I liked this game. I didn't love it like I loved the original. It was annoying that every fight felt like a boss battle, no matter how much you leveled up. "I don't have time for your shit" is how I responded to almost every fight that wasn't in the original.
I had no real problems with any of the boss fights.

Just a thought... in all the cutscenes, Cloud is holding his sword/has it attached to his back, Tifa is wearing her gloves... but where is Aeriths staff? Where does she put that between battles?
Probably wherever Sephiroth puts his sword whenever not in a combat scene.

Note to devs, you don't have to make every battle into a boss battle with cinematics. At least we know why the characters spend 40 hours in Midgar.

This is so dark and shaky I can barely even tell what's happening
Not as frightening as the original. The color here is cliche and the scenes are just a fan-service to those who dont even appreciate the aristry that went into the original slums. I will give it this though: it felt like a better boss area than Sephiroth did in this remake.

A part of the game that was barely fifteen minutes in the original... This added absolutely nothing to the game.
I loved this section.
Irrc there were ghosts in this short area in the og ff7, this section in the remake just shows why they're there and also serves to show Aerith was sad and lonely growing up and had/has slight abandonment issues. I'm sure somewhere in the og is some book or text dump somewhere instead of a fully voiced cinematic that explains this. My only gripe for the remake is the whole timeline split and literal canon police that are the whispers. Oh, and that it's split into three full price AAA games that spans 2 and, quite possibly, 3 generations of consoles.

The game I played when I was a kid she was called Aeris.... why did they change her name on the remake?
Her name was never supposed to be “Aeris“it was a translation mistake that was never fixed her name was always supposed to be Aerith as a play on the word “Earth” signifying her connection to the planet
And it’s not just the remake every game with her in it from Kingdom Hearts to the movie and anime of FF7 calls her “Aerith”
