      Oh ok I'll bear that in mind, I made the Jalie hoody 3355 www.sewessential.co.uk/sweatshirt-hoodie-sweat-pants-jalie-pattern-3355, which I love, I also made the Sewaholic Fraser sweatshirt www.sewessential.co.uk/fraser-sweatshirt-sewaholic-pattern-1507, which is lovely too and I really want to try the Marlo cardigan www.sewessential.co.uk/true-bias-marlo-sweater-sewing-pattern-size-0-18 I know I've made loads of other jersey and knit patterns I'll have a think and see what I can come up with

    I don't keep good enough records of my makes to do a round up. I must improve that, as it would be interesting. I will make sure to do that next year.

    New Look 6696 was my favorite pattern to sew in 2022 also AND I too eliminated the back tie for the very same reason you mentioned!! Great job on all your beautiful makes and on the inspiring video!!!

    Wow! Fourteen garments along with two children and a business to look after. That's impressive.
    I love your favourite one too. The fabric and the style. I think if I worked among so many gorgeous fabrics I'd want to make them all. Thanks for this year's inspiration.

    I SO appreciate how you wear each garment and leave the pattern cover on the screen for a long time. That is just so helpful and it makes your videos easy to follow.

    My biggest challenge this year was a lined, tailored jacket! It was the Charlotte Emma Barberry jacket, which I don't think is on your website (she's an independent pattern designer with a small range currently). Excellent instructions (also included a sleeve head!). Made it twice, once to get it sorted, then again with a few modifications (deeper pockets, changed the lapels up a bit).
    Agree that it's a very satisfying thing to achieve.
    Next stretch project... jeans??

    • @SewEssential
      @SewEssential  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow that sounds amazing, great to tackle the lining too, did you bag it out? Such a satisfying method I hear. Go for it on the jeans front, I made the Ginger jeans a few years back and I LOVE them. You can see my video review here th-cam.com/video/odNwJVE7FNI/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=SewEssential and the pattern here www.sewessential.co.uk/ginger-skinny-jeans-closet-case-sewing-pattern-03 in case you're interested

    • @catherinerw1
      @catherinerw1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SewEssential this one you sew the lining to the facing around the top and front, then you sew it down to the bottom facing by hand, with pressing beforehand so you get a fold that forms in the lining, so it doesn’t pull the hem of the jacket up. I’ve bagged out waistcoats before though, that’s magic! I’ve gone for the Sew Me Something “Duchess” jeans, I’ve never made friends with commercial skinny jeans!

    I love your videos Lucy, and your lovely website has given me the confidence to buy fabric online, something I was always wary of as I love to feel the fabric before purchasing. My most challenging make of the year was a tailored jacket (Vogue 8333), the instructions for the couture version were really good. I also draughted a pattern from scratch and made jeans as I was getting so frustrated trying to find a good fit in ready made. Well worth the effort.

    • @SewEssential
      @SewEssential  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's brilliant to hear, wow drafting your own jeans and making a tailored jacket, now THAT is a good sewing year! Well done!

    It would be nice to see you work with lace. I am an experienced sewer but have noticed that new sewers avoid joins or just run them as a straight seam?
