So the lectron carb helped with the low rpm riding? Would this be possible with the stock carb? Better fuel economy too?
it helped a little bit with the low rpm riding, it was mainly so I didn't have to jet it every other week depending on where I was gonna ride. It helped with fuel mileage and gave it some low-end luggability.
The best trail bike is the one you’re on at the time.
i 100% agree, the best bike is the bike you're riding! As long as you're riding that's all that matters.
Garcia Anthony Perez Jeffrey Wilson Charles
They should come stock with a headlight
Or at least an electric start!
ahhh..NO its not

My 81 xr200r was faster than this
Thats great to hear Dustin!
I own a 2024 Beta 200rr, ride in Medicine Bow NF in Wyoming. A fun bike to ride, I don't need a lot of power at 58 years old. Jonny Walker I am not. Haha.
A beta 200/300rr is my dream bike, they look insane!
I just bought a Beta Xtrainer. Honestly in my opinion best trail bike I have ever owned.
@@stickfigure9138 those are great bikes
Nice video bro. A few months ago, I purchased a 2024 YZ250 not the x version and I'm loving it. I will most likely do a few modes for single track however when I had my 01 CR250 back in 01 I rode track and desert which is a lot like single track without the trees lol. keep up the videos. People are watching.
Thank you! Im happy for you, the new Yamahas look amazing! Appreciate the kind words!
I feel like I’m watching myself ride 😂😂 the struggle is real dude!!
i ride single track a lot, so when it gets kinda technical like this I struggle.
Bike looks so nice bro I just started uploading my riding and got some inspiration off you !!! Definelty give ya a sub ❤
@@Kiitcho I appreciate it a lot!
My bicycle is better than yours, lol
☹
Are you riding an X ? If so, what's your setup / mods ? 🤙
gytr flywheel weight, bigger rear sprocket (forget the number of teeth) lectron smart carb (legacy one I believe) recently got the Apex head with the XC dome ( best mod I've done so far ) Last week just got Tubliss 2.0 for the rear wheel and a bigger gas tank (haven't riden with those last two yet) also I've got the V Force Reed 3's. Looking to get the Power valve mod done soon.
I have a 2020 300 xcw that's set up really well, love that bike. But I got a killer deal on a new 23 250x, waiting for delivery. I ordered some parts for it, hitlis, apex xc dome, JD kit, 40 pj, 11 oz fww, 13t front sprocket, Evans and some protection items. I have a r tubliss and a tt. Try to make it a simple fun 2nd woods bike.
@@davenawahine4428 Sounds like a sweet setup!

KDX is the single track king. I’ve nerver found anything that matches them. Rock solid clutch great power delivery and two stroke.
Those bikes are definitely legends. They are so sick!
🎉 me la presta bro 😊
Thats a lot of work.
yeah it was, made a lot of mistakes.
I have the same bike but yours seems so much smoother at low rpm lugging around mines more twitchy what did you do to it
Apex cylinder head and lectron carburetor help give it more luggable and linear power. Also a gytr flywheel weight if you don't already.
Nah. The 2025 Ktm xcw. That’s the bike. Not that !! 😂
@@Anthonyhancock71 id hope it'd be a better bike for 2x the cost
@@PNWSingleTrack yes sir. When your credit is good. Get the best. ! Worry about it later. 🤣
@@Anthonyhancock71 that it true. They look like great bikes
I smoke them on my X all day... It's always the rider in the woods never the bike but the YZ got it right back in 06....
@@PA-Tammy yep you right 👍. Rider forsure. But after 50 I need all the help I can get. 😆

I ride places like Georgetown, Forest Hill , Stonyford, Penny Pines clear Creek
For what it is worth, people whom comment negatively on your riding just to put you down with zero positive motivation fall under one 🎉or all of the following: A. Have never ridden a trail like this B. Do not understand that action cameras make everything look SIGNIFICANTLY less dramatic. Hills are flattened, riding speed appearance varies by camera settings, obstacles sizes do not look as aggressive C. When I was young and a showoff, my Dad told me "Son, if you are good, everyone will know you're good. You dont have to prove it"....just saying D. Are trolling You are clearly a good rider and handle technical trails better than most people. Ride your own ride and keep rolling strong!
Nice place
2024 KTM 250 XCW is better
For sure, if you want to spend 10k on a bike.
@@PNWSingleTrack $11k. lol. yeah they are not cheap but I love mine. Road a yz250 and the XCW is much better.
I’m in northern Idaho. In hours, how far away is this trail from me haha
Suzuki DR200 rules them all!
Lol
That bike was too twitchy for me, I would have to add a stabilizer on it to see if it would tame it a bit. I abuse the clutches on bikes and felt it was a little tiring at the end of the day. I certainly missed the magic button on it as well. Regardless, it was an amazing bike.
@@onthethrottle7104 lacking the magic button is the only downside for me. The clutches in these bikes are invincible haha. I abuse the clutch and I'm still on the OEM clutch at 110 hours
@@PNWSingleTrack KTM is the clear winner, pay once, cry once
@@777goncharovv debatable.
What exhaust is this? I’m looking to get a 2 stroke but they’re just too loud for me and this is nice. A deeper rumble is what I’m looking for. 🤙🏻

@@PNWSingleTrack what apex head are you running?
Looks like a great place to ride
Where are you riding
I expected a bear to be standing there
Great video dude. Trail looks super fun. I ride the yz125x and it is cool to hear the big brother lugging and screaming around the woods too.👍
Thanks for watching! I've been wanting to try a 125x and see how they ride, I hear they're great bikes also!
@PNWSingleTrack they don't have the bottom end of the 250 I am sure, but if you can ride it faster, shift more and clutch it more they are a ton of fun. I use mine as a practice training bike and it makes you work hard.👍 The 250x sounds grunty and smooth.
@@Randy_Cox With the Apex Cylinder Head it makes the bike SUPER luggable.
@@PNWSingleTracki run the 2021 250x with flex bars 11oz fww Excel wheels apex head Vforce3 reeds and some other goodies. To me bike sounds just a smidge rich but otherwise your bikes running good great video
@@cliffordmcgraw8740 I have the GYTR flywheel weight, i think it's 9oz (could be wrong) might jump up to a 11oz. It is running a bit on the rich side. I'm just bad at tuning that sort of thing. Id rather it run a tad rich anyways. Its got the lectron carb, so even with it rich its not that bad.
Did you have to re-jet carb after putting apex head on? Stock pipe? What jetting do you have in?
Its a lectron smart carb, and yea its a stock pipe! thanks for the watch, lemme know if you have anymore questions
wrong yz125 is the best
Never had the chance to ride one, Ive always wanted to try the 125x!
Bruh….
I hated this bike. Probably worst bike i have rode in a long time. Power was so horrible. I tried to ring it out and it had nothing. What it did have was so short it was unusable.
To each their own, a lot of people and I love these bikes. And at the end of the day its great to just ride whatever you like and enjoy the sport.
Dude, your slow as shit, you shouldn't talk much
If you like to ring it out you should’ve got the regular yz250
Or actually tuned it for your riding style instead of just leaving ungrateful comments about it
@rip2727 what’s your pick?
1st!
where are the bodies
Would love to know what trail this is to add to my bucket list for someday. Absolutely beautiful flow. Do you have a lectron or smartcarb on yours? I run stock carb with Suzuki needles, apex head and love it
This is in eastern washington unsure of the trail name, and yea its the lectron carb and I'm loving it. The apex head also was a great addon too, just got it 2 rides ago!
@@PNWSingleTrack which insert did you get for the apex head, xc, mx or sx? I’m guessing xc based on how your bike sounds (that’s what I have)
@@jaredhampsey2855 Its the XC dome
I had really bad arm pump for some reason this entire ride, I think it was the added weight from the new gas tank
lol, ok
@@AnonYoukno 👍
110% constructive and not being a d1ck: to me your front end looked very rigid and choppy on a flowy (amazing) trail. Could have been you fighting it a bit and exaggerated by the heavier tank? Hard to tell just with video though, so I could be over reading things.
Flex bars will help with that
Wouldnt get that on a KTM, you know cos they've had counterbalanced engines for like 10 years 😂
Curious what your setup is on your bike. I've been running a YZ250X for 4 years and have tried lots of things and know what works and what doesn't. I should probably do a video on it someday.
gytr flywheel weight, bigger rear sprocket (forget the number of teeth) lectron smart carb (legacy one I believe) recently got the Apex head with the XC dome ( best mod I've done so far ) Last week just got Tubliss 2.0 for the rear wheel and a bigger gas tank (haven't riden with those last two yet) also I've got the V Force Reed 3's. Looking to get the Power valve mod done soon.
@@PNWSingleTrack I went to a 13 sprocket on the front, Hitlis power valve system, gytr flywheel, and the head cut down to match the MX model head. Had the Apex and didn't like it. Not enough power. Also had a Lectron and didn't like it. Neutered the power. I'm on the stock Keihin with a 40 powerjet. So pretty much stock except for the Hitlis.
Yamaha great bike !! Very underrated because gota kick it !
Clark Sarah Rodriguez Shirley Jones Maria
what do you do if you stall out on those rocks and gotta kick start. I want a 250x i just wish they had electric start for stuff like that.
@@SrpskiLove I kick it. But it does teach you to learn clutch control a lot quicker. You can get an electric start kit. Sadly its like 1200$
Recluse clutch is the next best thing available.
What do you think of the xc dome does it make it too mellow?
@@brianmurray5696 it's the best mod I've done, and I've done it all. It makes the power so linear.
Does the XC head improve that tractability and lugging in really slow situations? Like preventing wheel spin and being able to just chug up some slow tech stuff where your RPM is always low
@@notoriusmuskle1912 yes 100% and it also helps you get into the power easier, its super linear power.
Are you running the stock flywheel or the heavier gytr flywheel?
I believe it's a 9oz gytr flywheel weight
Bike is waaaaaaaay too big for you.Try a 50 get good .Move to an 80,get better.Move to a 125 get awesome.Graduate to a 250 and rip it up.What you are doing is wrong.A 250 is no joke.Unfortunately your riding skills are.
Unfortunately, the bike IS too big for me, I'm short. But definitely not lacking any skills. You might belong on a 50 if you can ride it without the suspension snapping in two, or your beer belly blocking the handlebars. Good try though!
