Excellent philosophy. Cool to see someone who thinks the same. I have an E2HT 16650 in my pants at night for security, but I keep a 219b HDS Systems in a jacket pocket or bag for general purpose stuff. That pairing can cover just about everything, except for hand free lighting and sustained spotlighting for hunting or whatever. Nothing like having fit for purpose tools; a single mode high output personal security light is fundamentally a different class of tool compared to a torch for seeing stuff at night.Obviously we understand lights have limitations as a defensive tool, but 35,000 candela on night adapted eyes is not something you can just blink away. And good points on the use of light to achieve security in ways that don't involve going balls to the wall and directly trying to blind an aggressor. It's nice to be able to check areas before you walk into them.

Recently got a Malkoff bodyguard v1 as well as an MDC head (an older version). There is a quiet quality to Malkoff "devices" - to the untrained eye it's bog standard but if you know, you know...

I think the Weltool T1 Pro TAC has a good UI for both EDC and defense, always high mode first and 4 taps to low mode. Amazing throw and usable spill.

I love my Malkoff AA body with 14500s. Great size and good quality.

    Good video man thanks 👍
Your videos helped me make my decision on my Surefire EDC2-DFT and I can honestly say I have no regrets. It's hands down the most impressive 18650 flashlight on the market right now. 700 lumens and 100,000 candela (high candela is key for SD) and 650 meters + of throw, it's straight up insane when you look at that paired with the almost 3 hours of runtime.
It's my daily carry, it's perfect for me for EDC and SD, and I swapped out the tailcap for the Z68 tailcap to reduce pocket firing so it's even better now 👍
Of all of the lights I own I can say I'm most impressed with the overall feel/build quality of the Surefire. I have Streamlight, Nitecore, Fenix, Acebeam, ect, and when I go for a walk at night there's really one light I need, the surefire on the 25 lumen setting, paired with my Fenix PD25R on my hat it's perfect.
I have a lot of lights but I always end up coming back to the PD25R, I just really like the high candela output (for an 18350 it's impressive) and it's very easy to put on a ball cap and pair with a more powerful thrower.
If anyone is on the fence about it I can't recommend the light enough, although it costs a pretty penny, it's definitely worth it in my humble opinion.

I'll stick with my mostly budget friendly lights. Like convoy, sofirn, wurkkos, mateminco,

I've always found it difficult to find one perfect carry light. It's a lot easier to find a perfect pair of lights to suit your needs. I pretty much always carry a primary high output, long throw, tactical style light. 18650 / 21700 size and a small utility light with a more neutral flood type beam. Usually a 14500 that will also run on AA well if needed.

No mention of lumen output or candela...but I did like that thrower.

They do look like quality lights. I looked at a variety and I just wished the technical specs were better. I hate guessing what their candela (lux) is, just give those clearly like Weltool does on their site.
