Earlier this year my wife and I made a trip from Kansas City to Yellowstone. On our way back we stopped at Music Villa. What a wonderful guitar shop. I really appreciate their TH-cam videos with Quinton and Paul. So many guitars and helpful staff. It’s amazing to me how this guitar store thrives in relative low populated area. Would love to have a store of this quality in KC.
Whenever I pick a guitar up and I notice the tag lacks a price I quietly place it back on it’s hanger because I just know I have no business ‘trying’ that particular one out 🤣
Heh, you were only 10 hours away from where I live in Canada. 😎 I see all this guitars up to 100 strings or more lol, I am fine with the normal guitars, but that one did sound cool. Love the second guitar, that finish is beautiful, buckskin fir, you would think would have been a little more sappy. Another expensive to visit store lol, Gibson with the sunburst, you could tell that there is a cowboy guitar lol. Thanks for sharing, you know so much about guitars, you should build them.
That music villa is a great and fun store! But you are right. Expensive 🤣. I built 1 guitar. I attended a luthier school right after retirement. It was a lot of work! One guitar build is enough for me😀
@@guitarnotions I guess it isn't everyone's cup of tea, I have a lot of video's to go through, have you shown it before, I have a loss of memory both long and short term?
I have loads of clips From the journey landscape. Just no time to render it in the motel. I get to sleep about midnight putting the guitar clips together and those videos are way too long. Maybe I will do one of just the journey. Thanks so much for watching❤️
Thanks for the video! great guitars, great playing, lovely vistas. Got it all in this one. Felt a bit sorry for the girl in the background tho. I know the feeling. Being in a guitar shop plucking some strings on guitars that interest me and suddenly I've got someone sitting behind me that could just as well be playing on some stage. Though getting older and maybe a bit more pragmatic has me, if the person seems approachable, ask them their opinion on the guitars that interest me and maybe play them a bit. That got me to really like a Fender paramaount parlor guitar of all things. So always worth a try. Also just feels good to connect to fellow musicians, even as a beginning guitar player (maybe even especially as a beginner).
I agree, on the new players. A great player that really personifies this quality is Tommy Emmanuel. (one of my favorite players) …and those Fender Paramounts are super, especially when they first came out, are really nice instruments. Thanks for sharing an important thought and listening in ❤️
WOW!! That Taylor really does have an amazing sound !!! I've never seen an 8 string guitar. 5k is a hard price to swallow, but man, it seems very cool!! That 12 fret Bedelll is beautiful also !! You really played it nicely ! The scenery there looks amazing. The only thing that could make your guitar road trip better would be a trunk full of cash !!!! Thanks for these great videos!!!
Perhaps you just haven't tried the right one. They are all different. I have not liked every Taylor I picked up. But when I find one I like, its super good.
That Taylor baritone is really neat. I’ve never seen a baritone guitar with two extra middle strings. The Taylor 12-string and the Bedel are tied for second IMHO. That last Music Villa Martin is also really beautiful. Oh heck, they’re all awesome lol. 😂🤷🏼♀️ I also really like those art guitars behind the display cases.
Watched several videos of the Yamaha FG 800 series... ended up buying the 830 about a month ago... they weren't kidding... sounds better than most of my more expensive guitars' especially after I took a grinder and some sandpaper to it.
You make that Taylor 8 string baritone sound nice. I tried one of them in my local dealer a while back, But being mostly a flat picker, I could not really make it sound good for me. The price is crazy for us non-doctors. Also tried one of the Taylor 12 fret 12 strings you played at Palens Music in Wichita lately. I ended up buying a very nice Alvarez acoustic 6 string baritone for about $500 on the SDD. Cutaway body with arm bevel on upper bout. It is not a primary instrument for me but fun to play and has good electronics for the price. I let it sit in the studio for a couple weeks to acclimate then did a setup and I am very happy with it. Why do guitar players always go to the same stores? I think I am a Martin stalker......
Hello my fellow Martin stalker😀 I was wondering about the Alvarez baritone. I have seen them on line but have not had an opportunity to try one. That sure is a great price. I love the baritone sound and I know It would not be a primary player it would definitely have its place and moment😀
@@guitarnotions ps: it is pretty well made with decent fit/finish. Needed a couple frets tapped down and glued, saddle lowered a bit, all stuff in a normal new guitar setup.
There was no price tag- that should say it 🤣 it was an incredible instrument. I played 2 bedells when I was there. The first one was good but it did not grab you. Then I picked up the one your talking about. Wow - loved it!!
Love this store! I watch Quintin play the guitar demos all the time on their channel. Amazing guitars. I bet you have to check for belt buckles before you play these guitars!!!!
Could not find a price on the Villa website for the Bedells. They are Breedlove - Bedell dealers. Martin once made an eight string Roger Mcguinn model (not baritone). Will you visit the Gibson factory nearby there?
Actually thought of this when restringing my 12 string years ago. I wanted to cut down on the overly harpsichord like sound of it . Pretty sure I paid 200 bucks for mine though 😬
Beautiful guitars with hefty price tags, still I suppose you could sell the car and hitch hike home. I hope that your felliow traveller has the common sense to hide your credit cards and tell the salespeople that you're insolvent and of dubious disposition.😂
Very very good 💯😊❤
Thank you! 😊
@@guitarnotions you are very very welcome 🤗

Good times with six strings and bliss.
It been fun!! 😀
You got to try some wonderful guitars!!🎸🎸🎸🎸
I am spoiled now. You’re right, can't get much better than the ones I sampled. ❤️

I think so too! Plays beautifully!!
Safe travels on your journey to find all the cool guitars and people. Fun stuff and wish I could be right there with you.
Thank you! You would definitely love this journey - my video clips don't do it justice❤️
That Bedell was something else. Just gorgeous and beautiful sound!
Yeah. It would've tough for me to walk away from that Befell.
Couldn't agree more!❤️
Another great vid. Its winter here in South Australia, so Im enjoying your road trip while tucked up at night. Cheers.
The videos are longer than usual. I have been try to keep the time down but there is so much! More to come in Colorado. ❤️

I hope you come through Springfield Missouri, and stop at the Acoustic Shoppe, owned by The Chapmans.
I will put that name on the list. Thanks!!
Your cinematographer is doing a good job while having to fight off the glare.
Yes for sure😀
Enjoying your trips! Playing the Guitars, and a great partner recording it all. :)

I love this grand'ma. She's just talking with her kind heart.
Thank you… I don't feel like a grandma- but than I don feel fat either🤣
Man, that Bedell really is amazing. That had to be fun to play.
It is a gem of a guitar. Perfection at its best!
LOVE the 12 string, 12 fret Taylor. I have a 12 fret Taylor 322CE that I absolutely love.
They play with such ease. Amazing ❤️
Love music Villa 😊 Paul the owner is a great guy
I’ve bought several guitars from them
Very nice store
One of The very best! Thanks for watching!
The 12 Fret Bedell is sweeeet.
Best 12 fret in the store! In fact, I guarantee there is not another like it for miles!! Its unique!!❤️effortless sustain and tone.

Lol I could definitely go broke on a trip like this. 🤣 I loved that baritone too. It is very unique. I think the added octive strings make it sing. ❤️
