Loved this video and a great BIG thank you to Nate for his encouragement to all of us!!!❤ and thank you Cindy for opening up your world to us. This is definitely one of the positive sides of the internet and social media !!
The Taylor played at 1:30 is the best sounding Taylor I have heard! Solid sound and great intonation across the fingerboard. Good sustain. $8,000 wow! More than I want to spend, but best sounding Taylor I’ve heard!
Wow. The Hummingbird at the end was classic Gibson sound, I was not watching the screen but listening and it pulled me back to the sounds of the 1970's. Looked back to the video and sure enough, a Gibson. I play a 1971 J50, know that sound well.
Thanks so much!! It was my favorite too. If I was rich it would be coming home with me🤣🤣. Having the privilege to play it was wonderful. I love Palen Music Center. ❤️
What a nice jam that was! I love when the staff at some of these shops stop to say hi and play along with you. It shows that they want to make a connection with people coming inside the shop, and it’s just fun besides! I’d love for you to find some KLOS Guitars in one of these shops. They have a bunch of models that I think you’d like much better as far as legit Carbon Fiber guitars go (meaning the ones that use that actual aerospace material, as opposed to the cheap Chinese ones that use powered CF material mixed into plastic resin). KLOS Guitars cost less half the price of McPhersons and Emerald, on average. They offer lots of different options to customize the specs. There’s a full sized dreadnought that is slim enough for us girls - and it’s much louder and sounds nicer than that McPherson you just played. I think it’s 4.3” depth, 15” bought, and 19.5” length. You can get them as a hybrid with a wood neck or with a full carbon fiber neck. They also have a Grand Cutaway Mini that came out last year, which is similar in size to the dreadnaught - slightly slimmer, actually. You’d probably enjoy that too. I’ll bet you’d also enjoy the travel sized model. I have one of the early models of a full sized hybrid Deluxe dreadnaught model (hybrid = one with the wood neck - they did not offer a CF neck when I got mine) with Graphtech Ratio tuners and TUSQ nut/saddle. I’ll tell you, it’s in amazing shape for getting played nearly every day and being my only acoustic guitar. It was gifted to me by my mom who wanted to help me buy a guitar before she passed away so I could learn. I got the guitar from their 2017 Kickstarter and paid a fraction of what they cost now. The guitar came in late 2018, but I didn’t start using it until March 2019 because I became too ill for a while. I’m speaking from personal experience. This guitar has been amazing in every possible way, and I’m glad my mom helped me buy it with some emergency cash she had set aside for a rainy day. It sure has been a workhorse, even with the wood neck and bridge. Point is, they make them even better now, but the original plays beautifully and it’s super easy to maintain. If you see some KLOS Guitars along the way, please check them out. They make lots of stringed instruments now, both acoustic and electric. The KLOS shop is based in Utah, but they have dealers who keep some in stock or will help someone place an order with KLOS. KLOS also gives discounts if you reach out directly, they have b stock regularly available at a nice discount, and their new launches typically happen on Kickstarter and get the best discounts (helps to joint their email list for updates/news). In fact, if you ever pass through Utah, I’m sure they’d welcome you to check out their shop so you can learn more about how their guitars are made and how they are able to make true bidirectional carbon fiber guitars more attainable than the competition. I could even let you know who to ask for. One of the guys in particular would recognize my name because I’ve reached out with questions over the years. If you’re ever interested in passing through that way, let me know so I can connect you with them. They might even be willing to loan you some guitars by mail to check out on the channel. They have done that with other TH-camrs. Anyway, I was expecting that McPherson to wow me and it didn’t. I’ve heard them plugged into an amp, but I never heard them acoustically. They sound beautiful plugged in, but I guess they don’t carry sound well in a room when not plugged in. It was even drowned out when the guy was jamming with you. I guess that guitar is best for someone who is only going to plug it in or wants to play at very low volumes?
I agree the McPherson carbon fiber was ok but it lacked the volume and was more mid range…it does not cut through the mix well. That first guitar I played - (custom Taylor). It would have been singing and playing all by its self 🤣. But it was so much fun!! If I lived here I would be a regular in that store! Infact I would have to ask for a job just to pay for my guitar habit🤣. I know about KLOS guitars. I have never played one. I will be sure to watch for the opportunity. It just might come up. 😀. As always thanks for being there and all of your support too ❤️
Mic position, heavy attack flat-pick vs soft fingers, dread vs GC all mean the McPherson gets drowned out in the mix. McPherson can hold its own when all factors are equalized. They’re actually amazing acoustic instruments but head to head with a flat picked dread.. not so much.
@@CoopsXKE that is true. I love the McPherson guitars made of Ed (owned one). Their carbon fiber does not fit my style. Nicely made. I have an emerald carbon fiber I love!

They have an Eastman parlor guitar than I'm thinking of buying. Hope you have a wonderful time at The Acoustic Shoppe.
Great video. It's nice seeing those long-time guitar stores that are family owned across America. All we have here in Vegas is Guitar Center. What is your opinion on Zager guitars?
@guitarnotions I think that you can only buy them online. Zager claims that they are made totally in Lincoln Nebraska but some people believe that they are made overseas and assembled in Lincoln.
I have that Martin Whiskey Sunset in 00. It's a 00-17LE .......mine has built in electronics with battery access at the tail pin. The 00 size has been discontinued. .......why I don't know. Martin had the same guitar in Black Smoke. 🎸🎸🎸
Get your hands on some all solid Yamaha's, especially the LL Series. They are great. The A1M is solid top, laminate back and sides... the A3M/A3R are all solid (made in China), and the A5M/A5R are all solid (made in Japan). I love Yamaha, the money seem to match the quality, spec, and sound. I think the Yamaha you played there can actually keep up with most of what you played in this video, and it cost peanuts compared to the rest!

Cindy, very cool video. You should play with a pick more often, especially when jamming with others, because you can’t hear your playing. Do what you want, just saying. Gorgeous guitars.
