this has just really helped me. I am studying for atpl. I feel like more videos like this should be made for some basic concepts that we need to pass these exams. well done great video
Greatly explained, will definitely help with maturita exam. Why electrotechnicians are required to know everything about plane navigation is beyond me tho...
The marker beacons are pretty much toast now. What it means is that you are assumed to have a GPS to give you situational awareness while flying the ILS.
Good presentation. I would only suggest that the use of blue and yellow colours on the presentation be inverted as historically blue represents 150Hz dominance (fly left/up) and yellow represents 90 Hz dominance (fly right/down). The shading also represents the darker colour - blue.
can you explain why does the modulation depth of LOC equal 20% while the modulation depth of GP equals 40%? what's the difference? why does the modulation depth of GP not equal 20%?
The reason for different depths of modulation for localizer (20%) and glideslope (40%) would appear to be historical: I could not find a modern reference (or person) who could provide an answer as to why they are different.
A language friendly and easy video to watch and study! Thanks a lot!!

@Emiliano Johan How is that related to anything ?
Great video. All other videos I've found require previous knowledge. Anybody could understand this.
Thanks. Would love to see how this works in a glass cockpit. There is so much I don't understand about landings, but would love to learn.
Thank you so much.. was astoundingly elucidated :)

The use of DME co-located with the Glide Slope transmitter replaces the marker beacon.
Very informative video
Thank you for this! It was very informative for a beginner like me.
The video is distorted on my computer but not on my tablet. Other videos from TH-cam are not distorted on this computer.
Very odd -- I record everything the same way, so maybe a TH-cam transcoding issue?
Great video!!
Awesome video thank you!
Thanks!
Thank you!
Thanks for this helpful explanation
what about DME system = marker sys
I'm actually planning a video on DME sometime ... just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Thank you for your feedback Michael!
