Playing ninja feels like playing mariokart with your friends except you're in a different room alone and no one knows you're try harding or even exist until you throw a red shell every now and then and the funniest part is you're in last place
When you get it down, it's so fun. I spent 5 days on a dummy. Got it all down, and OMFG... I don't care what anyone says. This Jobs DPS is stupid. Make quick macros with proper timing, and you're golden. Don't macro full rotations... that will cause you a loss in dps.
By far the best job i've ever played on FFXIV and maybe any MMORPG, it's fast, it can do everything good, it has beautiful animations & FX, it's useful, mudra is the best spellcast system ever (and not so hard to remember) and you can pretend to be Naruto, 11/10. The video is clear and short, a great job as always, the best beginners guides on TH-cam!
Yeah it's an amazing job. Got into it a couple of days ago. Tried a couple others (DRK (like), DRG (meh; dragonfire dive love though), BLM (love explosions a bit slow and hard with mechanics), WAR (simple yet fun to be a healer), SGE (fast and fun to do hectic healing, boring dps). And then there is Ninja. Didn't think I'd like it, but man do I love it's speed and mudra. Animations are awesome. Now at lvl 50, a lot to learn still, but a lot of fun while learning.

bruh i get a brain aneurism trying to do the basic ass SAM and DRG rotations without fucking up, and they're some of the simplest straightforward combos. mad respect to NIN mains, you're literally just cooler than everyone else and you know it.
i was a bit afraid of this class before but in the end it's super easy to remember the combination, i just remember the ending jutsu, if it ends by Ten then it's fire (2 combo), chi then it's thunder (2 combo) , Jin then it's ice. no matter the order you do it. i always place jin chi ten respectively on the 1 2 and 3 because it's my opener, then i do the opposite : 3 2 1 for suiton, and the only one that isn't in this order, is by deduction the doton. it's how i remembered the jutsu quickly
This may help me because as other commenters have said, no way I am remembering everything. I was thinking “there has to be an easier way to learn this.” 😂
To me all the Ninjutsu are purely muscle memory. I couldn't tell you what combinations to use for each ability if my life was on the line, but somehow I still manage to use them correctly usually. So even if you believe you won't remember them, just give them a shot. You progressively unlock more of them and get to practise all the combinations a lot until you get a new Mudra. It's not quite as intimidating as it seems on paper. Practise makes perfect!
I kind of took a mnemonic approach. I just remember two combos and adjust them situationally. Ten - Chi - Jin = single target combos skip Chi if kassatsu is up or skip Jin if it isn't reverse if I need my skill speed buff Jin - Ten - Chi = AOE combos skip Chi if doton is up Both of these also work for Ten Chi Jin (the ability)
same here lol. I could show you on a controller, but I couldn't tell you off the top of my head. It all just becomes muscle memory after 9 years. But still learnt somethings off this video, probably because since I raided at level 70, I have played a total 3 months and just done story
Same for me with fighting games I couldn't tell you the button inputs for combos but I'll always just instinctively push the correct buttons without thinking it's crazy.
idk if anyone mentioned it or if it’s mentioned later in the video but what i’ve observed (at least at level 50 bc that’s where i’m at) but the combinations of mudra appear to only depend on the last one + the length so all the 2 combo ones if it ends with chi it i’ll be raiton (iirc) same of the 3 combo ones once i realized that it helped a lot since it meant i didn’t need to remember the order of the first two. not sure if this applies with the higher level stuff tho..
As an idiot that likes playing NIN, thanks for the guide. Lots to remember, but the best way to learn is by trying, and leveling ROG does a good job of teaching you slowly the way of the Shinobi. Looking forward to more guides.
Finally a video that shows in a solid way the skills that a particular class has, without falling into videos of raids / dungeons where you could not enjoy the animations of each skill. Thanks, I was hesitating whether to continue with the ninja and I see that the kit he has is mega fun. Thx for the video!
I love Ninja because I feel like it's the most immersive of the classes. You really do feel like Naruto having to remember the mudra combinations. However, a simple way to remember them is to know that only the last mudra used affects the spell. In that regard, I like to set up the mudra in a triangular formation and remember them based on imagery. Like for example, a downwards diagonal mimics a lightning strike, while an upwards motion represents rising flames. A backwards L means "Lay down the dot," while a forward L is "Let's go faster" (huton). I'm sure everyone has their own tricks to remembering them.
Hi, I am a DRK main. Really I have no intention of maining NIN, but it is fun to level and I like knowing what I am doing. This guide really helped clear up what TCJ does because the tool tip isn't very helpful. Thanks!
Your videos give an excellent refresher on how to do these classes! The visual representation of the abilities definitely helps as opposed to just reading walls of text. Keep up the great videos!
yep perfect for me who has only bothered with story the last 2 expansions and trying to get back into it. I remembered most, but obviously some changes
Thanks again for another easy to swallow Ninja guide. Easy to understand and as someone who plays NIN it was easily recognizable how you built a rota as you went explaining ;)

Oh boy. I'd considered myself quite ninja savvy for someone that doesn't really watch guides or other stuff that much. But for some reason, I fully forgot about armor crush having a flank bonus. I just assumed it had a rear one as well. That and I forgot about hollow nuzuchi. Not that it changes much now that I know about it. But yes, good video even though I already know what to do. 2) last mudra
