yes.. simon may not have buzzed him if he had done the singing, but maybe they couldn't get copyright clearance, although he changes the lyrics so they should have been fine.
@@9melissal You are right, and wrong. On most shows, just like when showing a brand name product like a Pepsi cola, a fee must be paid for use of said song/lyrics/product. Covers ARE included in that rule. A show such as this will also be required to cover that licencing as well. It is also possible that Jack deliberately chose NOT to sing to avoid the issue. I have over 30 years in the film industry as we as being a writer, and believe me using even a tiny excerpt of a song costs a LOT of money.
That's a beautiful moment right there, how many times has anyone seen Simon in this state and taken back an X? You can tell from the other judges it's a rarity. I know Jack was terrified but he should be so damned proud of himself for that.
And boy, did this work. His shows are packed now. He deserves all of the praise, he is SO much fun!! He does improv songs using his whips as percussion instruments!
And in reality that whip crack is very feint. but as the tip is going faster than the speed of sound so it creates a vacum in the air behind it. when the air gets back to fill in that same vacum, that is when you hear that loud snap.
I don't even understand why he did that. Was it just some weird reflex he gets cuz it's not the first time he's embarrassed himself with his quick judgement.
Do you know, this is the only time I have seen him performing other than simply cracking a whip as a beat to tunes that he rewords with his own lyrics. I was beginning to think that was his entire act. This is the performance I've been looking for.
I have seen his friend Arron Bonk at the Renn Faire several times, those whips are loud and i can only imagine how much louder they are in an auditorium designed to direct the sound during the audience.
We all know this show is staged, so I'm convinced Simon presses the buzzer for dramatic effect because he knows when an act is going through. He does it because it means the person has a chance to pull out a "jaw dropping" trick or something similar and he always removes the x. Jack is very talented, so there is no way Simon buzzed because he didn't see it.
Finally someone said it. I was thinking about that the whole time. No way they're gonna let everything happen randomly. Way too expensive to run that show.
I’ve never loved a performance on America’s got talent this much! The Simon part was good too, finally he was scared. (As a directioner I was the quietest in my entire life as Jack said “give it up for Simon”)
I don't know what is more cryngy when jack placed the stick between Simon's legs or the possibility of the whip hitting a little higher...but i do know one everyone at home collectively held their nether regions in fear and laughter as simon squatted in fear for his family jewels
The more impressive part of his act is knowing pretty much any song and modifying it to whipping. Like when someone tossed out One Winged Angel from FF7 and he was all "Jokes on you, that's my favorite " and then sang it.
How were Jack the Whipper and Adam Winrich auditioning their whip-cracking acts on the very same day? I love both of them, but I'm surprised that the producers wouldn't, like, try to spread those similar acts out, more? They're both so great; they shouldn't be competing against each other. Anyway, seems like the judges liked both of them enough to vote them forward...
Oh! I didn’t know he had been on AGT! 🤣 TH-cam had been showing me his videos for ages lol. Now I get it. Honestly, watching Simon in that position was worth it. 😂
TBH, I think Jack the Whipper is a great act, but he has to have interaction with a smaller audience. His charisma and interaction with the audience is what makes his act something special. On a stage like AGT it's just a guy cracking a whip, which isn't to say he isn't skilled. He does stuff I couldn't do. But it loses a lot of what his act is.
I had no idea he was on AGT. I just knew he was this quirky, brightly dressed guy with whips that showed up on my tiktok and youtube feed one day and I followed and never looked back. ❤
The performance is definitely different without the (by-his-own-admission) drawn-on mustache and the more French approach, but it was still good. But what I don't understand about the show itself is WHY they insist on cutting away from the act and showing the judges, the audience, or somebody (whoever it is; I've seen different people in different videos) off-stage. It ruins the overall show for me. Show me audience/judge reaction AFTER the action STOPS, not while it's ongoing! I don't want to miss the action to see how people react; I want to have my own reaction!
I had no idea he was on this show!!! I only know him from Ren Fest shows. Good for you man! Also Simon kinda deserved that 😂and after the stunt he was like, "I take it all back. I'm glad i didn't die. "
