Almost all the American fighter planes are really strong (borderline OP if you ask me) in ground forces. F6F, F4U, P47, P51 and F8F carry better ordinance than any of their German or Russian counterparts, and after dropping it they also dominate the skies due to their under tiering

8:40 Unfortunately, the M-24's gun is a lot slower than the gun on the Sherman. 13:16 I enjoyed playing the Tiger back when its armor actually stopped shells. Now it gets in matches with IS-2's and other crazy shit that has no problems annihilating it at any range, no matter how well you angle your armor. It's funny to think the matchmaking for ground forces used to make more sense

Considering that it often goes against American tanks that have half the armor and far less powered guns, I believe the matchmaking is fair. And before you blabber about how it faced off against shermans in WWII, most shermans (m4, m4 105, etc) were infantry support tanks, made to aid the advance of troops and counter enemy soldiers. A sherman is more comparable to a tankette or a kv-2 than a tank-vs-tank platform like the tiger. The things that were intended to go tank-vs-tank in the US army were the m18 tank destroyers, m36s, and m26s, which the tiger currently frequently goes up against in WT. I do concur that the is-2 should be moved up since it has both better frontal armor with a better slope and a better gun.
If you have enough GE for it, I HIGHLY recommend the cannon-Chaika. it is so much fun to fly out. It's exactly as Squire described. People do see you as bait. The best is to take it to high altitude and surprise the hell out of bombers and fighters alike.

The bf-110 is great fun too, and let's not forget the f4u-1c, the speed of the corsair with 4 cannons and stealth rounds just destroys everything, I've killed several 9.0 BR jets with the beauty, it just doesn't get old.
Howdy. I served the Squidonian Empire an' all that. 'Fraid there ain't much common 'tween our favorites, though. Mine'd be (and in no real order, save about the top three): 10) He-112 B-0, the plane in which I truly learned to fly RB, along with the honorable mentions of the P-36G and the Spitfire Mk IIb. However, this makes the list because the role it played was much more intense. 9) Ar-2, a very recent addition, but one I love nonetheless. Great bomb load for its level, dives like stink, and turns like a UFO. The guns are a bit shit, but all the same. 8) KV-1 ZiS-5, a very crap tank that still takes a very dear place in my heart. The turret may be awful, but the hull and gun are so nice. 7) Junkers Ju-87 Stuka, for many of the same reasons we both like the Grace. Though, the supplementary cannons kinda kill the planes advantages, as nice as they are to have. 6) Bf 109 G-2, because it makes doing something very dirty feel very good. 5) P-51D-5 Mustang, though I'm absolute shit at flying it. 4) Aichi B7A2 Ryusei/Grace, just a lovely table-turning bomber & attacker. 3) Tiger 1H, same reasons as you listed. 2) M6A1 Heavy Tank. 960 bhp engine. Two main guns. 'Merica, 'nuff said. 1) P-39 N-0 (Pokryshkin) Airacobra, that thing is one mean machine. Potent-as-hell gun, good acceleration, and acceptable maneuverability.
I talked to a P47 pilot and he told me he and his wingman were flying up a valley and took AA fire and he dove straight into the fire and destroyed the gun position, this same thing happened three more times. he said sometime the gun crews ran and sometimes they died at their post, but on the last time he tried it, at round hit him in the propeller went through the windscreen and hit him between the eyes and glanced off. his wingman talked him home via the radio because he could not see for all the blood.

It sounds like "The Duck" and the A-10 Warthog share a common vein in that they are both asthetically ugly yet from an offensive standpoint, absolutely beautiful at killing tanks.
BlackBunik no argument here! The A-10 to this day remains one of my absolute favorite war-birds of all time - Heck, I even put the Warthog above the admittedly sleeker-looking and much more popular F14 Tomcat.
+izonker Love the F-14, I love the Sukhois based on SU-27 as well (even the duckling). F/A-18 Superhornet is pretty sick too. My all time favourite is however the F-15E Strike Eagle. Love the design, it's performance and versatility.
BlackBunik All of those are some sweet birds to be sure, I was always a big fan of the Strike Eagle as well, with the Mig-25 Foxbat, and Me-262 holding spots as well. I would also be remiss if I left out the SR-71 Blackbird, which for me is one of those jets that just looks like what an artist would draw if asked to express the embodiment of speed itself. It looks fast just sitting there on the tarmac.
+izonker Oh the SR-71... A wonderful piece of design and technology. I definitely recommend seeing it IRL in one of the museums. The massive engines are powerful as hell. I will never have the chance to see it lift off, but after seeing Avro Vulcan flying above my head I felt the power in the air. It was magnificent. SR-71 must be even more awesome.
I love the Chaika, its best plane honestly. I started on Soviet line and picked it. I never regretted my decision,I have rockets and everything maxed. I'm just bad at aiming, great at run and gun.
6:50 I think falling in love with something during a grind is just an illusion. I was grinding through the M3 Lee to get an M4 Sherman. Most of the time, I was a slow, sitting duck, that'd be lucky to get a single enemy kill. It was only toward the end of the grind that I was carrying my team with the M3, and having a grand time with it. Hell, I remember one time I was coming down a steep incline and shot an enemy knocking him out. As I was reaching the bottom of the incline, another enemy took out my tracks, sending me spinning in his direction and lining up the now reloaded cannon with the weak side armor of the enemy light tank. So I'm familiar with getting good with under achieving or less desired vehicles, but I think that love is an illusion, given how much you hated such vehicles at the start.
A little fact about the P 47. Late in the war they were fitted with “paddle blade props” with these installed they could out dive every other fighter in combat. However when they met the Messerschmitt 262 jets. One American pilot ( I don’t know his name) was quoted as saying These things were climbing faster than were diving --- true story

The J1N1 is a low tier favorite of mine. It's a heavy fighter that can ground strike and boom and zoom well, plus it has as much firepower in its rear turret as many planes at its tier have at their front. You'll still be facing bi planes and it has double the fire power in its turret compared to most bi planes and it _shreds_ them if they try to chase you when you boom and zoom or ground strike. Plus many people assume heavy fighters are slowly and unwieldy or they mistake you for a bomber, but since its japanese it actually handles pretty well.
I can only understand your love for the Avro Lancaster, I live in a small French town in France called Elancourt in which during WWII a crew and their plane were shot down and crashed while protecting the country. They were recently recognized as heroes and a memorial was built in their honor
A bit of history you may or may not find interesting. After the end of WWII, the Air Force went to republic aircraft and said, “We want a jet-powered P-47!” They knew the F-86 would be their thoroughbred fighter so they wanted that rough, tough, heavy-hitting "P-47 role" as well-- just much faster. The F-84 was the result. I enjoy how you put both father and son and your top 10! ;)
Squire ... top notch report there, truly spiffing. By George you could join my squadron - except I'm not in one - but it's the thought that counts. My worst aircraft is the Komet ... it looks like a lozenge and is good for attaining height fast but its one second limit to ammo is somewhat restrictive so if you don't hit your target as you whizz by it at a hundred thousand miles an hour, you all be in Lapland by the time you've radioed base to ask them to make a nice cup of tea. I like the way the engine catches fire if you use it too much, that was probably a fuel saving incentive by the Luftwaffle. Anyway, great work, carry on and keep calm.
I've only really played America and German, but the Chaffe was a tank I loved. I hung onto it for a long time, sadly parting with it for the M18 GMC - which is awesome itself (it kills Tigers from the side, something my heavy tank can't do). American light tanks are the best.
I really enjoy He 112 I got most kills in this aircraft my second fav is Ju 87 ... well not great airplane but I love the shape and that whisle when dive bombing

The Hs 129 is a lot better in the game than it was in actual combat service. The plane was seriously underpowered because the Germans went with old stockpiled French-made bomber radials for the power plants. (The Me 323 mounted six of the bloody things). Not only were they feeble, they tended to break down if you coughed loudly near them, and even with filters they had absolutely no tolerance for dust or mud. The two substances they got splashed with non stop in North Africa and Russia.

I would but it's impossible for that lunk to get up to bomber altitude. If the enemy doesn't bother to climb though then it's rather satisfying.
The P-47 is the best for ground forces, had a bunch of kills with that thing (it was the perfect successor for my previous plane, the Hellcat)

BlackBunik All of those are some sweet birds to be sure, I was always a big fan of the Strike Eagle as well, with the Mig-25 Foxbat, and Me-262 holding spots as well. I would also be remiss if I left out the SR-71 Blackbird, which for me is one of those jets that just looks like what an artist would draw if asked to express the embodiment of speed itself. It looks fast just sitting there on the tarmac.

The massive engines are powerful as hell. I will never have the chance to see it lift off, but after seeing Avro Vulcan flying above my head I felt the power in the air. It was magnificent. SR-71 must be even more awesome.

I think falling in love with something during a grind is just an illusion.
I was grinding through the M3 Lee to get an M4 Sherman.
Most of the time, I was a slow, sitting duck, that'd be lucky to get a single enemy kill.
It was only toward the end of the grind that I was carrying my team with the M3, and having a grand time with it.
Hell, I remember one time I was coming down a steep incline and shot an enemy knocking him out.
As I was reaching the bottom of the incline, another enemy took out my tracks, sending me spinning in his direction and lining up the now reloaded cannon with the weak side armor of the enemy light tank.
So I'm familiar with getting good with under achieving or less desired vehicles, but I think that love is an illusion, given how much you hated such vehicles at the start.

A little fact about the P 47. Late in the war they were fitted with “paddle blade props” with these installed they could out dive every other fighter in combat. However when they met the Messerschmitt 262 jets. One American pilot ( I don’t know his name) was quoted as saying These things were climbing faster than were diving --- true story

The J1N1 is a low tier favorite of mine. It's a heavy fighter that can ground strike and boom and zoom well, plus it has as much firepower in its rear turret as many planes at its tier have at their front. You'll still be facing bi planes and it has double the fire power in its turret compared to most bi planes and it _shreds_ them if they try to chase you when you boom and zoom or ground strike. Plus many people assume heavy fighters are slowly and unwieldy or they mistake you for a bomber, but since its japanese it actually handles pretty well.

A bit of history you may or may not find interesting. After the end of WWII, the Air Force went to republic aircraft and said, “We want a jet-powered P-47!” They knew the F-86 would be their thoroughbred fighter so they wanted that rough, tough, heavy-hitting "P-47 role" as well-- just much faster.
The F-84 was the result. I enjoy how you put both father and son and your top 10!

My worst aircraft is the Komet ... it looks like a lozenge and is good for attaining height fast but its one second limit to ammo is somewhat restrictive so if you don't hit your target as you whizz by it at a hundred thousand miles an hour, you all be in Lapland by the time you've radioed base to ask them to make a nice cup of tea. I like the way the engine catches fire if you use it too much, that was probably a fuel saving incentive by the Luftwaffle.
Anyway, great work, carry on and keep calm.
I've only really played America and German, but the Chaffe was a tank I loved. I hung onto it for a long time, sadly parting with it for the M18 GMC - which is awesome itself (it kills Tigers from the side, something my heavy tank can't do). American light tanks are the best.

I honestly don't know what is that about but whenever I hear some Brit blabber about British military tech, the either come down to the Churchill or especially the Spit.
The Hs 129 is a lot better in the game than it was in actual combat service. The plane was seriously underpowered because the Germans went with old stockpiled French-made bomber radials for the power plants. (The Me 323 mounted six of the bloody things). Not only were they feeble, they tended to break down if you coughed loudly near them, and even with filters they had absolutely no tolerance for dust or mud. The two substances they got splashed with non stop in North Africa and Russia.
