I have this pattern in my stash and I’m going to bring it to the front of the line! You’ve given me great inspiration to make it. I was concerned about the shirring , so thanks for all the tutorials-very helpful!
You look gorgeous! Great job. What a beautiful dress. I made an almost identical dress from a Vogue pattern but it had a solid piece for the back waist and it is assuredly NOT comfy . If I ever make it again I will definitely make the back shirred.
I made this dress after your last video in the same fabric you chose for your summer version. I think it is one of my favourite makes ever. I love wearing it and it makes me feel confident in myself for some reason! I have been wondering how it would work in a heavier fabric. The only problem I had was the hem. Any tips for hemming when you don’t have a helper available as there is quite a lot oh hem to try and get straight!
The dress is beautiful on you. The gathering in the back bodice look fine on you but I don't think, though I love the pattern, that so much gathering would look good on me. Is there a way I could reduce the bodice gathering? If so I will certainly buy this pattern. I must look to see how much fabric I would need for size 22. I have some fabric which would suit this dress beautifully and think I may well have enough! Edited to add that I was originally considering the Style Arc Philomena pattern but was completely put off by the side seam zip. Belle is a better option for me.
@lunasmum6869 I definitely think you could easily take out excess fabric in the back bodice for sure. Make a muslin (a mock dress from cheap fabric) using the original pattern to test out how much you’d need to take out and alter the pattern accordingly. Then, take out the same amount on your fashion fabric once you get it to fit the way you want. I hope that helps. Linda
Thank you, I always do a high round back and forward shoulder on any of my makes and I added a little bit of width at the waist yoke, although I don't think I needed it. You can see my tutorial for a high round back adjustment on our channel.
@@SewEssential Great, thank you! I've seen videos on how to do a high round back adjustment in general, but not demonstrated on a pattern where there's a back yoke. Do you have a video tutorial on that?
Hiya! This is such s lovely version. Do you think it's possible to make it maternity friendly? Might the waistline need to be raised a bit by shortening the waist panels? Or does it sit a little high anyway?
That is such a lovely dress - really enjoying your styling tips too, thank you Lucy.
Love this, love your videos and you look absolutely great in this x
So helpful and useful information and guidance. You look amazing too. Thank you
A beautiful, elegant dress. Designers know what they are doing when they choose a fabric.
Really lovely
What a lovely dress. Thank you for inspiring me, Lucy. I am tempted to copy you!...Grace
Thanks Grace - go for it, that's the highest form of flattery as far as I'm concerned!
It's gorgeous!!! 🤩 Really special.
The dress is absolutely beautiful Lucy. It's so helpful to see the dress made up and come to life, thank you!
Thank you Melanie, it's a pleasure, honestly one of my all time favourite patterns, just so clever and easy to wear through the seasons.
Vary lovely! Beautiful lines, great fabric choice! Nice ❤
Thanks Sandra, such kind words I really appreciate your lovely feedback

Thanks for another great video! I love the two dresses you made. I can also see this pattern cut into a blouse.
Thank you so much, yes good idea! Do tell us if you try it!
Gorgeous fabric! And another beautiful dress! That really is a great pattern!
That’s fabulous fabric! It made up such a gorgeous dress.
Thank you so much, I knew it would look good sewn up and am so happy with the end result. Thanks for watching and commenting.
That dress looks lovely on you. I'm trying to figure out if it will look good on me at 5'2"

Beautiful dress. What type of fabric did you use? I'd love to make this

Beautiful! Just wondering if you had to make any adjustments to the pattern?

Stunning Lucy. 😊 Congratulations on graduating. Would it be too nosey to ask what you’ve been studying?
Thank you Debbie and no, not at all, it was a business related course at Oxford University and was a wonderful experience.
@@SewEssential Well congratulations again. I hope you feel very proud of yourself. 👏👏👏x
