Can you imagine the feeling of being out for the day and coming home to your driveway perfectly resealed by these guys. I’d get a beer and a chair and stare at it till the sun went down.
Hopefully the HOA, if they have one, lets them park in the street. Seeing as they can't drive on the driveway for a few days. But, yeah, it is beautiful. I just hope it sticks well to those greasy/wet? spots.
This is one of the best videos you've made. I love watching all your videos. It's like watching an artist paint a picture. I find it very relaxing especially with the sounds of the puddles and the brush and the truck (and no music.) Up close is best as you can see what's going on so much better. 😊 Well done! 👏
Yup, and doing it right by brushing it in multiple directions to really work it into the asphalt. That will leave a much better coating/result than the crews you see just dragging it straight down the driveway in a single flood coat.
Hi watching from Australia 🇦🇺. I really enjoy your videos and love watching the seal coating for some reason. I bet it stinks to high heaven though hehe 😜. Thanks for sharing your work 👍🏼
I stumbled upon your videos recently by accident, and it's crazy how many times I've already re-watched them - what's the deal with that? I really appreciate the longer videos, keep up the good work!
I'd like to know how someone can say that is easy money. Lot of techniques, spending a lot of time, effort, everything to make a perfect job day by day. You rock bro, you have the gift to do that! ❣👍
True, there is some attention to detail and some skill involved, but it isn't exactly back breaking labor. So on the blue collar side of things, this is a fairly easy job, labor wise. The main down side of course is that it is weather dependent and fairly seasonal, so the income isn't exactly steady. So, you have to pace you expenditures accordingly to spread them out over the year, business wise, as well as personally. Maybe even take a side job in the off season.
I wanted him to move the hose because that area was so cramped for a few minutes. I know he was edging but I still wanted that hose out of the way. I get followed by 3 big dogs throughout my day, so maybe it's that feeling of not being able to organize and clean with 3 dogs jockeying for attention and treats and wanting to chase squirrels outside. Can I just get some housekeeping done, please? 🐈⬛🐕🦮 Beautiful job!! I can't wait to have my very own driveway that I can have sealed. It just better be this good.
My driveway is gravel, but these videos make me want an asphalt driveway, real bad. Wishing it was in my budget, but right now I am still looking for that post pandemic work position, so I don't really have a budget to squeeze it into as I have no income. We're getting by on the wife's less than $800 US per month SSI.
Watching you work I feel like that guy at every road-work site who is leaning on a shovel and watching. I have a couple questions if you could; at the end of the day do you have to purge the hose and wand of sealer? Or soak and clean your broom/squeegee?
Everything goes into a brush box. We only clean out at the end of the year. All seal tools remain submerged until it’s time to use them. We use 4 foot brushes.
It’s a cold, crappy day in Western Pennsylvania and I am in front of the wood burner watching this video. Thanks for warming my day. I have a torn muscle in my thigh and can’t do much as it heals. And….I won’t watch the NFL because of various factors. Even if it were an option, I would watch this. Also, please get a backpack blower - you won’t regret it. Buy a Stihl with the electric start. It’s the only one to get. I look forward to seeing you use it. 😏😀
Wow. That's weird. I grew up in Pennsylvania and when I saw your comment I thought, "huh, that comment must be from a while ago." No. Yesterday. Haha. Thanks for reminding me that it is currently cold back home in PA.
Any reason why you guys push the sealer instead of pulling it? Or is it just what works for you guys? We find pulling the sealcoat to take half the time, which also means we never have to walk in it. Love the content!
Hey I got a curious question for you in your videos the liquid that you put down is brown is that the color is going to stay or when it dries it becomes black is that rotard that you're putting down or what is it
Nice I do the exact same work out in north chicago suburds so happy it's the winter. It's a seasonal job here! Does anyone know what town this young man is sealing in?
He got those narrow parts by the garage with that big brush, but I think I'd have to keep a 3-4 inch brush handy for those smaller areas myself. I am starting to get a bit of a tremmor in my hands, and would rather cut in around "do not cover/touch" areas with a more controllable brush myself than risk "coloring outside the lines". But he's still young with a steady hand, so if this giant brush works for him, as it obviously does, more power to him. I only saw one place were the grass got painted pretty good.
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE last question.. I am in New England, looking for a solid sealer that will hold up as best as possible through all seasons. There are many out there, any in particular you would recommend?
Hi Sofia. I never listen to music when I seal. I need to listen to the compressor, make sure everything working properly and not leaking all over the road. I’m always singing song in my head though 🎤
Great video, would love to know how you price a driveway like this and if you require minimums for smaller jobs like this. I have recently jumped into seal coating and can't really find anything about it.
It's all priced by square footage. We have minimums unless they are getting a group rate. Sometime we'll do 10 smaller ones that are in walking distance too each other for a reduced rate. It's all about what you are comfortable with.
Great work!! I have been in the business for years, we do mostly commercial lots. Few questions. Where are you located? What material do you use, is it seal master? And last one why brush vs squeegee?
With drying possibly. You definitely need 48 hours of sun and ZERO % rain. At that time of the year (mid October) the high temperature was 75. We’re constantly checking the weather forecast.
How do you find these jobs?? Do you door knock, post ads, or??? I’d appreciate the advice. Also, what’s the initial investment for something like this? Thanks in advance, and awesome job!

The foot prints never fully disappeared tho as soon as it drys you’ll see them slightly idk why people walk through the sealer just makes a mess like toddlers play

I honestly think pushing in multiple directions is the best application method.
Also I sealed for 6 years and never wore a respirator witch now I wish I would a have. When do you use yours? Only for spraying? Or brush and spray?
Allergies, fumes

@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE last question.. I am in New England, looking for a solid sealer that will hold up as best as possible through all seasons. There are many out there, any in particular you would recommend?
When do you add the second coat? The same day, or after a few hours of it drying, or a different time?
1 coat for residential.
Do you guys use a coal tar or asphalt emulsion product? Do you put in additional additives?
It looks like this is a new, never sealed before driveway. Is there anything you do differently in this case? Does it require more product?
New or unsealed asphalt can sometimes take 2x the amount of material.
Au top big up depuis la France 🇫🇷 👍 👌 💪 😎

It`s pretty cool ! and I`m courios about the performance evaluation on these Tack Coat .
How long dose it take to creak or Deterioation
About 3-5 years
Dont know if you’ve answered this before, but do you listen to music or something like that when you’re working?

Hi Sofia. I never listen to music when I seal. I need to listen to the compressor, make sure everything working properly and not leaking all over the road. I’m always singing song in my head though 🎤
Is it possible to gravity feed the sealcoat out of a hose? From say a tank in the bed of a pickup truck through a 50 foot hose?
I didn’t know the physics of that. You can always gravity feed out of the tank into 5 gallon buckets 🪣, and pour from there.
Hello! So satisfying
Nice work! What's the ballpark price per square foot for labor?
Total price is around $0.20/square foot
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE I imagine your sealing product got more expensive along with the gas prices recently.

We're in Pennsylvania.
We fill up at an asphalt company.
I just feel brushing in multiple direction gives the best results.
Got annoyed that you wouldn’t back drag and were living footprints all over and over, but still loved the results at the end
There’s not a single footprint on that driveway. We smooth every single one out.
If only I owned a driveway, I would hire SCIL, every year! [And tip].
👍👍👍
Do you guys have to dispose the broom comb every day, or are they reusable?
Reusable. They go into a brush box filled with water. They wear out every two weeks or so.
How much does the sealcoat cost in the USA. Over here it's harder to get
I think the average price is around $3.50/gallon when buying wholesale.
Wouldn’t it be easier to just use a paint brush in those tight corners ?
I did that on the last video, it’s not that big of a difference. I like a challenge. 😎
Superb!
👋🏻👋🏻
What type of seal coat products and brand do you used?
AE
Wouldn't it be easier to get a small hand held tool for the little corners like at the top of that drive
For a beginner, yes definitely. I did that in my other video “The Eagle”.
Is this kind of sealer only good for asphalt driveways? or does it cover other types?
Asphalt only
