Had look at these the other day and added a wheel. You also have to add a wheel side QR2 to the list. I really would have thought the new QR2 would come with the new wheel when you buy a base with the new QR2 system. Or at the very least they should be including a QR2 wheel side adapter when you buy the base.
I was curious if it came with the base side QR2 when I ordered. It doesn't state it in the included parts list. I should only have to by the wheel side QR2 with my wheel right?
@@chrisreynolds6152it only comes with the QR2. Same is true for any othfuture bases
I get one when they release qr1 adapter with it. Right now enjoying my CSW2.5 for years. 8nm still a lot. The used market is already flooded with CSL DDs.
Just got my CSL DD 8nm less than a month ago. Of course just before they teased this. Personally I would say wait until the higher torque version gets released. Not sure if the 4nm jump will make that big of a difference but 15Nm, that's a different story.
Your wrong. The cs dd is 12nm holding torque with better cooling.
The csl dd is in reality more like 6NM holding torque.
So the cs dd feels plenty stronger
Closer to dd1 level than csl dd.
@@EAsportsItsintheGame187 for sure but still why wouldn’t we just wait for the even stronger version anyways? Fanatec does this with most releases. They release a base product initially and then soon after release a better variant. Same thing with CSL dd and then the boost kit shortly after. I would just probably have buyer’s remorse if I didn’t wait.
@@DanDiMaggio csl dd is out for 2 and a half years already. So its been almost 3 years for the CS DD upgrade. It was forseeable since moza R12 is out, and the csl dd is bundled for months...
Thats not the point. 12NM is basically the sweetpoint for 90% of all users.
it doesnt matter if they release a new podium variant for like 1500 Euro in 2 years if thats only applicing to 10% of the users with budget and need for power.
the bundled csl dd price is still good! its still way ahead of everything people paid for logitechs and thrustmaster for example
Ordered the 12nm version. I just cannot justify the extra cost of the DD+ for a 3nm and PS compatibility. Specially that I don't really play on PS at all. More on iracing and ACC.
But then it got delayed further. From November 7 its now pushed to 14th.
Apparently the Yellow stripe is color code for PC only and Blue for Console compatibility

im torn even more i have old clubsport v2.5 with 918 Porsche wheel. I do not get still going with those phone connectors all they have to do is put usb-c hub in the back to connect everything. I will probably pass and wait for whatever they release to replace those podium ones to really feel a big upgrade as i doubt going 8nm to 12-15 is enough of a reason just a nice to have.

Im super excited about this but im going to wait for the DD+ .. the extra 3nm is worth it to me along with ps5 compatibility as i do enjoy a little gt7 from time to time. I love my gt dd pro 8nm but want more overhead so this is perfect without grabbing a very dated dd1/dd2

If I buy an xbox wheel and use it with the DD+ base. Will it make it xbox compatible?

@@againstall4agsandtrans511Yes, the Xbox compatibility comes from the wheel not the base like Playstation.
Its a bit like a mobile phone now. I don't get it more NM but base it self getting smaller. Fanatec and Moza already have overheating issues so if I would be you I would wait or get the 25nm DD2 or just go Simucube.... As at the moment the software of Simucube and options are much better than fanatec. And you don't know what Podium version's they will release. As I think this is the entry level product of what will come from Fanatec

Not yet, im still not 100%, was it a big difference to the dd pro?
@@Just_Boris I think nobody did receive the DD Plus yet, as I also dont see anyone on TH-cam with it..
This is not just a more powerful CSL DD. This bad not has haptics and other feature upgrades. It's a totally different wheel base.
I guess maybe some others already ask this question. I have the CSL DD 8nm and I'm fully satisfied. However can be tempted by this new Clubsport DD 12nm with hope to have more precise feeling (I mainly playing AC). I have only 1 steering wheel, the old Porsche 918 RSR (brown leather). For my driving level and use this is enough. On the CSL DD 8nm I had no issue to plug it (I would say permanently) on the base. However it seems I will not be able to plug it on the new Clubsport DD 12nm due to QR2 already on the base. Question: should I buy any adaptator (as I can hear but without details in the video. If so, what adaptator) or maybe would it be possible to remove the QR2 from the base as to install my 918RSR on the Clusbsport DD base (this would be known after the first based received and tested)?

I'm waiting for a review comparing the csl to the clubsport, if there is a big difference I will probably get the clubsport. Qr2 I have no clue, I was just going to get the qr2 and replace the old one on the back of my formula v2.5.
I did pull the trigger without hesitation.
The csl has way to many flaws and the new fanatec generation with new qr and basically newer tech seems extremely promising. Can't wait für my clubsport dd in a couple of weeks.

@Gelangweilter 8NM in RFactor 2 and ACC is beautiful, 12 NM should be more then enough TBH.
My thought process is - is the 12 nm really that much more than 8? i'd think go for the DD+
DD+ not worth it at 1000.
I'm looking to get into sim racing on my Xbox Series X but am torn between the CSL DD 8Nm or going straight for the Clubsport DD. The CSL DD seems such good value right now because it'll cost only 300 when i combine it with pedals and wheel, but I don't want to be left wanting more torque in a couple of months time. What do you recommend?
Thats a hard question, I feel if you have never had a wheel let alone a direct drive then the csl dd 8nm will be perfect for you, if you have had a good wheel for a while then maybe the clubsport dd would be better.
With 12NM of torque you will probably need a rig.
I think you should wait for the dd+. It is supposed to be released this year too so the waiting time is not that long. On the other side fanatec tends to announce and take its time till release this can also be a gamble.

Can you change the QR2 to a QR1 as i own quite a few wheels with the QR1 and changing all of them to a QR2 Quick release will be a massive roadstop foe me considering this wheel

They did say at some point they will have a qr1 downgrade for the clubsport dd bases
I don’t buy it. I got my CSL DD this year in March. My wife would literally kill me if I buy a new one so short after another.
Update to Forza, I have my safety rating now. It requires a restart of the game.
Can it be, that the Safety rating every time requires a restart to refresh?

as far as im concerned the Aseteck La prima is a few bucks more and there is no way fanatec can compare to the wide-ranging usability that Asetech is proving to have. To contrast simajic Alpha mini is cheaper and probably better. With qr2 simagic wheels are also cheaper and higher quality by comparison. Fanatec DD pro served me great but at this price range the competition may be to good for them to compete with.
Do they work on console though?

Think the chip is in the base for ps and in the wheel for xbox, so i dont think it would work.
