    I ride a '22 Beta 300RR Race Edition, which is an amazing single track woods weapon, so I wouldn't exactly say that I am jealous of you're YZ250X, but I do very much respect and admire your machine and I could definitely see myself owning one. I am very much jealous of the trail you have there. It looks like a blast to ride and you were killing it. It was a fun video to watch.

    I don't care what everybody else does. I got a bike again after 18 years off, (a 2019 YZ250 2-stroke. I rode for over 2 decades and raced MX for a decade from 74-2000), and at 5'9" could not stand how tall my YZ was, or the forward bars everybody uses today. I lowered my suspension .75" and the seat 1", and rotated my bars back (#2 instead of 0 pointing up on the pro tapers), and man, can I corner so much better with the old school set up. I also set the rear sag at 95-97mm, (full suspension I would be closer to 100mm), instead of the 105mm plus that people use to offset their more forward riding position. You can tell me I am old school if you want,---but I have never seen so many people so slow in the corners as we are today. The bars went forward when freestyle got big, and everybody followed. The more forward riding style and high bars are good for freestyle tricks, and probably SX rhythm sections, but they stink in comparison everywhere else. Just trying to help. Doug in Michigan

      Definitely invest in a lectron carb, i always had problems finding the perfect jetting. lectron carb fixed everything, all I had to do was richen the needle a tad. I got the classic one, not the billitron. Other than that, its got a bigger sprocket and a heavier flywheel.

      @@PNWSingleTrack If you ever get an after market pipe for more low end power, the FMF Gnarly makes more low end power than the Pro Circuit Platinum 2 pipe, (I have them both). You can also go for a 2011 head (or 2010, not sure when Yamaha lowered the compression for the YZ), from the YZ250, and gain more compression for a better power across the curve, and still be able to use 93 octane pump gas.

    Does your bike in neutral at idle with clutch out can you hear the clutch and gears and if you pull in the clutch does the noise stop.?

    • @PNWSingleTrack
      @PNWSingleTrack  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My brother has a yz250fx and his bike does that, and my dads wr250 also does, I haven't noticed it on mine though. Apparently, it's normal for there to be a bit of sound. Also noticed the clutch likes to bite a bit with the clutch fully in and with slight throttle. (all 3 bikes do it) Idk if that answered ur question

      @@PNWSingleTrack My 2019 YZ250 stroke does not make that noise, (and neither has any MX bike I have had.) As for your clutch dragging, what is the viscosity of the oil you are using? No dragging with mine using 10w40.

      @brandonconard2682 I'm looking at getting one, I read that the clutch basket was made poorly since 2018 because of change of manufacturer I guess. One guy I saw on TH-cam had his basket grenade. It lost a finger and he had to do a full rebuild to get the metal out. No serious damage. But if I got one I would consider upgrading from the factory clutch basket.

    • @PNWSingleTrack

      Around 50 miles. But haven't really gotten it to reserve levels because I usually bring a little bottle of fuel I put in around half a tank for a little extra range. 50 miles is the farthest I've gone.
