I love how in the last few episodes it seemed like you were putting yourself through your own personal hell and now that everything is starting to take shape you look a lot happier!
Because I can't catch everything at the moment in the videos and I was pushing really hard to attend an upcoming event and the length of the list of things to do was stressing me out. Especially when you are alone is easy to get discouraged because of all the factors like limited resources, lack of help and the fact that project is very complex, but when you start to see results it is always such a positive boost. The fact that for the first time I can let you in to come along only makes it better, even tough it does take a lot longer :)))

Anyway I learned to work by myself which sometimes is good as you have no distractions, sometimes it's very frustrating as a helping hand would do miracles. Maybe we'll meet at an event at some point.
I think it looks even better in the flesh, but when it's finished maybe the rear is going to look even better, after all, I'm going to build a new exhaust. The interior is coming soon :)
Once the bumpers were also finished & added on, the car looked amazing. As for the wheels, I to would've chosen the Pirelli's. I'm happy to see we're trusting the process Happy new year Looking forward to seeing what the interior is going to look like

To be honest, I didn't like the yellow lettering but I think you are right they go really well, maybe I'll afford a new set, because they are quite pricey and then I'll have the lettering back, if not, I'll look for some yellow tire paint

@@CamilSofrag I particularly like the front bumper because it is so unique. And the steep angle of attack matches very well with the purpose of a rugged offroad style. I like the back bumper too, the MRS should have a rear bumper like this from the factory.
@@andyhung424able You are spot on with the front bumper, the attack angle was my main reason for choosing this one and the cool shapes came as a bonus. The rear is a bit dull now, but the finished fins, grille and exhaust will play a huge role in the overall look. Because my garage is a bit small I can't really tell but I hope that the departure angle is going to be good as well

Looks incredible but I have seen people do exteriors so as impressed as I am its similar to other project but I cannot wait to see you tackle the interior, dont think i have ever seen anyone modify the dashboard on a car that's pretty unique.

This is making me tempted to get an mr2 of my own. I’m not brave enough or rich enough to take on a project like this but it just looks so good every episode! The mr2 interior is what holds me back so I’m excited to see what you do next episode 😊
Where are you based ? Here in the UK they are a lot more affordable then other places in the world and the Roadster community is really great. You can always start by doing something that you're confident with, maybe painting the calipers or similar projects to that, and as you build your confidence you can improve. Also I hope that this channel will build a great community for people to share and help each other. As for the interior, I totally agree, compared to other cars from that era it was just bad, even the MX5 looks way better, not to mention cars like the E class or more expensive stuff
@ I’m based in South Africa and I could buy an mk 2 Audi TT, the toyota gt86 or 2 bmw z4 (one for spares obviously lol)for the same price as an mr2 spyder. Also our aftermarket support for parts leans heavily on importing so it bumps the costs up really high. Unfortunately car modding is a rich man’s game here. You can buy a whole shit box car for the price of a set of decent coil overs and exhaust system.

But on the other hand they are very easy to work on to, so it makes it ideal for a first project. I'm not going to finish the interior in 1 episode as there is a lot of things to do but, with every episode you can how it's going to come along.
@ Right! I’m looking at maybe getting a classic 1275 mini but I’m 6ft2 so maybe not lol. I’m so impressed with your plastic skills. The bumper is one of the best designs I’ve seen for the mr2. I think most have a boy racer type thing going on instead of a sleeker more modern look. I’m looking forward to the interior upgrades 😁
@@Tattoosbycal Thank you, if the theme of the car wasn't the cross country one I would have chosen something else, just because, there are so many options out there and then I wouldn't have the restriction of not using a front splitter. With your height, you're still going to fit in an MR2, maybe small mods to have a bit more room, but the Mini... Even tough I love them, they really are tiny.

At the moment my full time job is a stay home dad so I can't quit that job and after is full time this project, working in the garage and the editing... I hope that this channel will pick up and allow me to carry on doing this full time
I don't trust the nuts, at high speed they might turn into little projectiles. As it is plastic I would protect the wheels and nuts with a thick coat of varnish. But one with almost no thinner or water based so the nuts won't discolor or melt. But it's a nice look
I tried this many years ago, and I was very skeptical, I drove the car over 200km/h and they are still on the wheels to this day... Probably because, the nuts are very light and the tape is very strong and also flexible. So hopefully it will work this time as well
@@whistlingdiesel I did over 200km/h with the Dacia, I had a R5 GT Turbo engine on it and ran 1.8 bar of boost, with a modified long gear Renault Fuego gearbox on it, but that was almost 20 years ago... Maybe I'll put together a video at some point, from the only photos that I have, if people would fancy to see my first project ever. The test with the plastic nuts for the wheels was around 4 years ago, on another MR2
I don't think the fake bolts on the wheels are necessary. Your build obviously, I just think it's the first time I found myself slightly disappointed. If you want to make the wheels less dull, simply add some custom pin stripe lettering. For example on like some Rays or sprint-hart old Japanese wheels. Or go with some enkei inspired lettering. Enkei does a lot of wheels for toyota. But please get rid of the fake bolts .. :)
😕I still have one wheel that I haven't finished, so I can take a picture with both wheels side by side and see the difference, they were really dull. I'll post it tomorrow on the community here on my channel, and maybe you can find some pictures with what did you had in mind. But the main reason why I decided to install them is because they are placed inside on the face and then it makes that illusion that the "alloy" is even smaller compared to the overall size of the tire, and making the wheel look big, even tough it is the same size. Also there are more accents to come for the exterior, so you might change your mind... But the cool thing is that I didn't make any holes into the wheels, so the process is reversable.
