    Ninja 2.12 seconds GCD recast also feels so satisfying, not too slow like most jobs and not too fast like Monk, sits perfectly in the middle.

    • @ghozter1
      @ghozter1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      "not too fast" laughs in wow's base 1.5sec gcd, which most people with Haste take it down below 1.10sec haha. Oh and with certain buffs that some classes can give to their own or to party members, or receive from items (trinkets) it can go down to 0.75sec

    • @icholi88
      @icholi88 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @@ghozter1 wow doesnt have to weave OCD and their 123 rotations are basically the whole gameplay loop, it goes faster because you have less to think about and almost no decision making. Most of the scaling from WoW is also broken because 70+% of the power comes from external systems, borrowed power and items (like trinkets) so you can trivialize content much faster with gear.
      In fact the world first race as devolved into which turbo whale virgins can game the system/RNG enough to match the gear check and sqeek a win through before grinding it to dust the next week with ilvl changes/nerfs because now the people have beaten it Blizzard can actually tune the content correctly... its a joke without a punchline.

    • @ghozter1
      @ghozter1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@icholi88 jesus bro, who hurt u. My comment wasn't meant to be negative, I was just mentioning the gcd difference between the games and how I prefer one over the other. I still enjoy ff, also in wow you do have to weave in OGCD's some classes/specs more than others just like in ff.

    • @icholi88
      @icholi88 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@ghozter1 No you fish for procs and pop a trinket every 3 mins or so... WoW has a shorter GCD but I assure you it is also the slower game. I've played that game for more than a decade at a relevant difficulty and curve, wow is designed from the ground up to be as brainless as possible because they conflate difficulty with obscuring mechanics and constant gear checks.
      Mythic isn't any harder than most of the game, its just intentionally overtuned and requires you to make 40 alts and funnel money with tokens til you RNG check your way from drops and through the first month or so of content. Ultimates are designed to be cleared with current ilvl from the night of release and everything is telegraphed so you dont need to relie on a billion addons just to know basic execution of mechanics.
      Wow gets away with making people believe that top 20+ guilds are impressive instead of just whales clawing for every advantage while dropping enough cash through the shop to buy a literal new car.

    • @ghozter1
      @ghozter1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@icholi88 sure, you can have your own opinion. But I'd disagree, that's what opinions are though. WoW is definitely faster paced specially in m+, talking specifically about combat here. I main'd Ninja for ShB and even though the job is fun and faster paced it doesn't compare to the buttons I'd have to press on something like Outlaw Rogue, Fury Warrior. Talking specifically about APM. Ninja and Monk are up there but they're no faster than most of the specs in WoW, and that's not a bad thing just different games.

    Ninja is definitely one of the most fun 'specialist' flexible melee dps, and its kit in 60, 70, 80, and 90, are pretty solid.
    Ninja also actually feels like it was made for controller, plays great on it, pretty much like a fighting arcade just with more multi combo buttons sprinkled here and there.
    Only gripe, Bosses always decide they want to do mechanics on you, the second you press Ten chi Jin.

Pulling off combos and zipping around. Even with a little practice shikuchi is super smooth. • @devanwc23
      @devanwc23 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Tailionis MNK feels very similar because of the reduced GDC time.
      Getting a good feel for your movement and melee combo as a RDM doesnt feel that much different from learning to manage your ranged Ninjutsu as a NIN.
      GNB was most important for me in terms of learning/liking NIN. The busy nature of GNB and double weaving forced me to change my hotbar habits. It really helped me get used to managing a lot of oGCD's.
      As NIN, there are like a TON of single use abilites you need to track, and if I had started w/ NIN, I know for a FACT I would have developed bad habits (I ignored abilities that didnt work with my hotbar setup early on)

    Ninja is my 2nd favorite melee after SAM. It's got great movement and flexible ranged windows for full uptime. Much more fun to optimize than monk (Mnk isn't difficult to play, but the maximum optimization with demolish/twin snakes refreshing and six sided star usage is brutal). I'd love to see monk changed in the future. It's solicited as flexible, but ends up being horribly religious with PB combos and the current Nandi system

    Been a Ninja main since HW, I don't really play any other classes other than dragoon in pvp and some others in pvp. I've enjoyed every different version of the job I've played, even if Stormblood was clunky, the new abilities were still refreshing. I've been playing it for a long time so I can't say if it's difficult but maybe a groove that might be hard to find at first for some players. I do personally love TCJ, for the fast pace of ninja that almost feels like a dance (to me) TCJ feels like a nice flashy flex. For instance, we didn't have this when Ultimate weapon was a fight, but arms length TCJ when garuda comes out in Unreal feels cool.

      Update: I am so glad I took your advice despi. Now a humble lvl 41 Ninja. Beginning is rough till lvl 35/38 for Aoe in dungeons. But man do I love those mudras. Katon and Raiton are awesome. I mained Dragoon for a while (Dragonfire dive Fire 2; Raiton > Thunder). And for leveling the change to mug and trick attack is very nice. Now I can contribute early on with raid buffs and don't have to wait till Suiton for trick attack. Ninja the first job I actually enjoy playing!
      Also job quests are not so generic with the sneaking element giving it the ninja flavour.
      Was holding of on Ninja cause of the heavy Naruto influence in this job. But now I'm like: I can be like Kakashi/ Minato (Chidori/ Flying Thundergod). But then I was like the clones are there, but where is my Wind Rasen Shuriken. O yeah that's Hyosho Ranryu (ice not wind but who cares). Now I have to admit to myself I'm a Naruto weeb 😅.

    Tenchijin is so fustrating on controller because it's so easy to nudge the left stick and mess up your rotation. It'd be better to have it lock you into position so that it maintains the complexity of safe positioning.

    • @StillLivesWithMa
      @StillLivesWithMa 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah I feel like they should either remove the “effect ends upon moving” or just lock you in position. It’s frustrating when you try to do a suiton combo and then you accidentally move and it kills the rotation.

    • @NaohMkS
      @NaohMkS 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As a console player and a raider I can understand it, but being able to move and cancel ten chi jin is very useful during prog. When I have not yet mapped my burst windows properly (or drifted stuff) sometimes I find myself stuck in ten chi jin and having to cancel it to keep myself alive.
      Maybe a toggle system would be nice, a NIN gets "stuck" in ten chi jin without being able to move but if they press the ogcd again, the NIN can cancel the move and move?

    • @unholy_exe
      @unholy_exe 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Anything that "locks" you in place would never be a good idea. People were fuming at the Raijus having animation lock. The devs would probably get actual death threats if it locked u in place for the full duration of it. I personally think they should make it something like ley lines but maybe make it a tighter circle to where u can only use the 3 abilities while inside the circle and u can move to get out if u need to but u only have so long to dump all 3 before u lose the effect.

    Well, I must admit, I finished to level my Ninja to 90 yesterday but even if it's cool and all, the opener is just a little bit too much for me, I have a tandencie to mess it up (either using Trick attack before Mug, or Meisui before trick attack, Using Kassatsu when I have my 2 Mudra stacksor, because my imput wasn't taken throwing a Shuriken rather a Raiton, Using another skill and lose my Raiju or even Using Bhavacackra over Bunshin well a lot of opportunity to mess up) So When I'll go seriously in harder content (my Hardest clear was Hades EX and my hardest try was E9S, so yeah, I have a long road to do) I'll not take it, a safer one I know better and easier Like GNB, RDM or DNC is my best choice

    I've been enjoying Monk through all of Stormblood and my bud in the FC said he was surprised followed by you might like ninja then. The surprise being because of all the changes monk received over the expansions though to me that doesn't mean anything since I came in super late to FF14. So your video has given me allot to think about because even after watching all of it I'm not quite sure where my friend was going with his recommendation. If it's more well-rounded it might be a fun change of pace. I've done Dragoon to 60 and enjoy it's comparatively lax rotations, but with far less OGCD windows (despite the memes, elusive jump is still the most fun gap closer for me... just wish we had two charges with it). And Monk being aggro as heck now has a very special place for me... despite the fact that I'll probably shelve it once I'm done with Stormblood content cause my heart can only take so much chakra. lol

    I feel like the skill floor and mudras scare away the lower tier players and that's a good thing, I also feel like (while it doesn't seem like it at first) it's probably one of the best high difficulty jobs by nature of their resource system and the fact that most encounters are designed around specific burst windows between mechanics rather than endurance.
    Ninja is designed to be able to dump all of its abilities in a 30 secs window and then just flounder while jobs like SAM and BLM are designed to build to their burst window (which is much less flexible).
    They top the charts now because SAM fell off and doesnt benefit from the raid buffs or scale as well and the raid design team is forcing people into a playstyle that was custom built for ninja (mechanic phases followed by short burst). Given how difficult it is though to excel at the class people don't actually seem to mind their supremacy.

  • @25xxfrostxx
    @25xxfrostxx 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Ninja is in a strange spot. The job has been so different for so long, the people that play it have distilled down to a small group who love it and a large number that don't touch it. The devs are sort of painted into a corner with class adjustments because any changes they make are going to cause the people that love the job to lose what they've become used to.

    • @icholi88
      @icholi88 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thats okay though, not every class has to appeal to every player, NIN is fun and the people who enjoy it enjoy it because of its idiosyncrasies not in spite of them, I hope if the dev team want to touch them they just tweak potencies and let it be the high skill cap class forever.

    i love ninja :D i started as an arcanist, switched to rogue at lvl 10 thinking I'd give it a shot, and haven't changed my main since. No other job I've played really compares with the satisfaction of getting my opener 100% and every time I perfectly getting my timing right for burst windows after that. Personally my biggest gripe is I really wish there was a way to macro shukichi to 10 yalms ahead of me or something, I mess up using shukichi to get out of aoes a lot. Def agree with the tenchijin being annoying when you have to move, I've wasted it right before a boss aoe on multiple occasions T.T. Kinda wish hyoton was marginally useful, but ehhh is ok we got hyosho ranryu... Also I was crying laughing at the 89 gear Tataru gives us lmao, hurts so much (not sure if it's better or worse being a lalafell wearing it, hmmm)

    • @tacotuesdays3336
      @tacotuesdays3336 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No need to shukuchi to dodge aoes just simply walk out of them if you end up losing more than a gcd then prioritize different ogcds for disconnects starting with suiton if trick has less than 20 seconds before it's back up next up being phantom kamitachi then raiton if you have neither of these but really try to avoid throwing dagger if you can help it as it's just bad but better than pressing nothing

    • @dozingpip3501
      @dozingpip3501 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tacotuesdays3336 i mean like aoes like when im already probably almost too late (ie, i seem to always get 1 vuln from the endsinger extreme 4 rings part, or double planets, cuz sometimes I'm slow to see the pattern and the people around me aren't sure either), ofc i try to walk/sprint out, sure, but shukichi can clutch save me, when I get it right at least.
      Like yes, it is usually a tool I use for when I've already messed up and used up my sprint early, but I wish it was a tool that was bit easier to use in that context. Shouldn't need it but would be nice if it was more useable in combat.
      I feel like it should be basically on par with reaper's and dancer's dashes, but they don't require the manual targeting. I don't think it should be turned into a duplicate of those abilities exactly either, just would be nice to be able to make a macro that targets based on distance in front of the player? Not sure what else that would be useful for though. sch quick fairy placement?

      @@tacotuesdays3336 yes i'm saying the skill required to use shukichi in combat well feels higher than it should be, making it almost useless in combat until you get used to targeting it (taking a lot of practice in my personal exp, probs not worth it). imo it should be comparable with reaper's and dancer's dash as far difficulty using it, which it isn't because of the targeting. Sure I can/will also get better at the fight mechanics, but I'd like to maybe be able to use my dash to make up the 1sec delay of me being dumb/too slow sometimes. Dash should be a catch up skill imo, but it just doesn't feel like it is on ninja. Currently the best use of it is to get somewhere faster out of combat and that's it, can't use it for much else.

    However, I can't help but speculate that they will remove them with 7.0.
    The current trend is to make everything as simple as possible so it's accessible to all casua--EVERYONE! so it's accessible to everyone 😬
    I think they will give ninja Jutsu charges and Ninja Tool charges that recharge over time or when finishing combos. Then you will just use those to use a skill instead of hand signs.
