This is exactly why I will NEVER live in an area with a homeowner's association. An HOA is a bunch of losers with nothing better to do than police other people's property. I've NEVER heard someone say, "Oh man, I really LOVE my HOA." I've only heard horror stories. You give people this sort of power over other people and property that actually has nothing to do with them, and they're bound to abuse it. It's just the nature of the beast.
Yup. I was looking at homes the other day and saw a cute one in my budget. As soon as I spotted the monthly HOA fee, I noped right out of that one. If I'm going to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a house, I don't want a collection of Karens and Kevins telling me what color my front door can be.
MY "neighborhood" is 16 houses. I was the 1st to buy and move in. Several years later, the neighbors decided they want an HOA, money to keep common areas cleaned, mowed, taxes paid, ext. Everyone got together to vote. I said no. Majority vote won, yes for a HOA. It's $300/yr, with NO restrictions other than what the city/county places on everyone. No voting or approval needed for painting the house, or getting a new roof, ect. I lucked out. been here 22 yrs, zero issues, place is well maintained.

Which would be totally fine if he wasn't pulling it out for every minor annoyance. Eventually officers got fed up. They'd continuously get calls about him, but since he technically didn't do anything there wasn't a whole lot they could do. On the third to last response (that I know of) a Sargent came and told him that if they continued to get calls they'd be reaching out to the state gun board. I lived in a side by side, the neighbor in question lived next door. So I only know this because my front door camera picked up the conversation and I'm nosey. They had to come out again. Not too long after that he got some kind of summons. I only know that because of the constant complaining/drama that resulted from it. Not sure what happened, other than his CCW was pulled, he stopped having his gun on him when he was on the porch. So. Yes. Every state has a gun board.

For example where I used to live you can’t cut down certain types of trees on your property without a permit. I have a relative’s whose vehicle was towed by the city because it was left inoperable on their property for an extended time period.
