DC CFAR Women and HIV and SGM SIGs Virtual Seminar - National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

The Women and HIV SIG and Sexual and Gender Minorities SIG held a collaborative virtual seminar in honor of National Women and Girls' HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. The event focused on HIV prevention for transgender women and featured presentations from Dr. Mimi Ghosh and Dr. Ana María del Río-González.
Dr. Ghosh's presentation was entitled "Biological mechanisms of HIV risk in transgender women". Dr. del Río-González's presentation was entitled "An Intersectionality-informed Understanding of HIV prevention among Latina Immigrant Transgender Women in the DC Metropolitan Area." The talks were followed by a response by CPC member, Tessa Jelani and a discussion with participants.
