists that BTS won against (coming from a small Company Bit Hit at that time). Their Run BTS series is basically their variety show where they play games and challenges etc. 'In the Soop' is a staycation series where they go away together to basically rest in between their schedules. 'Bon Voyage' is the overseas vacation trips. I really enjoyed your comments.

    The video where RM and Suga were called girls for wearing stage make-up is actually longer. They're called sell-outs for joining a boy band/idol group. When Suga said he'd already been in underground and he was struggling financially because his beats were stolen, he was ridiculed for not staying underground and enduring such hardships and for giving in to temptations. What is amazing to me was how RM and Suga kept their cool and responded with well-reasoned answers. They made it clear that the important thing for them is making music and sharing them with listeners, in whatever form it may be, whether in a hip-hop group or a boy band. They responded to these criticisms and hate in their songs, such as the Cyphers pt. 1-4, and through their achievements.

    I always miss that most documentaries don’t extend Jimin’s part a little bit more. He had the pressure of being the member with less time to adapt to the training before their debut (for me it shows all the effort he made to keep up and develop all the necessary skills to reach the level of his companions. He helps J-Hope with the choreo arrangements and support for the rest of the members, he got a cultural recognition for his MMA 2018 fan dance, he’s actually one of the most influential k-pop figures as an individual. He’s also considered a role model for a vast number of k-pop idols. There’s also a lot of artist that use him as a “muse” and his figure appears very often in their artwork.

    Something funny for V/Tae's portion of this is that, when he was auditioning, the casting people kept asking, "더 없어?" (what sounds like 'doh upsoh') and it's translated here as 'Anything else?' but it really means 'Nothing more?' So it sounds like they were expecting more every time and acted like what he'd already done was maybe insufficient xD So that's why he kept pulling out new tricks.

    40:48 Just letting you know, Jungkook got signed on at 13 years old in 2011 (before he turned 14 in September). Whenever JK or the guys say he joined at 15, he really was 13 (in global/international age) but in Korean age system it’s 15. In Korea, you’re considered 1 years old when you’re born (at least on paper?) and when it’s the New Year (January 1st), you’re another year older even if it’s not your birthday yet. So JK was born 9/1/97, and at 4 months old in January 1st , he’d be considered 2 years old already. It can get confusing, because BTS as a group officially debuted in 2013 when JK was actually 15 years old (global age) that time. Tip, if BTS or native Koreans refer to their ages, just minus 1-2 years in your head, which would be their actual age. Anyway, what’s missing in regards to BTS members attending his high school entrance ceremony and his high school graduation, members also attended his middle school graduation before high school as well. So they attended 3 school ceremonies ☺️ So he was young, and the guys took care of him as big bros. JK joined Big Hit because he saw an old video of RM rapping and decided on Big Hit instead of bigger , influential companies.

      @julieharris4700 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SnapCracklyPop 🙂 that's why I tend to write the month in full. I'm afraid your comment can be ambiguous if he doesn't remember JK's birthday from the video. There is nothing indicating you are from the US using the US date order or are using the dd/mm/yy date order either because that is what you're used to or using it because you know he's British. (James Corden recently had a show where he was arguing about date order.) My country uses the day/month/year order but I actually prefer year/month/day which I think they use in Korea and Japan. 😊

    Another documentary I'd recommend is "The Most Beautiful Life Goes On" by Rice Squad, which summarizes their career. You can see how they grew slowly and organically, doing better and better with each song and album in sales and chart performance. It's really inspiring how they never tire of working hard and improving themselves, how they are never impatient in working towards their goals.
    BTW, it's common in Korea for record labels to hold auditions to recruit trainees. They'll train these trainees for a couple of years and pick the best ones to form boy bands and girl groups.
    BTS was also formed similarly, with a total of around 30 trainees coming and going over a period of 2-3 years. But Bang Si Hyuk was so impressed with RM that he planned to build a hip-hop group around him. To get a clearer picture how BTS and idol groups are formed, you can check out the first episode of "The Rise of Bangtan", a very well-made docu-series.

    The reason that the song at the end is so emotional is that BTS was surprised since that song wasn't on the Wembley playlist. When the song started playing, they were confused. The "BIG 3" are the 3 biggest music companies in Korea (at that time) they are SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment and JYP. And yes, Blackpink is part of the Big 3 (they are from YG) which is where theyre 'privilege' comes from. Groups from the big 3 did not go thru the hardship and the challenges that BTS and BigHit went thru (not saying the groups from there dont work hard because im sure all of them do). Also, when BTS won the grand prize it was the FIRST TIME somebody not from the Big 3 ever won a grand prize! (Thats how historic that win was) of course, BTS has since won and sweep almost all awards in Korea since then and nobody has still come close to their level of achievement

    YES! Every member is talented and brings something to the table. It's cool that you saw that right away. Little tidbit, BTS self produced album BE was made and released during the height of the pandemic. The guys took on different roles in the album making process as well as the music making process. It's a great album documenting the feelings they had from the shock of being crippled by the pandemic to dealing with the situation and like all BTS songs, seeing the light at the end of the dark tunnel. The title track Life Goes On is a beautiful song and will forever be extra special to us, the people who have lived through this global pandemic. Tidbit you might have missed in this video but JK directed the MV for LGO so I'm excited for you to see that.
    I think this is what sets BTS apart from the other Kpop groups. They write about their lives, you can really see it in their music and it's reflected in the conversations they have and share with us. We're lucky Big Hit emphasizes the inclusion of the artists in the process of making their music unlike a lot of the other companies. At the same time, we're super lucky that BTS members in themselves are very introspective and take a lot of care in the message they want to give the world. Their music has the power to heal, change and save people. We often say that BTS finds you when you need them the most. I don't know how BTS will touch you or a portion of your life but I'm happy that you've come to know them. That means a new happiness is starting for you like it did for a lot of us when we met them. Thank you for the reaction and look forward to BTS Proof coming out JUNE 10. Join us in celebrating their anniversary as well as the release of the new single Yet To Come also on June 10. It'll be so much fun 💜 if no one has mentioned yet. Every year on their anniversary we have like a celebration with many activities leading up to the anniversary date. We have a lot of content and last year we had an online concert to celebrate. If you're lucky they might do bang bang con which was a day where Big hit streamed their old concerts for free. Anyways if you have the time, come join the festivities! Borahae 💜

    I loved your reaction and loved hearing your thoughts on different things. A fun fact: at the end when the audience was singing for them their song and they all cried (you showed your goosebumps to the camera) was actually in Wembley Stadium in London, on their secong sold out night. That's why they were all crying. Nearly 70k European fans were singing their song for them in Korean. I was there, it was very emotional, everybody was crying, not just the boys... :)

    "Being signed" to the company and "training" to become an idol are a bit confusing concepts because I don't think we have anything like this in Europe. I'd say it is comparable to sports. Teams will sign young people and they train to become professional athletes but only a few will actually play with the pro team. These companies also sign talents and some might get put into a group and actually perform after a lot of training.

    We have some in the fandom that are "OT6," which means that they only love bts without a particular member, and they still use the name army. Thank you for your excellent reaction. It was very nice to see that you picked up the details and took your time to know our boys.
    Here are some words/situations that you can remember, and once you are in the rabbit hole, you may think about me and laugh like, "ah, I remember that one;-)*
    once you jimin you can´t jimout / epic: Lachimolala, hobi (Jhope) once said: "You could see the passion in our eyes" and V replied: "That´s the eyeliner", V´s 4D personality, Jin´s incredible sense of humor AND AND AND.

    I really liked your opinions for this video, I've been following you for a while, and I see your reactions to BTS (I'm South American so I apologize for not writing English well) I'm one of that 5% in age (60 years) that follows BTS since 2016, for its musical, artistic and conceptual proposal. It is difficult even for BTS to define BTS (According to RM's own words in his last V live, after the concert in Las Vegas, towards the end of the video he talks about what BTS is for him today. (V live Application with which they connect live with their fans) I would recommend you to watch the series "The Rise of Bangtan", you will not regret it as it really places you chronologically in the journey of the band, but not only that, but also in the culture to which they belong. There are 21 chapters so far that are very easy to watch since they are a genius of editing and depth, a human understanding. If you want to do it with your followers, I am sure they will accompany you. Greetings and thanks for your sincere reactions .

    RM does not have a driver’s license. Suga has done producing for other KPop and multiple American artists. He recently composed and produced for Psy. You must remember him. He had one song that made it to #1 almost overnight in the US and the UK. Most of their #1 hits were written and produced by RM and Suga. However, PD Bang, the founder of Hybe, composed and produced a number of their early pieces. He is incredibly impressive. He composes one song a day minimum. He plays piano at concert level. Suga had a very fraught relationship with his Dad. He has opened up amazingly; now he his one of the funniest. JHope is an amazing dancer. He was the most well known of the group. It was originally going to be a hip hop group. (The group is extremely funny. I suggest you watch Bon Voyage, Run and In the (White House) Soop 1.) Hope otherwise known as Hobi is one of the groups counselors, huggers and part of the glue that holds them together and ensures their excellence. I better stop. I joined the fandom in 2013 but knew of them before that because of my daughters. We lived in Seoul for 2 years due to my work and saw Suga and Hobi before they joined BTS. Hobi does most of what he is scared of with encouragement from Jimin and Taehyung.)

    You earned a sub. This is one of the best reactions to BTS I've ever watched.
    I'm sure others have filled these in but little FYIs for each member:
    RM's mixtapes are RM and Mono;
    Suga's mixtapes are Agust D and D-2, has a red belt in taekwondo, can play can piano and guitar well;
    Jin initially intended to be an actor, auditioned as an actor, can play the piano and guitar;
    J-Hope is also a sub vocalist, he can sing if one of the vocalists isn't able to perform and yes, he is such a scaredy cat; mixtape is Hope World
    Jimin practices playing the piano and guitar; though the smallest at only 5'9", he's trained in different martial arts (kendo, Hapkido, Kung Fu, Taekwondo);
    V, besides the saxophone, practices the piano and violin and is a good actor;
    Jungkook can paint really well and can play the piano, drums, guitar, also has a black belt in Taekwondo.

    When they refer to "The Big Three" they are talking about the 3 biggest entertainment companies: JYP, YG, & SM entertainment.
    Now Big Hit entertainment/HYBE is the 4th tanks to BTS.
    The major 3 entertainment companies have most control over radios plays and tv spots. Plus they have money to fully support their artists.
    BigHit was small in the beginning and almost went bankrupt. Now due to BTS they bring in more revenue then all of the Big Three. Which has established the company as the 4th (Big three is now Big Four).💜

    whenever I hear abt BTS being smth like more than beatles / Mj, adele YK the icons of music it's always so crazy no matter how many times I watch these vids like seriously. it blows my mind and I am SO proud of bts
    edit: like one-day ppl are going to be saying abt some other artist or grp saying 'more than bts' cause it's going to be a crazy achievement and that's so crazy to me like so proud, just like how proud the Beatles fans, MJ fans, adele etc was probably of them setting those achievements. 3:23 The Big 3 are kpop companies are SM ent, JYP ent and YG ent. (blackpink are from YG, though i dont think they have a daesang) For the longest time in the kpop industry, these 3 companies had a monopolization of the industry. BTS broke that when they became the first group not from the Big 3 to win a Daesang in 2016 (basically one of the 4 main categories in award shows- Album/Artist/Song/Record of the year). They then proceeded to open up the doors for groups in smaller companies to gain more recognition. Paving the way for them :). In 2019 and 2020 they won all 4 of those awards each year, becoming the first to do so in korean music award show history.

    4:51 cause the words ' they go beyond music' is REALLY true like seriously, and i'M SO HAPPY even South Korea president knew that, that's why. BTS music and themselves as people has saved lives through their music, their positivity, they are the most humble and hard working artists, they put so much effort to make their music more than music because they are aware of this. They've been doing this since the beginning too even though they were literally like 'nobodies' in this industry but they still did it for 9 YEARS. That's how u know they are genuine abt this bro

    I would love to see you begin reacting to The Rise of Bangtan which is a fan made documentary. But you'd never know it was made just by ARMY. It is directed truly like an extremely professional series and is SO deep and informative. It isn't always happy, but is extremely raw and honest. You really see from pre-debit on what they faced and how they worked so hard to get a chance just to exist. It is almost unfathomable that they are where they are today when SO many people and so many in the industry looked down on them even until today. In 2017 they had their first deep success in the US and won their first Billboard Music Award. When they returned home, they were mocked and the award was called a meaningless piece of paper, looking down on an award outside Korea. BTS and ARMY have an insanely close relationship and BTS never win an award that they don't attribute to ARMY. They're such genuine, passionate people. They deserve every single success and comfort in this world.

    Because K-Pop has so many bands in it, they all have had, & still have, to compete with one another for attention & income. That competition is part of the business of the K-Pop industry, but also understandably in music industry in general around the world. It's just highly competitive in South Korea because of so many music labels because of KPop's lucrative potential. Because of that, people have to invest their time, effort & money, if they want, on the one or few band(s) they choose to eventually become fans of. When a new band comes along, such as BTS in this example, the fandoms of other previous bands feel threatened & jealous that this new band, or bands, may invade in the space, time & money of these prior bands that these fans are already heavily invested in both financially & emotionally. This is where fandom wars & hate stem from, i.e. the potential threat of less income & new fans coming to these previous bands & instead going to new bands such as BTS. But it wasn't just other fandoms. There were mistreatments at shows, some other musicians, as well as xenophobia outside of South Korea. However, BTS & their ARMY fandom fought back all that hate & it is that vigilance & underdog story that has driven them to where they are now. And the hate, bias, jealousy & xenophobia that BTS got were slapped back into the faces of where all that negativity came from. As far as a critique on Taylor's draft video, I wish she put a 50%-75% black background on the captions so it's quickly & easily more readable, because all the moving video & colors behind the caption words create chaos making it harder to read, despite the black outline around each letter. You can see that translucent black background on some of the captions in the video as examples.

    JK has several belts in marshall arts. V is also amazing he is the son of a farmer, very funny, writes beautiful poetry, has been voted the handsomest man in the world, in KPop and in Asia. He also has a very high IQ and acted in a popular period drama with a lot of humor. He has come up with slogan, coined a word, had a program for Armys where he introduced them to music. He has designed characters for their video games. He is a romantic. He specializes in out-of- the-box thinking. He is also incredibly popular among other celebrities and belongs to a high profile friends group, Wooga Squad. I think it is fair to say that he is the most loved both in the group and out.

Also during muster which is a meeting type of concert for the Armys, Bts members create unit songs and they would publish it only for soundcloud so it would be available for the Armys for free and not getting any type of income from it, as to what they always say it is for the Armys💜.

In The Soop they built a house so members could take a break from their busy schedules and just relax, do hobbies, etc... And Bon Voyage they follow the boys as they travel to different countries, etc... I think for In The Soop there is 2 seasons so far and with Bon Voyage there are 4 seasons. As far as Run BTS there are currently 151 episodes (they currently are on break from that).
