I don't know why someone would tell her that. With few exceptions, productions have always needed female actors of all ages. Just look at Anne Hathaway's former co-star (in The Devil Wears Prada) Meryl Streep. She has had multiple roles in every decade since the '70s and is still getting roles to this day.
True, but they're not roles devoted to how attractive she is. That's what the person was referring to. While what Anne was saying about "roles opening up" was false from the start because of people like Streep. It's all a silly mindset. I don't think anyone was saying she wouldn't get any work after a certain point. It's that the majority will be before that time, if she's being chosen for her attractiveness. But both Streep and Hathaway have proven to have actual talent in acting and there's always roles for that, that are not based on attraction. I mean the very movie she's selling here is literally about her age.
Yes, but not too many lead roles. After 35 there aren’t so many protagonist roles, but moms and bosses. Of course there are examples of great roles after the age of 30, but they are rare compared to male roles
Women that are real KNOW this is the world. Women who know themselves ❤ turning 40 and older. For me, im so much more comfortable. Scary at times, but thats life.
I feel the same. I'm so sacred turning 40! I'm in my late 30s and I'm freakin out! I gotta enjoy these last upcoming few years of being in my 30s but I'm so scared. I hope my 40s are wonderful years.

The casting of the daughter is supposed to be a 16 year old. The hired actress is 25 years old and it shows. They should have casted someone younger. Bad casting.
It is something when people are looking for work and they shouldn't worry they would hire someone younger for a role they is more appropriate for their age. For instance. They hired a 32 year old actress in the 60s to play a mom of a three. Which didn't make much sense. They could have hired a woman in her 40s instead. Instead of implying the mother got married at maybe 18,19 and had a baby at 20. The Brandy Bunch. Many shows used to be like this. And movies. They picked 35 and younger actresses for everything. It's getting better though. No more aging young women and just picking an older woman instead.

Ma'am, literally the movie you're doing right now, that youre currently shilling for in this video, is all about how old you are.... Because the concept exists. Thats not to say you're not still attractive, but it's not Catwoman. Because youre older now. Thats not the roles "opening up". There was ALWAYS roles for older women. Theyre just going to be naturally less and less about how attractive you are as you get older. This isn't a difficult concept. And yes your "shelf life"/"sell by date" has expired. Again, not to say youre not attractive anymore, just that youre now in the category oooof attractive older woman. Youre a milf+/cougar whatever you want to label it. You can still get leading roles because youre one of the biggest names in Hollywood, but probably not about how attractive you unless the plot is literally about your age too. Like thiiiiiss movie.
