So which DJ controller do you recommend in the same price category or less? One that has more features? I would like to know as soon as possible thank you so much! Super informative video I wish I saw it before I purchased my pioneer DDJ 200. I just literally purchased it and it’s in shipment. I’m already disappointed
The lack of trim control is definitely the biggest drawback of this particular rig. If you are trying to stay in that price range I would say look at the Hercules and Numark options new... But realistically I'd say for about that price point you could get a lot more bang for your buck looking at used units. The Traktor S4 MKi and MKii both flip for really cheap and give you a very full featured 4 channel experience.
It can but really its more for just playing a prerecorded mix or auto mix. There is significant latency with almost all bluetooth tech and were only now seeing some companies release pro audio devices that have addressed this issue.
Maybe professional DJs do not want these Budget level equipment to have an internal soundcard when they can use interfaces specifically for this with much better AD and DA conversion. Theres definitely a niche for controllers without soundcards
I don't believe the DDJ 200 has a license key for rekordbox. The XP1 has keys for RBDJ and RB DVS. It also gives you a knob to scroll through your tracks and "load track" buttons all absent from the 200. Looping abilities, beat jump... and so much more.
is it possible to connect the ddj 200 to a djm 250 mixer ? i got the djm 250 as a gift and i couldn´t get it to run with my laptop so I´m looking for a budget alternative to start djing
@@youssefaboudaya5726 I would recommend downloading the 250 drivers from the pioneer website first if you haven't already. All Pioneer gear should plug and play once you got all the drivers but I agree the software will still probably default to one primary control device.
@@alchemix206 yea I just found out that If I use my MacBook that’s touchscreen and download rekordbox and pair it with my ddj 200 then i can access all of the features missing that the ddj 400 has. Hey bro, can you please do a video on - What we'll need to get Stereo Master & Headphones Audio from the DDJ 200 along with Windows & Mac Laptop? Pretty pleeeeasseeee? Thanks for this elaborated review btw.
There was another DJ who made a really clear video on it. I'm about to head out for the weekend but Ill try and find you the link and post it for you when I get back. Basically your options are to send it out from the laptop to a good mixer or have an audio interface connected to your laptop and you can assign the software to use that sound card instead. I prefer a little mixer as it makes it easier to run headphones and gives you the gain control this board lacks.
@@alchemix206 Did you ever find this video after? I'm looking to purchase one and is this is the only thing I'm unsure about. I'm unlikely to use it with a phone setup / splitter cable etc. I want true stereo audio out and realtime monitoring, so would you just grab a secondary USB soundcard and set that as the 'monitor'? Can that be done in the software?
Hi. The output cabel is mono for master and headphones to? Can i have a stereo when I connect it to pc or Mac with usb and from pc 3,5 output make for a master and headphones to with external sound card maybe ? Thx
This is something I'm not %100 sure on. I'm supposed to be getting a focus right tomorrow to test out. Ill see if I can get a stereo signal from it. But I believe the audio out of the splitter cable from a laptop is always a split mono signal.
Alchemix Hi. I finde a solution. On MacBook i used axagon ADA-17 litle sound card usb, In DJAY i can in settings make the MacBook headphone output is used an monitor headphone and this usb soundcard output is the master. It’s perfect.
Cool set up.. can I request you to please guide me on how to connect and use the xp1 with the ddj200 bud. I have the Ddj200 and want to get my hands on the XP1 and hook them up. Thanks.
If your laptop does not have enough USB ports you will just need a hub. The XP1/XP2 come with rekordbox software and DVS too I believe so it will all be plug and play once you got the hardware.
So I ordered pioneer DDJ 200 from Walmart it’s going back as soon as it arrives. If you can’t use Spotify what’s the sense. Do you know nowadays nobody has thousands of MP3s anymore on hard drives let alone iPhone and iPad. I don’t have one song on my iPhone. I hope Spotify will work out something with the DJ industry. I wasn’t using it for performance just as a bedroom DJ. I’m so disappointed it was the hole in my stomach
Check out my video on Algoriddim/Djay Pro. I usually run it on an I pad and line it into the Aux channel of my mixer but I also have a video showing how to hack it off your laptop to work with a mixer and you can use CDJs in HID mode... Not a cheap option but the best way to stream from Spotify without lag in my opinion.
hi! i’m having troubles with the mapping... seems like the software recognizes the ddj 200 but nothing is mapped... you think you can help? i’m a debutant, so i have no idea what is what or what i’m doing...
It’s a shame that this controller will no longer work with Spotify. Kind of defeats the whole purpose they want everybody to move over to Tidal. Bummer
@melted7136 a few companies are finally releasing studio headphones that are bluetooth and don't have latency issues, but this technology definitely suffers from the standard bluetooth lag. Beatmatching with bluetooth is not really an option on this rig.
