Improve your English listening and pronunciation skills with a short story from a native speaker with a British accent! In today's video, I will be reading a thrilling short story called 'The Escaped Man', so you can listen to the British accent, and improve your English listening skills. I will then reread the story, and analyse key parts to help further improve your understanding of the grammar and vocabulary. This is perfect preparation for the IELTS Listening exam, or general English Listening and Reading Practice!

A bunch of thanks from Azerbaijan🇦🇿 for an amazing story and excellent reading 🌸 İn our language we use for such a situation: "Insani geyiminə görə qarşılayıb, ağlına görə yola salarlar."
Literally it is translated like this: "A person is welcome according to his clothes, is sent away according to his mind"
Love it

Sir, could you suggest us some English books to read and how many hours we do practice of these four skills?
1. Listening 🎧
2.Speaking
3.Reading
4.Writing
I learned a lot of British expressions from this story. Based on criminal statistics ex-criminals might work in a taxi as a driver so that a society can’t allow these guys to a higher position at work. For me, it is so sad that a passenger was killed and it was his last trip in this life. 😢🥷🏻
Thanks for your videos, Dylan! Your accent is RP, isn't? I love it.
Thanks 😅 and yes I guess so!
You read very very beautiful 👍
Thanks 😅

Nice
I like listening to scary stories, reading horror stories, and watching horror movies because they don't make me sleepy.
Thanks to Mr. Dylan and the writer of the story, Lisa. That's a good story.
In Ukraine we have an idiom “don’t judge a person by her/his clothes” but the meaning is the same.
No way !! 😮 From the very first I was thinking the hitcher was the excaped man , the serial killer, but Lisa surprised actually shocked us 💔 by the unexpected ending!! It turned out that the driver was the killer , it's really a mind blowing story , I really enjoyed it, by the way, I'm Sabrina from Algeria 😊
Thank you Sabrina 💙🇩🇿
@@britisheducation my pleasure 🤗 again 😆

What?! Isn't the butler a murderer? No way! By the way, as for the idiom, we use it with a literal translation - Не суди книгу по обложке. And for example, "Bury your head in the sand" or "hold your horses" too.
Oh I see! Thanks for watching as always Olya, and for the Russian translations of course 🙏
02:39 ohhh nooo It's me damn it!!
