Do you want your paintings to have more life and get noticed more by other people? Do you feel stuck and not sure where to start?
If you struggle with this I bet you could probably benefit from using more contrast in your work.
In this video I want to show you several different ways to use contrating elements in your artwork and how it might improve your message and get more attention to your paintings. I'll show you different kinds of contrasts and ways of using it and why it works.
And the great thing is this applicable for any medium including acrylics, oil, watercolor, gouache, collage, etc.
Happy painting!

I’m an ‘on/off’ painter, I fall in and out of love with it. I haven’t painted for a few weeks now. I am very hard on myself and get easily discouraged by my failures. Your advice on being kind to yourself, putting on your favorite music and leaving expectations behind is priceless. I resolve to get going immediately and take all your wonderful advice to heart, thank you for all your great videos.
Glad it was helpful - I hope you found your way with good music and enjoying the process. Cheers from Denmark
I do the same. I’ve dabbled in watercolour for over 10 years. Had some pieces in a show last year where I sold a few. I get very discouraged feeling unsure about my style, or if I even have one. Thank you for your help. ❤️
Yes to creative beings being sensitive, and to be kind to ourselves! Great reminder. ❤
Of all the painting youtube artists that I have found, you and your work are my biggest inspiration. I gravitate to your style the strongest. Such a great mix of all of the elements, atmosphere, loose Impressionism, with strong composition. So yummy.
That is so kind of you, thanks so much 🌻🌻🌻
As always, thank you for your good advice. This is a good reminder to go back and listen to occasionally.
Thank you ❤️ Your paintings are beautiful ❣️
Thank you, you are a generous soul! Love your work 👌🏻🎨💜
You always know the right things to say.... can't tell you how much I needed your reminder of how to be to ourselves, both in art as well as life😢 thank you as always ❤
I love your paintings, i have learned a lot from you, thank you a lot 😘.
Contrast takes guts and at the moment I feel timid! Your style, both on and off the canvas, is remarkable 🙂
Yes you are right, it does take guts! Now let's all go out there and be brave..!
Thank You for the helpful advice, I guess my goal in my work i want to achieve the full effects of the colour and bring the painting to life, using the right blend of colours and shapes and textures tend to take time if doing a really nice landscape but like you say to be less hard on ourselves is questioning have we done it right in the process of developing the work 😉👍
You are kind and loving Artist. Beautiful work you do. Thank you for sharing ✨️

Marie Louise, are you ever doing in person workshops?
Yes I do but so far it's just in my nearby region.

The sound is VERY BAD! :(
