semi-retired constaffer and congoer of 20+ years here with some advice. sleep is important, real food is important, also HYDRATE, however much water you think is enough during a con, it is not. Talking takes it out of you, walking takes it out of you, and the indoor air itself will dry you out, making you exhausted faster and not realizing a lot of it is dehydration. With fall and winter cons especially you'll fool yourself thinking if its cold outside it won't be that bad inside but no, all that body heat in the building can get it surprisingly warm surprisingly fast especially in smaller panel rooms. easy to carry snacks and a refillable unbreakable bottle are good ideas as well. venue food sources can be overpriced, of questionable quality, and/or have ridiculous lines as well, so looking up local places in walking distance beforehand is suggested just in case. Also, even in the before-times, con crud aka conplague was and still is a thing, a mysterious and vile cocktail of whatever random ails people drag in with them exacerbated by air conditioning and enclosed space, so take care of yourself and hope ya have fun!

I *Love* the first interaction you had with someone noticing you. Pretty much in 99% of the opportunities, I would be like them, Saying hi but letting you be on your way, being over respectful of your space and such, so it was lovely you asked first if they wanted a pic.
This is why i miss going to Cons - though if you ever can i REALLY recommend DragonCon - and for gaming i recommend GenCon (though that's moved to Indianapolis, I'm not sure that's in your range, unlike Dragon which is in Atlanta and is a _little_ bit closer...) But gods that looked like it was an amazing Con! Glad you had fun and got to be the entertained for once!

The nerd in me had hoped for a "Evo Moment #37" at 4:37 ^^ Also the Artoo unit at 2:09 is FANTASTIC! 5 Years in the making? That's insane but the result is incredible. And totally love the Frieren costume at 8:44. She's really cute.

I'm curious: you said it's Aluminium on the outside with a (wooden?) frame on the inside. How much does this thing weight? And how long does the battery last?
@@Pendragon667 yup its fairly heavy at least 200lbs the steel feet themselves weigh about 50 lbs the battery lasts about 16 hours of heavy use its a 24W30V battery and i use ryobi 18V batteries as rescue batteries they last about 2 hours or long enough to get me back to a place i can charge him

Oh my goodness - I legitimately do not recognize Jacques without his drawn on French mustache, lol! I saw this man live on stage dozens of times, every summer for 5-6 years at the NJ Renaissance Faire and have hung out with him in the back 40, and I literally do not recognize this man outside of costume! I can't believe this is Jacques!
I've always entertained thee idea of putting together a full mandalorian cosplay and attending a comic con, but have never had the funds or time to do so... Maybe one of these days I'll be able to do that. I remember falling in love with the whole warrior culture and the armor from the original star wars movies, and some fan-made (I think) lore on a random website-that I have since been unable to ever find again-about ancient mandalorians and different styles of armor, from the light scout variant that was made famous by Boba and Jango Fett, to more heavy variants more reminiscent of a Heavy Dark Trooper.
First time? You have to come to more. I keep missing Renn Faires and SCA events because I'm at a convention. I wish I had known you were there, I was mostly stuck down in the Writer's Block.
I did baltimore comic con in september it was fun but I def feel what you mean about being overwhelmed I did my first cosplay this year and couldnt even make it to day 3
